Man, the odds will be heavy in Floyd's favor on this one too, a $10.00 bet may bring you in close to $100.00 bucks. I might throw $100.00 on the Ghost and hope my boy beats Floyd senseless.
I don't think the bookies will underestimate The Ghost again in a hurry. I think he'll probably be around a 5/1 underdog.
I've never bet against Floyd, don't think this time will be an exception either.

He just got $12million for Mayweather, and probably $3-5Million for Trout. It's gonna take more than 1Mill+ to get him back so soon. He needs a vacation, he just fought 2 fights 5 months apart. He will not fight yet again just 5 months after. If we're talking about Canelo vs Cotto as a HBO main event PPV, yeah of course he'd come back, that'll be a lot of money for both fighters. The PPV would do pretty good numbers, maybe 500k+.
Ask yourself when was the last time Cotto fought on an undercard BTW?
Cotto only made $1,000,000 for the Trout fight.
As a Cotto fan I think he should hang up his gloves, hes too small for jmw. Canelo would really hurt Cotto in my opinion, he should avoid the fight, I don't see him winning.
there's a reason why floyd's fight plan is the ghost and canelo.
nothing has changed with floyd.
still cherry picking.
I know Floyd is a cherrypicker. But the entire boxing world accepts it. I'm tired of broadcasting it.
But that's why I campaign so hard against ginger. Cause Pacman & Floyd both has cherrypicked their way to greatness. I will speak out against ginger doing the same.
I think Sergio came in a few lbs lighter for Chavez Jr as he was looking to be fast as possible? I think he was 167-169 for Barker & Macklin.
We are talking legacy right? If he drains Sergio down to say 150-152 would that do anything for his legacy at all? I don't think it would and I think Sergio would be a zombie at that sort of weight. I have doubts he could safely get back down to 154 and I genuinely believe 154 was not his best weight.
He was very good at 154 but I feel he is better as a middleweight.
I don't think Sergio has ever been over 167 for the night of a fight.
Sergio says it would take him 6 months to a year to lose the weight safely, so if Floyd takes him at his word then it still maybe is better than fighting a relatively unheralded fighter at 147 or 154. After Canelo who gives Floyd the kind of money Sergio can help him bring in?
Sergio may not be the biggest star, but it would be a very marketable fight.
Not excited by the fight but this really shows how the welterweight division has dipped
A decent fight but I really hope Floyd plans on fighting again before the year ends
you have to take risks to be the best. he could get seriously hurt in any fight strictly speaking. im just of the opinion that any other fight except martinez is just a fight to get money.
Very true! I mean boxing is a dangerous enough sport as it is and fights like that for me are going to increase the risks of getting seriously hurt.
Canelo is fair enough and he is near enough as big as Sergio but for me they're two totally different fighters.
Canelo is rather made to order despite he'd have a big size advantage. He has no jab, Sergio has one of the best in boxing.
Hes got a high workrate, great footwork, tremendous power and he is a southpaw.
I think there is a big difference between the two. One is flat-footed, has no jab, pretty untested and has a mediocre defense the other is a fleet-footed highly skilled boxer-puncher with K.O power in both hands proven against top notch opposition and coming fresh off rearranging the face of a cruiserweight.
Only thing that would make this fight more interesting is if Floyd can't pull the trigger like he used to. He'd be in deep sh*t if that were to happen.
I agree. But, i think he'll pull it off quite easily. Guerrero has enough workrate to take him out of his comfort zone, but even on Floyd's last legs, I think he'd beat Guerrero. I'll start worrying when/if Floyd fight Alvarez in September.
The Ghost has earned his shot. The way he beat Berto is greater than gingers entire 40+ fights.
Now what really surprises me is that everyone thinks ginger walks through Angulo. To this day, December 21st 2012, ginger has yet to fight a jr middlweight that is as big as Angulo & packs Angulo's type of power.
I'll start trailblazing right now. If ginger faces a healthy Kirkland, or Angulo, he'll get stopped. Trout embarrasses him, Lara too. And quite frankly I'd pick Vanes over him too. Because ginger has done absolutely nothing to prove to me that he's better than any of the guys mentioned.

sergio offered pacquiao a catchweight not floyd and if im not mistaken pacquiao was actually the one that brought up the catchweight but sergio or his team did not offer floyd a fight at 150 catchweight.
what happened about sergio being to big for jmw?what happened to all those people that were crying about sergio not moving up to smw to fight ward?so depending on the context of the conversation sergio is either to big or small enough depending on peoples agenda
"Former two division world champion Sergio Martinez says he’s willing to fight Floyd MayweatherJr at 150 pound catchweight. However, Mayweather will have to wait until November before Martinez can fight him because he says he won’t be available until then, according to an interview at *************.com.
Mayweather recently told Yahoo Sports writer Kevin Iole that he’d be willing to fight Sergio Martinez on May 5th at the MGM Grand if Martinez is willing to get down to 150 to fight him at a catchweight.
Martinez told *************.com “I said 150 and I will keep my promise…I don’t have problems in fighting at Jr. Middleweight. Talk is cheap. Fight or shut up. November would be a good month. I would have enough time to reach 150 and you could be recovered from your holidays.”
Mayweather is still trying to make a deal with WBO"

True, you make great points. I was just saying if the payday is good enough it can change anyones mind. Cottos getting up there and he knows he doesnt have much time left. He needs to bank as many of those big paydays as he can before its over.
