So why is Floyd-trout not happening again?
No need for anyone to come up or down. Both have titles. Both undefeated. Arum is not involved. Trout would take three dollars and any phony test.
So what's the holdup?
yeah, hopefully it works! its an easy win for floyd canelo didnt show anything spectacular last night.
didn't show anything spectacular, but Floyd doesn't want to fight him at 54. Interesting.
Sidenote, tons of banned dudes in this thread. lol wth?
canelo looked very meh last night i wont be surprised if they fight
I honestly believe it was done on purpose. Make Canelo look not so great in a win in order to lure Mayweather into the fight. As it stands, Floyd doesn't fight guys who are young, talented and incredibly dominating. To get a Floyd fight, you have to struggle a bit in your win.
:smashfrea Canelo hadn't fought anyone prior to yesterday's fight (I scored it for Trout) so I don't know why you quoted me. Canelo is still an easy style match-up for Floyd.
Trout/Floyd would be a very ugly boring fight. At least Floyd/Canelo would be fun to watch.
The only guys who wanna see Mayweather fight Canelo are Floyd groupies and Oscar himself. Canelo doesn't deserve a shot he hasn't fought anyone.
I wouldn't mind seeing that fight but not in place of the Canelo fight that's looming. Its a step in reverse. Its a reason Canelo is ranked a little higher.
If I was a Canelo fan I would rather them fight each other as well LOL
Not a Mayweather "Stan" at all, I just call things like I see it and I see a Canelo fan looking to try and match up Trout and Floyd so he won't have to fight both
I have posted on this forum many if times that I think Trout BEATS MAYWEATHER!
I don't think No Doubt can beat Money...he is a good basic fighter but that it, HE IS A GOOD BASIC FIGHTER. Does he have a ring IQ, Can he summon up the skillset to beat an opponent who doesn't get tired on him? How will he fare when he fighting a opponent who he doesn't have the physical advantages over? Other than Angel, does he have any special wins over special opponents?
I don't think Money is scared of No Doubt but at Money age, it is all about the money.
As a boxing fan, I'd rather him fight Canelo if it's on PPV and No Doubt if it's on free TV due to the fan friendly style of Canelo and the "style" of No Doubt
So he should fight the #3 Trout instead of the
#2 Canelo???lmfao damn son
Last time i checked Trout never called out Floyd,Trout may be afraid of Floyd for all we know.Trout has called out Canelo but he never called out Floyd.
Secondly Canelo is the one that should be fighting Trout then Floyd fights the winner. If that fight don`t happen then Floyd and Trout can fight after Floyd is done with Guerrero if Martinez is`nt available. You can`t fight everybody at one time.
Just because Floyd is not fighting him next that don`t mean Floyd is not gonna fight him down the line.Floyd might want to get it over with with the biggest money fights.
And if Trout calls him out and Floyd don`t fight him then hey call him what you want but if Floyd does fight him it still wont matter cause they`ll still accuse Floyd of ducking another guy and they`ll say "Trout only beat a washed up Cotto",so it never ends.
Now, each of these posters will make a million reasons as to why Floyd shouldn't have to fight Canelo. Too bad most are banned so won't be able to eat their crow.
Trout only beat Cotto because Floyd softened him up.
Floyd was nice to cotto the last round, he could have knocked him out but he did the ali moves to show him look I still got it in the 12th round while you are dead tired and out on your feet. Cotto was never the same after the beating floyd gave him.
Floyd is seeking better challenges than trout, that fight is too easy for him.
I feel like I've already read this from you before. It's kinda funny, but it didn't get many laughs last time around, so it may be time for new material

lol I see that the haters have found their new "beast" that will beat floyd. The cycle never ends
That's a copout. If I think, a respectable, fighter A can beat a great Fighter B and you think otherwise, you should encourage the idea instead discouraging and mocking it for something stemmed from hatred. If not then, then when would it be okay to suggest an opponent for Floyd to fight?
You forgot Martinez, Mosley, and a Judah with stamina. This happens ALL the time on this site since 05 its always been the next guy that can beat Floyd. I remember when Berto was that guy. I remember when Dziznruk was that guy. etc
Berto? that wasn't even a topic of discussion. As soon as someone brought it up, "They can't fight because they're both under Haymon....Pacquiao should fight Berto; he's slick, black and prime."
And Dzinziruk? that's a first....I'd like to see that thread.
Where is everyone getting this from? I haven't said once that Floyd is ducking Trout.
I never said you said Floyd is ducking Trout.I mean`t Floyd haters.
So it's okay for Floyd to pick on the bigger money fights against less proven fighters instead of the less lucrative ones against more proven opponents because that's boxing? :lol1: Man Bushbaby is right, we just accept that is the way it is and nothing can be done about it.
When has Floyd picked on less proven fighters for Money?Trout resume at best is`nt a whole lot better then Guerrero`s.
Trout only has one big win, while Guerrero has won titles in multiple weight classes.A person can argue that both fighters resume`s is equal.
Guerrero brings a Mexican fan base behind him so of-course it makes financial sense for Floyd to pick him, that don`t mean Floyd won`t fight Trout down the line.
Last time i checked Trout never called out Floyd,Trout may be afraid of Floyd for all we know.Trout has called out Canelo but he never called out Floyd.

