So after watching Berto louse the joint up Saturday. Yes, I said louse the joint up! Robert did not impress me nor has he ever impressed me. He fought a dirty fight and showed how Berto has failed to mature. Berto had the tools to outbox him clearly with some foot work and his fast hands yet he still allowed himself to be dragged into a phonebooth. He showed grit and guts but with his talents he needed to show us something else. So my question is after a few years as "green" what now for Andre Berto? The obvious is a rematch with "The Ghost" but what else? Losses to Ortiz and Robert and a close win over Collazzo what now?

Anyone can be a punching bag my friend, he took an awesome punch but so does a brick wall. My point was he did nothing outstanding, he is not overly fast, overly powerful or a supreme boxer. Berto lost the fight Guerrero did not win the fight.
I never said Guerrero cheated or cried cause Berto got "roughed up" no, no sir. I am crying cause Berto allowed himself to get roughed up.
How did Berto lose it when he's never shown the ability to win a fight like that? Guerrero hurt him early so he lost his legs and could only fight in a phone booth. Something he's really average at.
He was able to turn guys like Urango who is slow plodding. Ghost is skilled enough to make up for disadvantages in speed. He won close and lost close to guys like Ortiz and Collazo because he could simply out slug them with faster punches. In this case he was asked to fight a different fight and he failed miserably.

Berto has never shown any development as a boxer and he has a weak chin. I don't think he'll ever develop those skills. While everyone marveled at the brutality of that fight I was frustrated by how limited Berto was. He pretty much kept making the same mistakes over and over again. This made Guerrero look far better than he actually is.
Guerrero fought the hardest he could while Berto had an off night. My case is proven the fighter who had the off night lost the fight.
What case bro?
The non-career WW bullied the career WW from pillar to post. Shut both his eyes and got 2 KD's. That's not an off night, that's getting your ass whooped.
Berto lost the fight Guerrero did not win the fight.
There are some times this excuse is valid. This isn't one of them.

Berto might've had the tools to do whatever but guess what? Guerrero took them away. It boggles my mind when people say Guerrero didn't impress. Not even his ability to take a punch impressed you?

Typical. Funny how you're one of the cheater avengers and complaining about a so called cheater being roughed up in a so called "dirty" fight.

There's still fights out there for him... the rematch against Ortiz... fights against other entertaining fighters like Rios, Maidana... and if Khan moves up, that might be interesting... And there's still Cotto in the future... and the Gingexican can still use Berto as a stepping stone

Wtf......? Just answer the question or move on.

First of all work on those weak ass legs and chin second learn to have a plan B when the fighter doesn't immediately have a heart attack when you punch him once.

Wouldn't mind him going toes with Josesito @ 147.
Both Haymon guys. Both put on good shows. Its winnable for either guy.
Both coming off losses and looking to rebound. Wouldn't be a completely meaningless fight. Decent profile fight.
Berto can't fight going backwards and RG just kind of kept at it and saw it was working. No one on this forum. Not one person predicted that RG would fight like that. Caught Berto off guard as well.
Whats next? Zaveck again? Brook? Alexander? Paulie? There are plenty of fights for him still at 147. But I think he will move up to 154 like he originally planned to.
I wouldn't mind seeing Berto vs Alexander hmm......
