What to do with Miguel Vazquez

I believe both promotional companies have champions at different weight divisions whose job it is to secure a title and hold on to it for bigger names within the company who are coming up. I believe Miguel Vazquez is one of these fighters. I believe his job is to hold on to that belt and then Top Rank matches him against a guy who they think can be a future star. They tried that yesterday, but good for Vazquez for winning. I have seen this done so many times before, so I am pretty sure that is exactly what his role is. Vazquez will probably be used for Gamboa or any other fighters Top Rank is grooming at 130-135. For instance, I believe Ponce will be used for some of the 122-126 fighters Golden Boy has coming up. So, like I said these dudes win the belts, do the dirty work, and hold on to them for the up and coming fighters who are groomed by the promotional companies. Erik Morales had this done to him at 140 with Golden Boy, Ponce with JuanMa at Top Rank, etc.

Do you put him in the mix with fights against Broner, Burns, or Abril? He would dominate all of them. Also Omar Navarez is a bad comparison.

I like him. Nothing more needs to be said. I have no interest in explaining his style. He does what he needs to to win.

Boring but very effective at what he does

Miguel Vazquez is skilled man! He makes boring fights but I can appreciate his talent. He runs so much that he trips on his own feet while backing up and still he is able to throw punches and connect, (although not hard cause he is out of balance). I have no idea how he does it but that requires some kind of special skills. lol Roy Jones quotes on Vazquez (or something very close) "I have seen him run so much that the Ref had to chase him down to raise his hand at the end of the fight" Roy: "I am going to start calling him the water moccasin" Lampley: "Water moccasin?" Roy: "Yeah, it ain't cute but it's deadly" I like how he frustrates the **** out of people in the ring so I wouldn't mind seeing him again! Slick MOFO for sure!

There's no right or wrong style to use in a boxing ring. Miguel Vasquez has a style that is very unappealing but he is good at it and he wins fights. He shouldn't be penalized for winning. And the more I watch him, the more he grows on me. I blame the opponents for being scared of being countered and not being able to cut off the ring as to why his fights are "boring". Gesta's lack of skill deserves just as much of the blame as Vasquez' style of fighting as to why that fight was a snoozer.
