That would be a great fight. Everyone who matthyse has fought has touched the canvas. I class him as an undefeated fighter. I disagree with the 2 losses
That was Lucas's first big fight and his first fight here in the states. Both Lucas and Broner have improved in the last couple years. I hope this fight happens one day but it wont be any time soon. I doubt Broner's first fight at 140 will be against anybody dangerous.
fair point. If you can take all the NSB bull**** out of the discussion, Broner has showed a wide array of skills that very few his age and experience level have shown. I have great respect for Matthyse, thought he got robbed vs Devon.
Love how people make a prediction based on one fighter having a bad/mediocre performance or whatever yet fail to look at the other fighters bad performances.
This guy, Broner seemingly gets all this praise for doing sweet F.A
Tbh I just think its Americans looking for the future cashcow.
All I really see is a big fcuking lump, a full blown welterweight who only looks good against static fighters half his size.
I'll get sh1t on and that is cool but that is what I feel. I don't get what the big rave is about. Has he improved? Yes he has but to call this guy future p4p this & that and to say he beats proven world class fighters in divisions above him when he hasn't done sh1t in his own is crazy.
He beats Guerrero, Lucas, Garcia etc
Come off it man, don't talk wet.
As far as I am concerned, Lucas would put that kid in a coma. Broner would not hear the final bell. What is he gonna do? Stand in the pocket using some poxy shell whilst leaning back all night against Lucas, yeah good luck with that brilliant strategy!
I hear you man. I try not to be a hater but this is kinda ridiculous, how can people say that he can clear out the 140 lb. division after beating one decent guy at 135? Broner fans are reaching, he's being put on a pedestal he doesn't deserve to be on.
if you look at broner's and you look at lucas' skill sets objectively, its easy to see why broner would be favored. Lucas hits hard but the zab fight highlighted his deficiencies. His late surge IMO had more to do with zab's lack of stamina.
I thin k it would be a very good fight. I'll take Broner.
Great fight, if Broner wins againts either guy..then he is the truth..but I dont know how he would do againts these 2, they both hit hard and take a mean shot..
Id like to see broner take a few 140 fights first, then ill have an opinion
But the fun in it is predicting it now. After he gets to 140 and beats a few fighters, we'll all know where he stands.
I hear you man. I haven't seen this type of hype in a long time. I mean come on, Broner beats one decent guy at 135 and now the BronTards think he can clear out 140 :lol1: but wait Broner's gonna be the first billion dollar fighter according to schaefer
The problem is, you don't see it because you don't like him. People that have watched this sport for a long time and have seen fighters come and go, know this kid looks really good right now.
lol at u thinking everyone who doesnt think he's the goat is a "hater".
No not at all, you don't have to think of him that highly. Its comments like he will get beat down and shhhiiit like that when noone even knows how tough he is yet. But of course that's their opinion and my opinion is they don't like the guy.
But Zab moved a lot in that fight, something Broner doesn't do (or rarely does).
So, if someone doesn't move a lot, they can't beat Matthysse? Please, man. He's not that bad ass at all.
It's an interesting match up; it's hard to see anybody beating Broner at 135 and it's hard seeing anybody beating Matthysse at 140 right now. But let's also keep in mind, both guys have fought the best in their division yet so it's all speculation. Broner hasn't fought Vazquez/Abril and Lucas hasn't fought Garcia/Maidana/Rios. That seems a bit off topic to the thread question, but I just want to point that both guys have more to prove at their respected weight classes before everybody appoints them the best. But as to who I think wins in a Mattysse/Broner match up RIGHT NOW? I think it's a toss up, pretty hard fight to call.
Man, a lot of people were saying that. Where were you at? A lot of people were also saying if he can beat Demarco, then they'll admit he's a good fighter. Obviously the hate hasn't stopped any. I can see it now, when he does start beating 140 lbs fighters, everyone is going to say wait till he gets to 147, he won't stand a chance there. lol
I dont know about a lot of people but i was saying that it was a mismatch and that DeMarco was gonna catch a beating. I Guess The Linares fight fooled a lot of people on here. I mean i saw Linares struggle with a journeyman in his next fight and DeMarco struggled with him for majority of the fight. lol at u thinking everyone who doesnt think he's the goat is a "hater". Its not debatable that 135 is a weak division. Are u saying its not? Lets see how he does at 140 before we declare him the best at the division and all the fights easy ok.
Who was saying that? It was pretty obvious that DeMarco was going to catch a beating

I think Maidana gets demolished, it would be nasty.
Matthysse is a different animal though, he's smarter and more patient. He could pull a Ponce De Leon and fight a technical fight against Broner and lose a close decision.
Yep Yep Yep
People forget , mental midget over the hill Zab Judah beat Lucas Matthysse.
But Zab moved a lot in that fight, something Broner doesn't do (or rarely does).
There isn't a fighter around right now who can beat Broner. Not Rios, Garcia or Matthysse.
And they say Golovkin is overrated. :lol1:
Are u serious? U get all that from a win over DeMarco,a win over a coked up midget and a win over a slightly better than average fighter who was cheated on the scales? I mean the kid barely beat a smaller Ponce. I think u guys need to slow down on this Broner hype. He's obviously very talented and the best in a very weak lw division but come on.
he was being sarcastic.
but that really is what the BronTards think.
lol oh ok..U never know with some of the posts u read these days.
LOL....nah really I think the kid is a talented enough boxer who tries WAY too hard to be Floyd but is like a D rated Floyd. He is perceived as some type of phenom but he is a bigger guy beating up on smaller guys.
Others have said that once he moves up, he will carry his skill with him and his power will be proportionate to his proper weight division but his style is not not suited for fights against harder punching guys.
I think he is one of the top 3 most hyped up boxers in the game who will lose at 140 and then his spot will be filled with another future GOAT
Broner is the next Mayweather, he will carry the sport for years. I think it'll take someone from 168 or 175 to maybe, just maybe have a chance to land a luck punch because I don't think there is anyone on earth who could beat him by decision.
