There's no way in hell that beating a shot Cotto in a tough competitive fight puts Mayweather on top of the p4p list.
Broner on 5?
Guerrero?
Worst list I've seen.
In an older ring ratins update article about making Mayweather/Pacquiao a tie for p4p, it says,
One question that emerged after Floyd Mayweather Jr. defeated Miguel Cotto on Saturday was sure to stir the passions of many fans: Did Mayweather do enough to supplant Manny Pacquiao atop THE RING’s pound-for-pound list?
Members of THE RING Ratings Panel pushed for Mayweather to become No. 1, citing his hard-fought but convincing victory over the top junior middleweight in the world.
Another argument against Pacquiao is that many people believe he was given a gift victory over Juan Manuel Marquez in his most-recent fight, the same Marquez who was overwhelmed by Mayweather.
Members of the Editorial Board leaned the other direction, pointing out that Mayweather had much more trouble with Cotto than Pacquiao did. The editors initially preferred to wait to see how Pacquiao looks against Tim Bradley on June 9 in Las Vegas before making a decision.
This suggest the ratings panel had some input on p4p lists, but the editorial board had the final decision.
But now apparently the p4p list is compiled solely by Chuck Giampa. In the new ring rating update article, there's no mention of the editorial board and it says the ratings panel has no input.
Due to the recent activity among elite fighters in the past few months, here is Giampa’s updated Pound-for-Pound Top 10 list (Editor’s Note: the mythical pound-for-pound rankings are not compiled with input from the Ratings Panel as the divisional ratings are):
I think this is a new change, which might explain the completely different p4p list from last week.
how in bloodly hell is pac in anybodies top 10???? he didn't get his ass whooped, he got put to sleep.
pac's last four fights...1.mosley: looked stupid and exposed again 2. jmm III: outboxed, 3. bradley: outworked and outboxed 4. jmm IV: ktfo!!!!
Any boxer can be put to sleep especially if they try make the fight like Pac did and Pac was ahead on points anyway.
Pac is top 5 still as he challenges himself. Not many fighters fight guys of the calibre of JMM and Bradley and if you do you might lose after 7 years unbeaten.
Donaire hasn't really done much as of late I agree him being dropped Nishioka is a nice name on the resume and decent opponent but we all know he was past it but still the only fight for him worth a mention since Montiel
Why is floyds backside always cemented to that no1 spot and he dont do anything to earn it?
JMM should be above Floyd. Floyd beating Pac would have made Floyd a God of boxing. So why doesnt JMM beating Pac give JMM God status?
:lol1: :lol1:

How the **** are Adrian Broner and Pacquiao, who just got KTFO, ranked above Wladimir Klitschko, who's been running things in his division for nearly a decade?
This list is a bad joke.
i don't really care about p4p lists (hardly pay attention to them), but i thought i'd say something.
marquez deserves the #1 spot for the time being. mayweather is the best fighter in the world, but he's been too inactive for my liking to keep him at #1. ward, as great as he is, fought once in 2012, and destroyed a clearly drained dawson. he's def top 3 without a doubt. broner beat demarco and now he's no. 5? also, how many bumps did donaire get when he KO'ed montiel? and how many bumps did martinez get when he KO'ed williams? if those guys got bumps, how can marquez not get the #1 spot for KO'ing the #1 p4p fighter (according to ring, pacquaio shared it with mayweather).
i just don't get that. some say it's overall resume they look at, others say it's the hypothetical "if all fighters were the same size, the #1 spot would be to the most skilled guy". i just don't understand how after guerrero beats an inactive berto and broner beats demarco, they get some serious spots on this list. while marquez KO's their #1 ranked fighter (shared w/mayweather) and doesn't get the top spot, for the time being. haha, i guess it's why i don't really pay attention to things like this. it's all subjective ratings/rankings.
The US fighters seem to get a fast-forward lift into the rankings. Is it a pfp list or a combined US top 10 & pfp top 10?
Ward - fine, although fighting once in 2012 against a drained fighter isn't particularly impressive
Mayweather - mostly inactive, fighting a past prime Cotto who lost his next fight
Bradley - inactive, also lost his last fight
Guerrero - kind of quick onto the list imo, beat an inactive Berto caught for failing drug test
Broner - okay but again he's fast-forwarded into the top 10 very fast and didn't even make weight for one of his fights
Donaire - fair enough listed as Phillipines but doesn't he box for for the US?
Explain Pacquiao and Bradley on the list then? They could have easily left them off.
MAYBE BC THEY ARE TWO OF THE BEST IN THE WORLD ?
pac may have been koed but he was clearly wining the fight I GAVE HIM EVERY ROUN BESIDES 3
bradley who can beat him besides pac, maybe jmm maybe the ghost ?
and no one knows for sure so i def have bradley 7 or 8
broner no way , eventually yes but not now
floyd at 1?
andre ward is the best fighter on earth hands down

why would they be left off?
broner and guerrero havent dont nothing to warrant them being on the list over bradley or pacquiao even up to now. heck they dont even have the right to be on this list over carl froch and abner mares.
anybody with a modicum of intelligence and can see this is golden boy/ al haymon political maneuvering behind the scenes.
