I wish they could have got a response from Team Vazquez since Vazquez himself has been saying he would like the fight.... I think Gamboa would work too depending on how he looks next time out and at 35.... Its crazy Burns needs all this prep time and Abril is willing to step in off of an almost year layoff... Its not like Abril has a ton of options but still props to him Yeah Abril had some bad luck last month though. He was suppose to fight Top 10 LW Sharif Bogere, who got injured. I just hope that WBA title is on the line for Broner-Abril. Abril is a big risk, never in a million years did I think Broner would fight Abril.

So they offered Vazquez the fight for November, and instead they fought DeMarco. Alright, I don't know why Vazquez would turn down the shot to fight one of the best young fighters in the sport in an HBO main event. It could happen. I still see Gamboa fighting Vazquez instead, with Broner fighting Abril and Burns, if Burns finally wants to fight Broner. Why should Burns have to go to the US? The fight would be huge event in Scotland and fill a large venue, while Broner can't draw flies in the US. are you getting paid out of the fight? so why does it matter where it occurs to you? the fact is burns didn't want to drop his silly fight in jan and once again it seems doesn't want to fight broner. you can argue location all day but those are the facts.

I agree Abril is a hood fight but I think Vasquez is the tougher fight for Broner. I think he beats both tho and I would love to see both but the Vasquez fight probably won't happen. I concur.....

Abril is the same high risk low reward fight that Vazquez is, and should have just beaten Rios, the only guy to do that so far. Abril is a good fight. Plus in an article PBP linked me to it says Eric Gomez GB's matchmaker offered Team Vazquez 350,000 to fight and they turned it down.... Nobody from Team Vazquez/Zanfer could be reached to comment at the time of that writing so I don't know how true it is... But it seems like a possibility of that fight happening from reading that

135 will be a tune up weight class for Broner. He should take his time though. He's only 23. He already beat the best at 135...beat Burns, Abril and maybe Gamboa, then step up to 140. HBO and Golden Boy should be smart about this. Time his entrance at 140 to 147 around the time when Mayweather and Pacquiao are on their way out. There are some GREAT fights for Broner at those weight classes. And if he keeps backing it up in the ring, the sport can have a new guy to rally around. Imagine if Broner stays undefeated, and Canelo stays undefeated, and Broner can make his way up to 154 and fight Canelo? Major!

Hbo nor gbp will put one of their top potentials on a card that doesn't occur at a prime time for boxing, not gonna happen.

This fight has close to zero chance of happening thanks to the golden boy/top rank lockout. I'll settle for him beating abril and burns. Vazquez isn't really with Top Rank....

I think Vasquez would be a tough fight for him but otherwise, yea that division is beneath him when it comes to top fighters. 140 will make or break him. Vazquez will fight Gamboa next year, mark my words. He's with Zanfer, who works closely with Top Rank, who works closely with 50 it seems. Broner's about Abril anyway, who's the same high risk low reward type of fight anyway, and is just as proven, if not more so.

He's having trouble making 135? Vasquez would be a good opponent for him at 135, or he could go to Scotland to fight Burns. But he'll duck Vasquez and he'll never fight outside the USA. burns had a chance and chose to take a ****ty fight in jan i believe, so broner had to settle with abril.
