I just saw a link posted from Nonito's FB page.

Promotions getting started for their showdown. Definitely going to be DONAIRE VS RIGONDEAUX early next year!!
Rigo fans better STFU after he gets demolished as well as give Donaire his credit!!
rigo's camp should give a public apology, if arum were to pick between donaire and rigo, we all now who the obvious choice is. rigo's camp hasn't got the balls to talk **** to donaire's camp, his wife is a former taekwondo collegiate champion, his dad is ex-military and former amatuer boxer, his brother is a former pro boxer, they'd kick rigo's camp anytime of the day
This fight kind of has upset written on it.
I'm leaning towards Rigo on this one.
Donaire's last couple of opponents have been horribly slow. Confidence boosters for sure, but not great fighters to prep for Rigo.
Whereas Rigo's last opponent is the perfect prep. A taller, orthodox, strong fighter with a good left hook. It landed and stunned him, but he didn't go down and recovered well, got a full 12 rounds in too.
well marroquin is horribly slow compared to donaire as well (hand and foot speed) and i don't believe he hits nearly as hard as donaire. if donaire is able to land his left as easy as marroquin was able his then i expect the fight to be fairly easy for donaire. but i think rigo does have the power to hurt donaire..i'm not going to lie. but i just think donaire has proven to have a better punch resistance while rigo has shown to have a shaky chin.
Fighting him will make all of this go away...I hear Donaire and his fans talk about what he would do to Rigondeaux but it is Donaire stalling and making excuses not to fight him
Make the damn fight and lets see what happens in the ring!
Good. Donaire is gonna knock this dude out, he is too chinny. I think some of these Cuban dudes are a little too hyped up. I'm talking about Gamboa and Rigondeaux. They are good, but not great.

Also, between the two I give Rigo all of the advantages except power. That power (left hook specifically) is really the only reason I hold back from saying it will be a blowout for Rigo. I mean every time I'm ready to write Donaire off as slightly above average (at 122lbs), boom he lands a killer left hook. I have to respect that power.
but if Rigo is smart enough to realize that that's really all Donaire's got that can trouble him, he should be able to bag this one. I feel Rigo can surprise him in there.
How about chin, experience?
As Donaire prep goes, Marroquin is probably better than Francisco Leal, even though Rob lost to him recently on telefutura.

gonna be another great latino night war rigondeaux!
hopefully the filipinos dont cry again lol nonito is the last flip standing
not really , brian viloria is still kicking ass (and should be top10 p4p) and so is nietes
Personally I think Rigo and Donaire is a more interesting matchup than Mares-Donaire.... I think Donaire would KO Mares. Mares has got quite the chin but not sure it could take Donaires power especially since hed be running in. Oh well looking forward to both.
You betting that Rigo will???

Awesome.
Sooner the better. Winner fights Mares.
how so? Mares is with GBP......not top rank... its similar to a mayweather/pac issue beefing promotions
I love watching Rigo's last 2 fights and the talent and skills are fantastic but Rigo's chin does not match up with Donaire's left hook at all. Merroquin had Rigo BADLY hurt twice and Merroquin has not shown to be a puncher against top OP. Donaire hits WAY harder than Merroquin. I see Donaire blowing out Rigo.
This is possible, but you know what we'd hear from sure:
1. Big deal, he beat an 11 fight rookie
2. It's not fair, he's too big, but don't wanna mess with guys his size

maybe the first time i have disagreed with one of your posts. but i think donaire fully manhandles him
Only time will tell, but I'm pretty high on Rigondeaux's skillset.
He doesn't over commit, take a whole lot of risks and Nonito will have to lead and play into Rigo's strengths. Rigo's chin will play a big part, he doesn't get hit too often, but he'll need to be able to handle some clean shots from Nonito. He certainly wont walk onto them like Darchinyan and Montiel though.
