Trout won, but I had it closer than the cards and closer than Floyd-Cotto. Floyd beat Cotto 9-3, Trout beat him 8-4/7-5.
Still though, Trout made me a fan tonight. He is the real deal. Canelo-Trout SHOULD HAPPEN.
The scorecard were complete horse****. Even Trout said it. But he won the fight CLEARLY. A very solid 115-113.
He made Cotto very frustrate and didn't let Cotto do as much work as he wanted. Very awkward fighter.
i had Trout winning this fight before the fight, i said he was younger, bigger, n more skillful so i had him winning i even said by stoppage i felt like he could of stop him but he won easy
Cotto still was great champ but the end is here for his career
Cotto lost the fight. he didnt get outclassed though. Was alot of swing rounds. I think he should retire. He had a great career. made more money then everyone in his weight class except mayweather and pac and his career is probably 3rd best in this era behind may and pac again. Good fight though
Cotto thought he won!! While he was intervied they asked him what he thought of the decision and he responded" The fans here no who won the fight" All of MSG was silent after they heard this!!LMAO****en sore loser!! Hey Cotto thank your fans for buying your beat down!!!
The crowd was silent for most of the fight.
Trout silenced them.
He could have stopped Cotto IMO if he really forced the fight. There were times when Cotto was hurt to the body and backing up and Trout was walking him down but was still being cautious.
Guess he didn't want to risk it.

There was no plaster controversy. I was ringside for the first fight when both were prime. The rematch was a joke. Margarito had one eye and was totally shot.
To make matters worse, the bum Puerto Rican "doctor" stopped the fight after Tony had his best round in that **** rematch. I'm done w/ you.
you're right. a 3 weight world champion is a bum and a one weight world champion who got most of his biggest fights handed to him by playing the 'bad guy' role after he was banned for trying to use plaster in his hand wraps is "world class".....you're a wise and rational man.
boxing lesson without the last 3 rounds. what happened in the last 3 rounds of this fight? beat down. we know why they stopped it. not to protect margarito but to protect cotto.
???
They stopped it because medical clearance for Margarito's eye had been a big controversy before the fight and it was getting messed up during the fight. In other circumstances they might have let Margo fight on, but there is a duty of care.
Regardless, I think Cotto would have held on this time against one-eyed Marg, he looked fresher and had taken less punishment than in the first 8 rounds of the first fight.
Cotto had one too many burritos during training camp thats for sure
Trout's style was just all wrong for Cotto. Nothing he could do. Plus, it was the first time he fought a legit 154 pounder.
I gave Cotto round 9, but "dominant" isn't a word I'd use to describe Trout's performance. He was winning the rounds but Cotto was always in them for long periods - hence Cotto's reaction at the end.
Dominant is definitely a word I'd use.
He outlanded him, landing cleaner, more effective punches in the majority of the rounds.
Must we revisit the whole plaster controversy again?
And I was actually ringside at the garden when Cotto gave him a boxing lesson last year.

I red K'd you. Cotto was never that good. He's been overrated his entire career.
I don't think Round 1 was close, I had Trout clearly winning that.
I had him winning round 2 aswell.
The next few were close and then after 6 he dominated.

I thought Trout won. I didn't do a round by round but the first half of the fight was close competitive rounds but Trout dominated the second half of the fight and closed the show.
Clear victory
