Why even bother, this was proven when people discredited Ward for beating a young Dawson after he dropped in weight. So why should Floyd fight a 37 year old Sergio who would drop a division for a pay day?this is crazy,it would be a sh1t fight and Sergio would be drained and ineffective.terrible fight
Please tell me 1 time when a 37 year old dropped a weight class and was successful
Hopkins dropped to 170 from 175 to fight Pavlik... thats one pound less than Sergio would have to drop
anyone who thinks sergio makes 160 healthy is deluded. he doesnt, theres no way. hed come in looking drained. id still give floyd full credit for the win tho. i guarantee u that wouldnt be the overall sentiment on this site tho, but who cares. floyds a great fighter whether most of these idiots like it or not. anything he does in the future is merely icing on a already baked cake. they will soon find someone new to complain about like adrien broner
Pretty much this. To get full credit, people would need see how Martinez looked at 154lbs first. He hasn't fought there since 2009 against Cintron (draw).
Floyd would still get credit for taking the fight right now regardless though, no one expects him to take it.
Or just the time Martinez has asked for to lose the weight in a healthy manner.
Martinez really beat Cintron in that fight (he knocked him out, but the ref let him fight after the count of 10 and then Martinez should have won in decision), but that is just a small aside.

Yes he could give Sergio a fight straight away like he did JMM. Ideally he would let Sergio have a warm up fight at that weight. But Floyd would get credit for fightin Sergio regardless.
Some will criticise no matter what, but that comes with the territory.
If Floyd would give the indication of fighting Martinez..He could give Sergio at least 1 fight to come down..

If he fights Martinez the only way it would mean anything is if he fought him at 160 no catchweight for the linear Mw title,no excuses for all the marbles
That's what he should do. Most successful welterweights try it at some point. Delahoya did it and he was a small fighter like floyd. Hopkins was much more dangerous and Delahoya didn't have the skill of Mayweather. If he pulls it off he will reap all the rewards and back up his claim of being one of the best ever.
Even Corey Spinks tried it why not MaYweather?

People say Floyd ducks fights and is a cherry picker because he is and does. It's not a conspiracy or hate and it will always be part of his legacy. Deal with it.

If Martinez breaks Floyd to pieces and lays him out will people say that Floyd got beaten up by a bigger man or will they say he got dominated by a superior fighter?
Well it's great you think you have the right to classify people as haters.
Oh look another Mayweather thread by Larry. This is pretty much spam, no points get made. Just the same old crap.
I do believe I have the right to have an opinion of anyone or anything...So yes I do have the right to classify people as haters(as long as they fit the criteria of one)...Dude is a known Floyd hater and his post speaks in volume...Everyone knows Larry is a Pac hater as well, and I would say the same thing to anyone who trys to tear down Pac's career..It's a hater move and tbh pretty stupid..Both of these(Pac and May)fighters are great fighters...Hell they even say how Martinez is overrated now..It's just stupid, and like I said hateful..
Floyd didnt hesitate to fight JMm so why the excuses not to fight Sergio?
Yes he will be criticised for draining Sergio so are you gonna use that as an excuse to not fight Sergio? It didnt stop him fightin JMM people criticising him.
If he dont want critism fight him at 160. But if floyd wins people will say sergio got old overnight or had a bad day at the office. So floyds not going to fight anyone then is he? Retire again then.
Martinez would give Mayweather huge problems. Speed, leghth, size, power and south paw.
Gueerarro poses no threat.
I agree with this whole post..You will not get an argument out of me on this subject...
Well, your a hater...Anyway,Floyd is clearly one of the best fighters of his era and ever..Anyone who try's to deny this is a hater...Oh and btw I'm not even a big Mayweather fan..But give credit where it's due son...

Amazing how *****s make excuses for floyd to avoid all tough in prime fights, from kosta, mosley, margo, cotto, pac to martinez today
all excuses
ask yourself this, which in prime great boxer has floyd defeated? his prime? all he has is wins over a 2 year lay off oscar and a 140 fighter in hatton lol
he is a joke
he will never be considered one of the best, just a what if fighter
he has taken the easy roads everytime, avoided the best to fight bankers

Of coure he would, for the money. It would still effect his performance though, its just that for that type of money, he doent care. He still wouldnt be the best Martinez though, whether he agrees or not.
If Floyd would give the indication of fighting Martinez..He could give Sergio at least 1 fight to come down..But to answer the thread question,I would not talk about weight drained...If Martinez put name on the contract, then I expect he could make the weight and be at his best...May vs Martinez is the fight I most want in boxing tbh...
I honestly can't even see Mayweather winning against Martinez. Nobodies invincible. We just watched Pacquiao get KTFO and i could see Martinez putting Floyd down. Even if he's slightly weight drained.
