As per Dan Rafael/ESPN
1. F Mayweather
2. A Ward
3. S Martinez
4. M Pacquiao
5. JM Marquez
6. Vlad Kiltschko
7. N Donaire
8. T Bradley
9. Vitali Klitschko
10. M Cotto
11. C Froch
12. A Mares
13. R Guerrero
14. M Kessler
15. Y Gamboa
16. C Dawson
17. B Hopkins
18. D Garcia
19. A Broner
20. B Viloria
Brian Viloria only at 20? Would have him over most of them between 10-20 tbh
Not sure how the hell Broner is ahead of him myself when he has only one notable win.
ward at number 1 is a joke to me..he does'nt even have a better resume (overall or lately than nonito)..check for yourselves...but he defitenilty is in the top 5...
jmm not in my top 5 , not even sure if he should be in the top 10...
viloria definitely should be in the top 10....
what a bunch of bullshit. how can anyone put mayweather on top. the dude has not fought for ages and his recent wins have been controversial, the cotto fight should have been scored much closer (cotto might have won it) and the one before that was the sucker punch from the ortiz bout, i never knew why the WBC never ordered a rematch or why mayweather was never strip of the title for not defending it in a record breaking 18 months
I think they should have waited until the results of the Pacquiao- Marquez fight before dropping Pacquiao to 4. Mayweather does not fight much to be #1. He has wins over Cotto and Ortiz in the last 19 months. That's ok but nothing special. I think Ward's long string of good wins a few times each year earn him a spot over Mayweather and Donaire is doing great and should be near the top in my opinion. Overall it's a good list.
And the K bros
Donaire
Cotto
and JMM beat none of them either so whats your point?
The point is simple, I'm contesting the top 4 of the list...
You are correct about the guys you mentioned, that's why they are where they are in the list and most others.
Rafael is an idiot. He scored Pac Bradley 119 109 lol, then he drops Pac to 4. According to his rankings, nobody has had a better win all year, and doesn't get more dominant than that score.
Like I said, its the new in thing to drop Pacquiao down... Mayweather hasn't fought since May, and yet he somehow gets to stay on it... At least Ring was both fair and realistic... Nobody in Pac's weight class can beat him, and nobody in any other weight class has accomplished more
That's why he was there in the first place
Couldn't have said it any better.
It's a poor list by any mans standards, Dawson got brutally beaten and lost to Pascal not that long ago. Guerrero is debuting at 13 despite not having accomplished half as much as other guys who had to do much more to get on the list.
The top 5 isn't bad though, most of them are interchangeable.
1. Floyd/Pacquiao (his 'loss' to Bradley honestly doesn't count)
3. Ward
4. Martinez
5. Donaire/Marquez

exactly....
No one takes fat dan serious.
This is a guy who never boxed a day in his life and spends more time in buffets than at the gym gtfoh with that list
you took him serious when pac was number one lmao
So Pac beat 3 of those guys in the list, Floyd beat 2, Ward beat 3 and Sergio none...

to have brian viloria down that low..below guys like danny garcia, broner, guerrero, etc. is criminal imo...also how come floyd is still #1? he should be put down a bit lower on the list just based on being inactive..and his win against cotto wasn't very spectacular. to be honest rafael has a pretty ****ty list...but it's his opinion so whatever.
My top 5
1. Ward
2. Pac
3. Floyd
4. Donaire
5. Martinez
I know a lot of boxing publication will ignore official results when generating their P4P list, hence JMM is high in the list.
true. but thats the same for Manny, not penalizing him for the judges decision, but going with his opinion on who won.
