I mean he has what? Felix Trinidad? Fat Oscar? Tarver? Pavlik? Pascal?
Marquez has Pacquiao 4x, Barrera, Gainer, John, Casamayor, and Diaz
Misleading list because you named only people b- hop beat but when mentioing marquez you mentioned people he lost to aswel.
Outside of that 1 win over a declining Pac who was coming off a loss, marquez doesnt have any other great win. The next best would be over a washed up Barrera who floored and outlanded Marquez and Lederman had Marquez losing. Outside that, past it Csa maybe?
Hopkins has more ins over prime fighters so he ranks higher.
I prefer Juans style over Bernards. Even though Juan wants to counter he doesn't run to set that senerio up, he boxes! Bernard was fine earlier in his career but the way he choose to perform in the past 8 to 9 years does nothing for me! The guy became a boring fighter! Ray.
Lol @ doesn't count, now I know you're trolling. I guess the Norwood and John fights don't count either.
Marquez was robbed in the Norwood fight even Harold lederman gave the fight to Marquez.
B-Hop simply gets wayyyy too much hate. In this day & age, B-Hop was actually the atg that was cherrypicked.
He was supposed to be Tito's stepping stone to Rpy Jones. Peaple forget that.
He was supposed to be ko'd by Pavlik, people forget that.
He had no business challenging Tarver. (Who was the 1st to wreck the great Roy Jones). People forget that.
He won a major world title at 46, beating a real world champ. Bernard Hopkins is the greatest active fighter, period.
Marquez has an argument imo of being the second greatest active fighter. I like fighters. The guys that fight the best.
Yes Marquez lost to Floyd, but he ko'd Pacman, widely considered the greatest active fighter before the ko.
He's fought them both & the fact is he was handicapped against them both fighting them in their weight class 2 above his own, that's great. Daring to be great win or lose.
They are supposed to be greater than him, yet they ducked each other while he fought them both. How can boxing fans ignore the truth. He fought them both, handicapped & achieved greatness with his destruction of Pacman. IMO replacing Pacman as the 2nd greatest active fighter, right behind B-Hop.
Wow you would have to be a complete idiot to think that. Never mind that the Jones and Taylor fights were 15 undefeated years apart and he demolished both of the guys who Brutally KO'd Jones and Taylor. Plus the fact that he was 46 when he fought Calslappy and half the people think he won. Most guys fight 1-2 big names in a career Hopkins fought about 12 and beat most if not all. Even the ones he lost were disputed.
The only fights he clearly lost were Jones when he first started and Dawson 20 years later.
You Sr are blind Calzaghe beat him clearly take this :bottle:
the fact he start boxing late and his style allow him to stay around longer,he is a very crafty boxer and know all the dirty tricks
Marquesz was 19 when he start knocking guy all over,at the same age Hopkins was getting his salad tossed, when he decide to take a long vacation in jail.any way is my point of view, dont have to agree moron.

... The Freddie Norwood fight .... whatever, I can't comment, as I haven't seen the fight. But, the Chris John fight I have seen. JMM CLEARLY won that fight no less than 116-112. That decision was completely fixed. Chris John got beat. They robbed Marquez blind. Period.
@Skittlez
Only hard core boxing fans remember light weights..
Casuals don't remember light weights..
JMM and Pacquaio WILL NOT be remembered by casuals..
they will be remembered by posters on sites like this 40 years from now..
LOL @ skittlez. OK man, we all now know that you have lost touch with reality.
JMM might not be remembered by casuals, Manny Pacquiao will be remembered by all .... Who are you trying to kid. Really man??? Seriously, I can't even believe you wrote that rubbish, let alone actually believe that yourself.
P.S., ... about your sig, .... please don't associate Rios in the same sentence as Duran .... unless your in a comedy forum that is!
Maybe Jones beat him clearly but not Calzaghe and Taylor. And Marquez was dominated by Mayweather so he's not arguably undefeated.
Mayweather fight doesn't count Floyd cheat, he didn't respect the catch weight.
Put it this way. We're 2 weeks removed from Marquez's greatest achievement and Hopkins lost his last 2 fights and is still winning handily. If it was the other way around Marquez wouldn't have 1 vote.
Is close,Marquez is arguably undefeated Hopkins lost his biggest fights, Calzaghe, Jones and Taylor, they all beat him clearly.

BHOP and its not even close
BHOP has one of the most stacked resumes of all time
JMM has one elite win and needed Memo
I can't believe I'm agreeing with Check Hooks. But he's right lol
