Everything about this fight was great.
24/7 Mayweather-Hatton was the best of this series. It was vintage floyd, trash talking, giving the finger to fans, and the loveable Hatton giving the trash talk back.
The promotion and anticipation for this fight was unreal.
The weigh - in was action backed. Hatton fans with their chants and everything.
I just watched some youtube videos of the atmosphere for the fight, it looked truly amazing. One of a lifetime. I wish I had went.
The crowd was all Hatton but as far as the hype for the fight it was the clash of styles and personalities
The ****y,flashy guy against the humble jack the lad
The technical defensive master vs the aggressive tenacious mauler
USA vs UK
2 undefeated fighters
It had everything plus it was a good fight with a knockout ending
Great overall experience and both fighters deserve credit
Yes... Floyd was still JUST the bad guy... Didn't give a crap about making himself seem like a great guy (that didn't happen until he started getting compared to Pacquiao)
Hatton was probably the only good guy that could give as good as he got verbally to Floyd...
Floyd was on top of the world after beating Oscar, Hatton has the most hype fans in the world
Is that when 24/7 jumped the shark?
No! the bout was a total mismatch but it was a nice holiday for the Brits who jumped over to have some fun in Vegas. Until the fight came then reality set in. A decent club fighter isn't going to do well against a world class boxer!
Then they tried it again!!!
Now again?? Same results. Ray.
Decent club fighter. Are you having a laugh.
How many club fighters become ring champions he was THE MAN at 10st when he faught Floyd.

This . .
Hatton was definitely the A-side. All the celebrities were wanting to meet him and ****. .
That's one of hte onyl fights where I love watching the atmosphere 5-10 minutes before the fight. . All the English fans chanting. .
ALthough it was disrespectful for them to boo our anthem. . . But whatever, made the atmosphere even more tense.
Great event. . . Haven't had one like that since IMO. . .
What celebrities? Ya Denzel Washington, Wesley Snipes, and Judge Mathis were all there to meet Hatton LMAO. To bad they all cheered for Floyd. Its amazing I saw none of those celebs in the crowd last week.
Didnt it only do 800k buys here ?
Anyone wonder how much it did in the UK.. anyone know ?
But ill admit Hatton brings great fanfare. Its incredible . Khan was on his way there but he got exposed too many times to keep them .
Think it did just under 1 million in the U.S. Don't quote me though.

It certainly was in the UK. Probably the most hyped fight I've witnessed in the UK and that includes McGuigan's fights, Eubank-Benn, Lewis-Tyson etc.
Hatton and has fanbase definitely had a large part to do with it but of course it wasn't 100% them. Mayweather being the annoying, ****y Villian ignited the flame to a whole other level.
The fan friendly, respectful, brawling hero Vs. the flashy, arrogant, skillful boxer who's P4P #1.
Match made in heaven there, from a promotional standpoint.
There's a reason the Hatton fanbase came out in full force like never before and never again for this fight.
From what I understand, they had their own business.
That's not exactly the same as "working class" - in the sense that you lay carpet for the boss, and get an hourly wage. . .
Same with Froch. His family had their own pub.
Small business owners/middle-class British folk.
Back in the day definitely, reckon its a bit more blurred now though.
Both those businesses are small time, low profit (esp running a pub, with alcohol taxes and breweries running you into the ground). Their culture and lifestyle would have been working class, even if they dont fit under the strict definition of it.
didnt his dad lay carpets? id say thats skilled working class...
He was born in a council estate in Manchester. His dad laid carpets. Definitely a working class guy.
ive been to hundreds of fights i mean all the big ones in the last 5 yrs
and NOTHING compares to a hatton fight im fortunate to have been able to experience somthing tht may not happen ever again
it was just amazing there really is only one
Yes, it might have been the best build up. Hatton had a massive working class fanbase (even though he was born middle class) so every plumber, joiner and painter was turning up in Vegas.

that was all hatton right there, big ups to the british people, lol, the british made this atmosphere and they made this event bigger than it shoulda been, mayweather was a b-side of this great event
