So sick of watching greats like Smoky Frazier, Gatti and other greats ending up living miserable lives. The Organizations collect millions in sanctions, penalties, etc and none of those funds to back to the boxers that made them the money. While Sulaiman and others like him make themselves millions from the blood of our heroes, the ones who produced those moneys die living like dogs. They should be accountable for those.

Wilfredo gave us great fights for more than 20 yrs, so where is his retirement money? Some don't needed, but we should take care of the ones who do.
Didn't Gatti have something like $3 million in the bank? Hardly living like a dog.
WBC announced that they are setting up a pension fund for boxers not long ago.
If a fighter blows all his money why blame the orgs? Their promoters take a much bigger split.
A fighter that makes a mass fortune would be better off having a financial advisor.
It's the fighters that fight all there careers and make peanuts that should get the most help.

I also think its up to fighters and their managers to realise that they are the asset and start negotiating these retirement deals instead of being short sighted and looking for the biggest bucks.
Also its worth remembering that most sports only the highest level will offer support in retirement due to the fact that they have such short careers. Most fighters with good judgement and forward planning are able to remain comfortable after they retire.
You're right, but it would take a fighters union to establish something like this. And because boxers are in direct competition with each other, it's too easy for the fat cats to divide and rule.
