I was just watching Maidana- Ortiz and Ortiz at the interview at the end said some like that, hey I'd rather it be like this than end up on the floor or not being able to speak properly in the future.
Maidana has heavy hands and he is taking the blows, so I can't say anything.
Danny Williams has to be up there, the guy had a dislocated shoulder and was literally fighting with one arm and still got the KO, many corners would have thrown in the towel or quit.
Gatti showed a lot of heart vs Ward
Both Marquez-Katsidis.
Yours?
I would have to agree. Khan, as weak chinned as he is, puts it all out there... He get's knocked the **** out, but he has went out on his shield each time.
Khan has huge heart
He has a weak chin but strong heart...How he survived against Maidana I will never know
Even after his Knock downs vs Garcia he got up and Vs Prescott he tried
diego corrales. went after his step dad for stoppping the floyd fight. begged the doc not to stop the first casamayor fight. castillo fight. jumped 2 divisons his last fight and got the hell beat out of him by clottey but never backed down. when fighters say they'd rather die than lose, i believe corrales.
i love morales but he did quit against pac. i could never see diego doing that.
Khan really does have heart, he never quits , he tries to take the toughest fights even against big punchers. He's even taken paycuts, and has fought tough opponents in their back yard
watch the c. hernadez, castillo I, and agustus fights.
He's had a few tough fights no doubt but he was never getting busted up in any of them. He gets props for fighting with a torn shoulder but he wasn't getting brutalized with concussive bombs like Ortiz was against Maidana.
Ortiz may be the boxer least likely to go out on his shield but to say he lacks heart compared to a fighter who has never been in that position is stupid in my opinion. And like I said, I'm no Ortiz fan. I dislike Amir Khan but there is a guy who has heart when he is fighting. And I can say that because I've seen him fight through adversity.
Too many fighters to list that have heart, hell if they step in the ring they got more heart than most! First fighters that come to mind are Katsidis, Gatti (RIP), Guerrero, Pac.
Dude, you must be a loyal fan or something, the way he quit Maidana was a joke. Not getting up from the stool after a round unless it is serious is a joke.
Loads of people mentioning Margarito, I see where you are coming from, he has taken a few beatings. Also takes a lot of heart and guts and cheat the way he did vs Cotto on a grand scale.
Vitali showed a lot of heart, some guy has him in his signature, the guys eye was busted but was gutted when the referee stopped the fight.
Floyd and Ward not being to show that they have guts is due to their skill, do you want to them to let other people hit them in the face to prove it?
Floyd has a lot of courage, I could never turn down $40m dollars fight even if it was vs a prime Pacman
Not a fan of Ortiz but I'm not gonna hate on him for having the sense to know when he is beaten. And obviously I don't want Ward or Mayweather to take beatings to prove they have heart. I'm just pointing out that they havnt had to go through the adversity to prove whether or not its true.
You might have a point when the fighters you mentioned get knocked down 3 times in a round and continue or when they get their jaw broken in 2 places and continue.

ppl really listing ortiz? the guy lacks more heart than almost anyone in boxing.
pac, jmm, berto, darchiniyan, mares, mayweather, hopkins, cunningham, adamek, froch, ward all have massive heart. i know hes retired but i need to mention paul williams too, the man was all heart.

When was Mayweather ever on the end of a severe beating where he had to show heart? When has Ward?
If you want to talk about a fighter without heart maybe start with the guy in your avi. He wasn't taking nowhere near the beating Ortiz was against Maidana and he asked the ref to get him out of there

Jury is still out on Ortiz, specially after Maidana some may even argue his last fight
Ortiz is the perfect example of a fighter who has heart and also the common sense to know when he is beat. He continued to fight for a few rounds with a broken jaw but had the sense to know when he was bested. There was a good chance if he had fought till the end he would never be able to fight again. I believe he is still having problems with his jaw. Perfect example of a corner not looking out for their fighter.
Michael Farenas showed how much heart he had last Saturday. JCC showed heart in the 12th round vs. Martinez

Some guys are willing to die in the ring and some are not. I got no problem with any fighter realizing he is beat and throwing in the towel. However I do have the highest respect for a fighter who is willing to risk everything in order to win. Ortiz has proved he has heart and he has also proved he has common sense.
Too many fighters to mention but I will mention Jeff Lacey. Took a couple of very bad beatings and never quit and his career was shortened as a result of it.
