i dont think its possible at his weight the challenges aren't there ,
we are talking ab manny fukin pacquia 8 division champ
ppl fg what he accomplished b4 his last figh ??
thanks for outing yourself as a floyd stan.
i knew that already but thanks for having the same kind of mentality as floyd and his repugnant fan base.
ray robinson and henry armstrong have tons of losses. check where they are in atg rankings.
& no, ward will not have a better career than pac.
Yes, I'm a Floyd fan. So what? You're a Pacquiao fan. What relevance does this have to the topic at hand? I dont see Ward finishing his career with 5 loses. However, I just don't think Ward has the necessary level of competition available to him tim surpass Manny at the moment.
I think it depends on the competition which Ward has available to him. He needs to beat some HOF and some ATG if he can. No way will he have 5 loses like Manny though.

Oh, and Manny's multiple weigh class titles are more than a bit watered down. Remember, back in the day there were FAR fewer weight divisions. He holds that record partially because a lot of great fighters never had as many classes available to them.
that would make sense.....if it wasnt manny pacquiao youre talking about...
First Flyweight champion to win the Featherweight crown...original weightclasses...add to that lineal titles at 130 and 140...... and alphabet titles at 122, 135, 147(and please, taking too much credit away from him for making Cotto lose a whole extra pound is kinda pitiful...considering this was Manny's 7th weightclass, ill give you fighting at 150 for a 154 belt does wate rdown the belt, even though he did fight a guy who on fight night outweighed him by 17 lbs), 154.....
The guy has fought across 40lbs.....Ward would have to win a Heavyweight belt to hold that a candle, considering the lack of talent around his weightclasses....
this is what I was getting out of his post. I don't look too much into the whole 8 division titles thing, I like at the quality of opponents faced.
Yeah, me too.
I mean, winning titles in 8/7 divisions is an amazing feat, no question.
But, you don't have the equal that to be considered as great as him.
It's mainly about your resume whether it's across 8 weight classes or 1.
A fighter doesn't need to jump 8 weight classes and win 4 Lineal's to be considered greater than Pacquaio.
A fighter could stay in 1 or 2 stacked divisons and clean them out and there's a possibility he could be greater than Pacquaio, for example.
this is what I was getting out of his post. I don't look too much into the whole 8 division titles thing, I look at the quality of opponents faced.
That makes sense.
They way you put it across you made it seem like Ward had to move up 8 divisions (Impossible) and 4 of which be Lineal Titles to equal Pacquaio.
I'm in agreement with you though I don't see Ward equalling what Pacquaio has accomplished.
Ward's 28. Look what Pacquaio had done in his career by the time he was 28.
cool.........:friday:
what i meant is having accomplished better things than that...like most title defenses in a few weightclasses . for example if ward goes in 3 weightclasess and having like 15 title defenses in each then i would have him above pacquiao..prolly with or without hofer names in there..do you get it yet?
the thing with you is you think you know more about what i said than i....you cant put words in my mouth

So what do you mean by this;
"i dunno ..do you see him having titles in 8 weight classes and 4 lineal in 4 divisions?"
Isn't that implying that Ward or a fighter in general would have to do that to be considered as great as Pacquaio?
Explain it to me because to me, that's what it seems like you're saying.

you realize Wards 168 belt was on the line in that fight right? Dawson also called Ward out to fight at 168! learn the facts son
also, he beat fighters at their own weight? LOL terrible trolling, need to go back to trolling school bro
he had the opportunity to achieve true greatness and he took the safe route.
you would say that, Ward had the opportunity to be the LWH Champ and instead he chose to fight him at his own weight in his hometown...
Pacquiao traveled across the world and beat HOF's at their own weight

That is an incredibly tall order for any fighter. If he's going to do it, he'll have to do it Hopkins style, because the other great fighters probably won't be there for him any time soon.
He doesn't really have the opponents around him right now as I see it. He's beaten his biggest challenges and handily. A great fighter, who may be just as good as Pacquiao, but doesn't have as many oppurtunities to show it.
You didn't? I thought you did
And I personally don't see Ward having a better career than Pacquaio. I don't see that at all. Going to be very hard for him to reach that level of greatness, IMO.
All I'm saying is a fighter doesn't have to win titles in 8 divisions or/and 4 Lineal Titles to be considered greater than Pacquaio.
I think it would be easier to compare someone who’s smaller and has potential to move up in weight could have been a better example..
IMO, unless Ward's promoter finds him a bad guy rival, i.e. Bob used Mayweather to promote Pac, Ward won't have that guy he is supposed to be scared of or trying to make the fight happen while keeping fans waiting, talking and hyping it up. I think if Ward wants to surpass Pac, he would have finish cleaning out his division, move up to LHW, clean it out, move up and beat a CW or two just to get a title and then test the waters at HW later in his career. Once the Klits are gone, the HW's will be looking for new guys to take over.
Not saying Ward could ever do any of that, but think it would put him up there with the greats.
thats why you have to undersand what you are reading ..if i meant to say what you say i said , then i shoulda just went ahead and said it word for word or atleast similar..

actually , manny had titles in 4 out of the 8 original weighclasses

i did'nt say one has to..so tell me the fighters that wards has to beat to have better carreer than pacman .. tell me how this would be possible as of right now
