What people are failing to acknowledge is the actions Pacquiao was taking to win the fight is what lead to him getting knocked the fuck out. He was opening up trying to hurt Marquez, obviously Marquez couldn't keep pace ( so the rounds slipped out of his grasp) but he was able to counter him with big shots.
Manny was able to hit without getting hit by the counter, Marquez. That appeared to be their plan and it was working perfectly. Marquez seemed to be lost.
Once Marquez was hurt and in trouble, Manny got overconfident and got a bit reckless in there and got hit with the perfect punch.
That play there could have gone the other way around, easily. Marquez usually takes a step back so that he would not get hit hard then counters. In that play, he appeared to go for broke and time Manny. Now if Manny would have thrown his left instead of his right, Marquez who was also moving forward, would have more than likely gone down.
Manny didn't throw his money punch during that sequence while Marquez took the bigger risk on that play and it paid off big time for him.
unfortunately nobody clicked your link (your title is partly responsible and unnecessary for the interview), because that was actually a very good interview. thanks for the link. to embed: click on "share" below the video, then "embed," then copy and paste what's in the text box.
I'll drop the link on the sticky thread for pacquiao-marquez iv, since this thread may be deleted.
Lmao You musta forgot that dont matter for sh*t since he still got knocked the fk out nobody saying that he's any less for it, if anything he wont be seen as this invincible creature anymore anybody can get their lights put out just ask Lennox Lewis.
marquez in essence did land the perfect lucky punch.
before the KO shot happened i saw a lot of posters (included in the whose the most unbiased besteybest poster in all of the scene) say marquez is done pacquiao is killing him.
i highly favor pac in a fifth fight.
big time. and the vegas odds will show it.
I really hope that the line makers are that stupid. Pacquiao may have doing well in the fight but that was a career ending ko. Manny will never be the same after that, he's finished, sorry to break it to you. Arum is cashing Pacquiao out now.
I wouldn't say "beating the crap out of" but he was winning the fight and starting to gain even more momentum toward a stoppage victory himself, but got caught. Depending on how he recovers, he still may be able to beat Marquez in a 5th fight, time will till. Great fight by both fighters.
Seriously, this in one loss that Manny wont be able to redeem. Marquez would be plain stupid to take a fifth fight against Manny. He has proved he can outbox manny and now he can knock him out. Nothing left to prove. Even though i would prefer the 5th fight in comparison to some of the fights being made at the moment.
Well last time I checked, Pacuiao refused to fight Mayweater 1st over drug testing, then over a stadium not being built, then finally because $40 million wasn't enough. I also remember Mayweather giving JMM a 12 round boxing lesson.
Both fighters or 'teams' are guilty of backing away from the fight. And May's win over Marquez can't really be compared. But May beats Manny, ive always said it. Even when Manny is knocking out Cotto and using Margarito as a punch bag. There's no boxer in this generation who competes with Mayweather.

PAC is still a top fighter and still beats Floyd senseless IMO.
But we'll never get to see it u fortunately.
I agree Pac is still p4p one of the best, but he aint got a chance in hell against Mayweather. If Marquez can out think Manny then Mayweather will do so with more style.

Pacquiao was as accurate as I've ever seen him and Marquez was taking in huge gulps of air by the 5th round, if it wasn't for that beautiful right hand counter, we might be talking about JMM getting stopped in 6 or 7 rounds. That's boxing. Great fighters lose, some great fighters get KO'd. All great fighters fight the best. No doubt, both men are warriors and should be held in the highest regard, unlike many "great" fighters out there who refuse to fight the best.Well last time I checked, Pacuiao refused to fight Mayweater 1st over drug testing, then over a stadium not being built, then finally because $40 million wasn't enough. pacquiao was not fighting a great fight from a technical standpoint. Pacquiao looked great physically, and he was obviously landing some good shots of his own. He was making mistakes all throughout the fight though. That's why he was knocked down in the 3rd and eventually out cold in the 6th. I don't think that he should retire as of now but that day is approaching quickly. He definitely should take more than 6 months off imo.
he needs to hire floyd sr for some defense (imagine that), roach has had a tough year... Pac definately needs to take some time off and away from distractions and heal! I heard he said in an interview that he saw emanuel steward telling him to work on his defense while he was out cold... Jk
Pacquiao was winning by one point in a fight that wasn't even halfway complete at the time of the KO. And Marquez KD of Pacquiao was way worse than his own. It's a total myth that Pac was beating the sh*t out of Marquez before the knockout punch.
