During the Khan fight I think his work in the corner was superb! Especially the advice he gave at the end of the second round.
I feel a lot of trainers reel off to much information/instructions at times, often hard for a fighter to take it all in.
''Listen Danny, you gotta be more crispy man!''
I particularly loved ''Hes leaning towards your left! Left uppercut, man. WATCH HIM! Instead of just being out of control, watch him! Okay? Don't frustrate yourself with the blood or nothing. Stay calm, man!''

How many fighters does he train and what are their statuses in the sport today?
Quality over quantity.
He trained Danny and his brother from nothing unlike most of these Hollywood trainers who take fighters under their wing once they're already bigtime.
I am more impressed by a trainer taking a fighter from scratch, moulding him and guiding them to a world title than I am from a trainer taking on an already highly successful fighter who basically knows the game inside out already.
I can't really judge him as a trainer yet, but he seems to be a very good corner man, especially considering the fact that he never lost his composure in the Khan fight where his son was being picked of in the first two rounds.

man I loved that talk pops gave to Danny right there.....proper stuff :fing02:
I think Angel has done everything right so far....dude has yet to make a mistake in my eyes.....when you get pass his craziness, you can see he knows his boxing!!
How Good of Trainer is Angel?
There is no question he is a great corner man for his son. I think he has trained him well but would like to see straighter punches and the abilty to attack. Danny Garcia's strength is his ability to come out top in exchanges. He is also very calm but feel he is not a complete fighter.
There is no doubt that he is a great asset in his son's corner. I would like to see him in the corner of other fighters to determine whether he is a great trainer.

We'll probably have a better gauge on how good he is as Danny's career progresses but I don't think anyone can fault him (at least on the training aspect) so far.
It'll be interesting to see how he reacts when his boy is under some real pressure.
agree 100%. his antics aside, he's done an excellent job so far.
I re-watched the Khan-Garcia fight last night and Angel Garcia does give good advice, and he does seem to spot the right things but I think time will tell how good he is. We can't judge him yet.
