That's right if Mayweather fights Canelo, he gets Mayweather'd.
Con's
-Mayweather is past prime, almost 36 years old.
-Mayweather not as mobile as he used to be which is very crucial against someone like Canelo. Mayweather on the ropes trying to duck/weave is Canelo's wet dream.
-Mayweather doesn't have the power to keep Canelo off of him. Without the power/movement, Canelo can potentially walk Floyd down and punish him.
-Floyd did not have a good showing against Cotto at 154lb. Although Mayweather definitely won, we saw Cotto landing some big shots. 154lb was not a good weight for Mayweather.
:lol1: Money May gave Canelo a good spanking the night. The fight wasn't even close. That was one of the easiest wins of Floyd's career. I don't think Alvarez won a single round.
It was a complete shutout, Floyd definitely schooled the kid and yet a judge, prolly on Canelo’s or Dela hoya’s payroll scored the fight for Alvarez lol!

Calm down bro, you take this ***** way to seriously. You know there's a life outside of boxing right? Either way, Floyd fights Bradley because he is the easiest of all the options he has infront of him right now and Bradley is the champion on paper so his fans have a way to back up his decision.
Guerrero probably KO's Floyd, there I said it.
lol...........
I've always been saying. Floyd will ''Never'' fight canelo. I'm 200% sure. Floyd will move down to 140lb
I don't think he can make 140 that easy without "damaging" his physique. He should stay at 147. If he wants to go below he should do catch-weights. After Robert he should fight Bradley at 147 if it can be made. It would be a good scrap - Devon Alexander, not so much. A rematch with Marquez could also be great since Marquez would be forced to take more risky chances.
I agree with the TS....Mayweather loses easily to Canelo in Texas...and Texas only...Canelo could land 1 punch per round and Mayweather 100 and somehow he would win a UD
:bottle::bottle::bottle:
One of my Concerns is Mayweather won't be able to keep Canelo off of him. He doesn't throw many combinations and isn't mobile. Sure, Mayweathers defense is good but is it good enough against a BIGGER and stronger guy?
I also question Mayweathers stamina. Mayweather was resting against the ropes too many times against Cotto. That's not going to work, Canelo is going to tare that body apart.
I'm a Mayweather fan and I share your thoughts/concerns IF Mayweather decides to fight Canelo. Like I wrote earlier: Lopez didn't do anything wrong against Canelo besides being on the ropes a few times, he covered up well and hit Canelo flush with some good combinations. Canelo just walked and punched right through him because of size alone - and size is the only factor, but a BIG factor, when fighting Canelo. He's just much more physical and powerful than an average-sized welterweight like Floyd. Floyd isn't even a big welter. I think Canelo will punch through Floyd's defense - and if he lands 80% of his powershots on Floyd's shoulders and elbows for 8-10 rounds it's still going to show in the late championship rounds. That sh*t hurts.
I haven't seen last nights main event with Trout vs Canelo but you guys make it sound like Trout got robbed by the judges or something. Was the scorecards really that way off?!
It was like Rigo vs Donaire....Canelo landing flashy power..Trout landing boring jabs.
And even 1 knockdown like that fight....

These "big shots" that Cotto was landing were jabs and a some body shots.......
If Canelo beats a Top fighter at his weight like Trout, I say bring on Mayweather-Canelo, because it'll be a legit big fight then.
If Floyd is what he was last May against Cotto when he returns, than he'll be fine. Watch his footwork, hand speed, athleticism, and overall ability in September 2009 and May 2010 against Marquez and Mosley, and than watch his footwork, hand speed, and athleticism/ability in his fight against Cotto.
The footwork was about the same, the hand speed was the same, his athleticism and ability were also about the same. Floyd still has I think 2 years left of top fighting, assuming he doesn't all of a sudden become shot or done over night. Who knows though???
I agree. I didn't really see any "big shots". The nose-bleeding came from the crisp jabs. Emanuel Steward once said that Cotto's jabs are like straight right hands - very powerful. Makes sense since Cotto really is left-handed fighter.
Also, don't forget that Cotto requested 10oz gloves for his fight with Mayweather. Mayweather wanted 8oz. Even though Floyd 'only' came in at 150-151, I still think he'll be faster and more mobile at 147 against Robert, especially with 8oz gloves.
However, I still agree with the TS. I'm afraid that Canelo will be walking Floyd down and I don't think Floyd will win that fight with throwing only one precise punch at a time. Floyd should stick to 147 or 150 catchweight fights at maximum.

Floyds like a cherry picking charity case. Almost 36? JMM just beat Pac aged 39. Fighters last longer nowadays. Humans live so much longer so of course humans primes will be a bit longer. Plus Floyd dont get hit so his ring career should last longer anyway, just an excuse considering SSM can fight Canelo, no excuses. Just makes Floyd look such a charity case.
So Canelo may be a tough fight for Floyd, so what. Its part and parcel of being a boxer and so called one of the best fighters in the world. JMM is confident of stepping up 2 divisions to beat Floyd so Floyd must develop some of the confidence guys like JMM has. Stop having a defeatest attitude.
If Floyd cant fight guys like canelo, then Floyd aint no best fighter on the planet.
This is one of the best threads I've seen on why Canelo can win against Mayweather...
NSB needs Canelo to validate himself by fighting someone that they consider to be a dangerous opponent for him because they lack the ability to see his talent and skill until he's already proven it. If these people were recruiters or scouts, they wouldn't sign any prospects worth a sh1t because someone that can actually recognize talent would have already signed them.
Back to the topic... Canelo's physical strength, combinations, timing, accuracy, hand speed, body punching, and offensive mentality could spell the end to Mayweather's undefeated record. Mayweeather lacks the consistent lateral movement that he would need to avoid Canelo's brutal onslaught.
I can see Canelo imposing his will on Floyd, forcing him to the ropes, and letting his combinations loose on him. Mayweather has a great inside defense, but Canelo's strength and solid punch selection for his combinations would have him breaking his defense down without Floyd being able to adjust to continually move laterally as he did in JLC II (he'll be stuck having to defend and counter off the ropes like he had to in JLC II). Mayweather would still score points due to Canelo's disregard for defense due to not respecting Mayweather's power so I can see Floyd eeking a decision, but it'd be the most grueling fight he's ever had.
This right here. I've read somewhere that Canelo twitted the Floyd deal is almost done. I'm almost certain Floyd will end up fighting Guerrero. If Floyd/Canelo is true, Floyd will get nothing but 110% respect from me because that's the fight to be made right now.
Canelo would finally be the match we've all been waiting for. It would be the best opponent Floyd goes up against in a very long time.
