1. Floyd Mayweather (43-0-0, 26 KOs)
Considered the pound-for-pound best boxer on the planet by most boxing fans, Mayweather is in a class by himself when it comes to boxing technique. His defense is virtually flawless, and he's a lot better offensively than many give him credit for. It's no surprise that Mayweather is undefeated, as there is no better student of the game right now.
2. Andre Ward (26-0-0, 14 KOs)
Ward seems to be the next king of boxing, and his technical savvy has had a lot to do with his success inside the ring. Ward's most impressive performance was against Chad Dawson on Sept. 8, as "S.O.G" outclassed his bigger -- and also technically competent -- opponent, before finally putting him away in the 10th round.
3. Adrien Broner (25-0-0, 21 KOs)
Broner is arguably the most promising young star in boxing right now, and "The Problem's" future couldn't be any brighter. Unlike most technically savvy fighters, Broner also packs a lot of power in his punches, making him the likely heir to Mayweather's throne.
4. Sergio Martinez (50-2-2, 28 KOs)
Martinez is always fun to watch, and his performance during his last outing against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was quite entertaining. Like Mayweather, Martinez is a very hard target to find inside the ring, but he does have a few lapses every now then.
5. Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39 KOs)
Even though Mayweather gave Marquez a boxing lesson when the two met in 2009, "Dinamita" is still one of the most technically sound boxers around right now. Just ask Manny Pacquiao who has consistently struggled against the Mexican.
6. Austin Trout (26-0-0, 14 KOs)
Trout earned a lot of new fans with his Dec. 1 performance against Miguel Cotto, and he's arguably the best light-middleweight around right now. Austin proved he can keep his composure in a hostile situations against Cotto, out-boxing a more experienced veteran on his way to the biggest victory of his career.

:lol1:
i think its too premature to put bronner on the list ! especially since he has yet to fight anyone thats notworthy ! just remember the name AMIR KUNT ! and rember all the false praise he recieved just last yr becfore all his deficiantseas were put on display !
even though he lost i think mereno should be up there some where !
Anselmo Moreno?
Or is everybody off the bandwagon cause of the Mares fight?
I remember he had like 2-3 fans on this so-called bandwagon. Nobody agreed that he was a top 10 P4P fighter. I definitely opposed to it completely.
I don't think he's very technical BTW, just awkward. People are throwing in some non-technical fighters though so I guess you could say Moreno.
It's hard to put Gamboa there for me due to how reckless he can be. Donaire is more flash/talent/speed than technique imo...
Floyd 1st.
Rigo and Ward tied for 2nd/3rd
Lara 4th and Wlad 5th
There's some guys out there who are technically sound so this is just a who's who imo. Canelo the way he throws punches is damn near perfect sometimes but he's there to be hit. JMM might be there depending on how he looks.
Yea Sergio needs to not be on that list, Wlad should certainly be in his place and probably 2 or 3 I will say 3 because Ward is a bit more versatile but I couldn't fault anyone putting him 2, then JMM 4, then 5 or 6 you could go with a few different guys Broner, Rigondeaux, Trout, some people might say Bradley (even though I think he gets wide and sloppy), B-Hop even at this late stage he is technically proficient.
For me the 3 most technically sound fighters in the game are:
#1 - Floyd
#2 - JMM
#3 - Ward
After that it can be debated but the boxing skill these guys possess is special.
I love Martinez but I think he is not a Technical fighter... Here's my top 6
1. Floyd
2. Rigo
3. Donaire
4. Ward
5-6. Gamboa / Marquez / Vlad
You can't say Martinez does not belong there, and then say Gamboa.
Donaire looks for one punch, I wouldn't call them technical.
Sergio seems so out of place there. And B-Hop not having a place at all there is crazy.
he's still got the craft, but his reflexes and handspeed aren't what they used to be. he paws / slaps a bit more now. and he hardly throws.
he's all but retired, anyway.
i put him on my list of recent technicians, though.
this isn't in order, but i'd include
mayweather jr
wladimir klitschko
andre ward
canelo alvarez (he's still there to be hit, but his offense is very technical. he really turns his punches over)
guillermo rigondeaux
juan manuel marquez (amazing combinations and counterpunching, but he's still there to get hit.)
some great recent technicians:
winky wright
ivan calderon
bernard hopkins
jim toney (burger king!)
and then there's the pantheon of technique
angulo
provodnikov
abraham
huck
juanma's chin.
Nice rearrangement. :fing02:
Interesting that Rigo didn't make the list, but Broner did, when "The Problem" should be pulling up the rear. I mean, even with the listed names, no way Adrien should be ahead of JMM.
agreed, If BHop were younger i'd list him ahead of Broner as well.
i'd put jmm at 3, rigondeaux at 4, broner at 6,, wlad at 5 and take sergio and trout off.
