Yes, I would be surprised if he went to 147 without stopping at 140 and I don't think he will do that. So far they are moving Broner along slowly but surely. As far as beating a welterweight goes that would depend on which welterweight he was going to fight. Paulie is a weak champion and maybe Broner could beat him. I think Broner loses to the better welterweights like Guerrero or Brook or even Bradley. He is a very good lightweight but welterweight is a big jump. He would have his hands full against 140 pounders like Rios, Garcia, and Matthysse who could take his punches and give him harder punches back. He may be a superstar but one KO of Demarco at 135 has not convinced me he can beat the best at 140 and 147. I would rate him the best at 135 today.