I understand all that. But when people say he's cherrypicking for easier big money fights, you essentially are confirming they're right.
So he can come up to fight Canelo at 154, an unproven prospect, but to come up to fight Trout, who beat up and outpointed Cotto, that's not okay? :lol1: Hyprocrisy at it's finest.

Yes its Ok if that were the case. And there is something you can do or rather not do.....buy it. You tried to paint with a broad brush to support your agenda. Its not "less proven" vs "more proven". Its simply picking between Guerrero and Trout who both still have things to prove.
My agenda? You've attacked my every post when I haven't said one bad word about Mayweather or accused him of ducking. :lol1:
You jump to defense. It wasn't a slight at Cotto. As much as I like Cotto it was a sign of the times. Trout looked better against Cotto than he did against Rodriguez. Neither fight proved beyond a shadow of doubt that he can hang with Floyd either. I'm not explaining this right. Simply put, IMO whether its Guerrero or Trout they represent the same danger or lack there of, to Mayweather. All they can do now is fight. I believe Trout is penciled in for Canelo. In May it will be show and tell time. If Cinnamon blasts him out you make an apology thread to me for this circle jerk. If Trout wins impressively I'll gladly apologize for doubting your foresight and wisdom.
Deal. I'm down for that.
What's hypocritical? When did he fight Canelo? Even if he decides to fight Canelo, it still wouldn't be hypocritical. Who said that it's not ok if he fights Trout? If Mayweather decides to fight Trout then so be it, I'll be somewhere watching. I'm just explaining why common sense tells why you why he wouldn't. Obviously you don't understand what I said about Mayweather not being a full-time 54 pound fighter, and that he's only going to go up that high for big money fights. If you did then why are you acting like you don't understand why he might not choose Trout? Trout isn't a big money fight at this point, Canelo is? Get it?

My God. I have not once said he shouldn't fight Trout for any reason. I gave obvious reasons why Guerrero makes more sense at this moment. If we're gonna keep it inside the ring then maybe this will do. You say Trout is the better fight? Well in Floyd's past the fighters that gave him the most trouble were in his face with pressure (Guerrero). Fighters who try to out wit him with technical boxing usually get beat on (Trout). So what are you basing your opinion on? Simply the win over Cotto?
The same Cotto that Floyd had fought 7 months prior, I think that's a decent comparison of each guy's skills vs the same fighter. Trout's strength, skill, and reach are what would intrigue me about him fighting Floyd. Guerrero beating Aydin and Berto don't prove he can hang with Floyd to me. Aydin is strong, but very limited technically. Berto is very overrated and while it was a good fight, it didn't skills that could beat Floyd, at least to me. Beating Cotto how Trout did was a better win.
The reasons to choose Guerrero over Trout are reasons not to pick Trout are they not? If you're picking Guerrero for those reasons, then you're not picking Trout for the same reasons.
I understand all that. But when people say he's cherrypicking for easier big money fights, you essentially are confirming they're right.

What is bull*****t about the upside (from a business standpoint) to fighting a Mexican fighter around independence day? What it is, is y'all hearing what you wanna hear. I've said more than once that I'd like to see the fight with Trout but its not as important as you make it out to be. Just like the Guerrero fight is no career defining fight. Can you admit that its not the crime of the century, taking on Guerrero. He's obviously the bigger name regardless of ethnicity. No he's not the polished boxer Trout is but its a toss up as to who's the better fighter.
I'm not crying duck here, I haven't mentioned it in one post directed to you in this thread. It's not a duck. The reason Trout gives Floyd a better fight? He's bigger and more skilled than Guerrero. If Trout beats Canelo, then I think he's earned his place in line.
My arguement was more directed towards the reasons Floyd shouldn't fight him that were mentioned. Being a smaller name, not being Mexican, etc. I agree it's not a duck. The reasons mentioned were what I disagreed with.
