GBP dropping hints for Cinco De Mayo card

Oscar Dela Hoya was just asked on espn deportes boxing show A LOS GOLPES to drop a hint on Canelo's next opponent. Simply said GBP wants to bring back those cards where every fight could be a legitimate main event. Compared it to When Chavez and Mike Tyson would be on the same card. He was asked whether it would be Cotto, but disregarded, so they followed up by throwing Austin Trouts name out there which was met a bigger look of disregard. Said the decision of Canelo's opponent would surprise everyone, due the fact everyone will consider it a dangerous fight for Canelo when they anounce it. Sounds like another Mayweather and Canelo co-feature. Best guess is Mayweather fights Guerrero, and Canelo vs ? Can't be Martinez, he's fighting in March, and Angulo isn't ready. I know Oscar has blown things up before only to leave us all pissed off, so I'm thinking it'll either be James Kirkland, or a possibly even Keith Thurman. Thoughts?

May 4th is the date. I want to see Canelo / Trout. I think its still to early for Canelo to fight Floyd

I wouldn't mind Kirkland or Angulo, we all know he won't fight Austin Trout. Either would be sweet, but chances are it's gonna be Maidana. The Lopez fight proved these guys have no shame.

Roger Mayweather keeps talking about Bradley, and it's worrying me. We don't need to see that fight. Guerrero would be just fine! Money May/The Ghost Canelo/Angulo(?) Put Gamboa on that card, too, and it's an epic night of boxing and a BBQ party! -- Bradley is still with TR and so is Marquez, I think you can count both of them out.

I am almost Positive it will be Maywather vs Guerrero for Mayweather's first fight back, as for Canelo...it could be Angulo especially if he can look impressive again on Saturday

Yeah he said fighting Josesito Lopez was "history". I don't listen to ODLH when he talks too much anymore. To be fair he was right, I've never seen before that day a LMW fighting against a LWW.

is floyd and canelo definitely both fighting on may 5 on the same card? About a week ago GBP said they reserved the date because Mayweather was going to fight then. Now they are hinting that Canelo will as well, but it sounds like its a double header.

Floyd and Canelo on the same card with the winner going on to fight the other winner later on in September (remember 2 may fights in 2013). Kind of like a mini tournament around 147/154, sounds good.

Don't think it's going to be Mayweather. If GBP is really trying to sell him as the next best thing from Mexico then they will keep him away from Mayweather. Dela Hoya and Mayweather made a name for themselves fighting the right names at the right time, and right now is not the time for Canelo to face Mayweather.
