Simple question.
Dude is a 4 division champ known for winning interim belts in wars and losing every time he faced THE champ at his weight.
So taking in factor the level of opposition he beat, is he HoF worthy?
Personally I dont think he should even be in the ballot, really undeserving of anything really, especially when you look at other four division champs: Hearns, Leonard, Duran, De La Hoya, Gamez, Jones Jr., Mayweather, Morales Pacquiao, Marquez, Donaire.
If anything, he and Guerrero should be there only to clean the shoes of these atgs.
I don't "hate" Judah, hes just a fucking bum whos been given so many title shots and opportunities and always came up short. Just look at where hes ranked at in the division, it truly is a joke and I honestly cant see how you can call him "underrated" considering all the chances hes been given.
The word bum is over used. Judah right now has seen his best years go past him so its unfair to judge him by what he does now.
He is a three time champion in two divisions who's career win came against an decent but overhyped Spinks.
Put a PR flag on Arce n he becomes an ATG to the TS.
When your notable wins include winning interim titles over Juanito Rubillar, Angel Antonio Priolo, Rafael Concepción and a vacant over Angkotta.
Not even a drunk version of me would be man enough to even put you in the Top 10 of your best division.
I dont even have Cotto entering the hall of fame, the last time I even defended the guy was for the Foreman win.
You really must hate Judah.
The guy has a nasty uppercut and had greater hand speed than Cotto. Look at their records up until they fought. Cotto had less than half the quality of opponents Judah had faced going up into the fight.
Judah to this date has given Mayweather the toughest fight he has had at 147. Unless you can mention someone else? And going by their careers, you know the Baldomir loss was a fluke.

 @ underrated
hes the most overrated fighter of this era. How in the hell can you call Judah "dangerous" when he was coming off back to back losses to Carlos Baldomir and Floyd Mayweather? I see your standards are low, that or your a Cotto nuthugger.

Judah is underrated.
Not a great fighter but good enough to become a champ, even in this so called deep era we have now at 140.
Fact remains Cotto hadnt fought someone a experienced as Judah before and it was a dangerous fight.

why do people always bring that mental midget Judah up like it was a good win? the fucker didn't have a win in over 2 years when he fought Cotto. Bum ass fight.....

No. But not because "he took advantage of a weak era in his weight", his wins just don't stand out.
But who cares? Who's going to care? Will ESPN care, will it be on any major news? Nobody cares about who gets inducted into the HOF in boxing because the standards are low.
What an ATG is in boxing is actually what the HOF is in every other sport. Too bad ATG doesn't even exist, there's no award or anything to become an ATG, there's no inductions. All ATG's are bunched up together in the HOF. Sugar Ray Robinson shares the same award as Arturo Gatti. IBHOF is trash, there's no criteria, just a bunch of blind picks. You need no statistics, no certain amount of wins over champions, no certain amount of fights.
Why are you even putting Trout in that category? The one who stepped up in that fight was Trout, and he was way bigger.
Cotto in reality is 5-3 in Top fights.
First was against Quintana where he stepped up in weight and competition.
Then came Judah who was seen as a tough fight for him considering he gave Mayweather hell for the first half of the fight and was once the unified champ. Cotto never fought a guy like Judah before. Then came Mosley who was already a hall of famer and hadnt lost in some time. The Margarito where he lost. Then Pacquiao where he also lost. Then Foreman as it was going up another division. Then the margarito rematch. Then the Mayweather fight.

Damn, people bring up Cotto in threads that mention Arce. WTF is wrong with dudes? The hating is laughable. Can't anyone just have a boxing discussion that is on point? Effin lames.
Anyways to answer the question, I don't think he should get in, but his body of work and longevity deserves a chance on the ballot and a debate at the very least. He's at least earned that.
if someone like arturo gatti got in anybody is eligible.
out of all the sports boxing is the easiest to get in.
no quality control whatsoever.
piss poor idiotic voters.
pretty much what this guy said who cares HOF is a joke now anybody can get in
whats this interim title bs? the only weightclass were he was JUST an interim titlist was flyweight.
he was a FULL titlist at 108,115, 118 and 122 even if some of them were vacant....and a Cotto fan wouldnt dare criticise someone who wins a bunch of vacant belts and loses against his best opponents would he???
anyway, to the question, teh IBHOF has low standards, so he's just as deserving as some of the people who are already there....
Ok how many titlists has Arce beaten in his career wise guy?
Funny how you guys say he is worthy "because the hall of fame has low expectations".
The thread title was "Is he HoF worthy or not?" and not "Does the HoF have enough low expectations to allow Arce into the HoF?". But then Im already getting my answers with these posts.
Funny how mexicans keep bringing puerto ricans into every single thread they can gawd!
