sure seems like it to me, lol, hes also haitian but he has been in a fight of the year and this year he was also in a fight of the year candidate, can anyone think of a more exciting CURRENT american , lol, i sure cant, lol, the last time ive seen a boxer this exciting that was this exciting to watch, lol, last one was "Irish" Mickey Ward
This, can't believe people still stick up for drug cheats. Glad he got beaten to a pulp. It sure is funny seeing him get beat up though.
is andre berto the most hated man in boxing not named broner or floyd, lol, everybody seems to like seeing him get beat up!!!!!!!!!!!!!:blackeye:
No it has nothing to do with that. When fans don't like a certain fighter they just can't be objective, that's all. All they do it try to minimize him as a boxer. There are a lot of Berto haters out there so of course they will refuse to give him any credit.
I'm sure that was just a silly joke. He was thinking about what Berto looked like after the fight. Berto been called "blackanese" since he loss that fight.

OMG that sig!! mmm mmmm
I laughed when Berto got dropped, because of his self hating supporters claiming only "Mexican fans think Guerrero has a chance".
So I guess, he is one of the most entertaining American fighters but only because it's funny watching him get exposed after every fight.
The third option. I love watching that useless sack of **** get his ass kicked like the hypejob he is.

Can't believe people are still making excuses. Guerrero was the superior fighter and beat Berto down. That's all there is to it. Berto will be happy being a gatekeeper from now on.
Oh so now losses do matter? I thought fans talking down to a fighter because of his losses was killing the sport. So Berto loses to two guys he should have beaten and he becomes a gatekeeper, but Khan loses 3 fights he should have won but he still has hope. Pacquiao gets knocked out by two smaller fighters he was favored to beat, but he didn't become a gatekeeper.
Basically Haymon fighters are held to higher standards.
No....not even close. Berto had no answer to Guerrero's come forward style in that fight and chose to clinch nearly every time.
Berto's corner even yelled at Berto to stop clinching so often.
Regardless Berto is a semi exciting fighter till he gasses and then stinks up the rest of the fight.
Berto's conditioning was excellent. He got hurt early and got his eyes closed early. He was full of energy throughout the fight.
One of the many stupid things he did was fought like Floyd/Broner. When he stopped that after 2 rounds, he fought a lot better and actually turned the momentum towards him.

Berto's corner DURING the fight: "STOP HOLDING!"
Berto held him when Guerrero leaned on him. A tactic that enabled him to get hit in the back of the head and get the ref involved when in trouble.
When a fighter leans like Guerrero, it is fair game to hit him in the back of the head. But the ref probably had a bet on a Guerrero upset. Who knows?
Guerrero was the obvious clincher in this fight. I don't know what you're talking about.

He doesn't, he wants to make it a clinch fests but these guys you mentioned have none of it. Berto's defense sucks and for some reason loves to sit on the ropes and take a beating. That's what makes it exciting.
Berto in control of his fights is abysmally boring. Look at the Urango and Forbes fights. Just ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Collazo/Hatton, Collazo/Mosley. I know those ring a bell. Berto is a desparation fighter. Yes it makes for excitement but to say he's the most exciting in the game is a stretch. I just rather see Rios or even Garcia for my buck. Nothing against Berto.
Actually, I picked no, that he is not the most exciting American fighter. My argument is that he doesn't get any credit for giving a pack of fighters their most exciting fight of their career.
When people look back and ask right now, what was Ortiz's most exciting fight, it will definitely be debated between Berto and Maidana. When people look back and ask what was Guerrero's most exciting fight, it's obviously Berto. You must have forgotten that Berto-Collazo ended up being one of the top 5 most exciting fights of an action packed 2009. That is saying a lot since the fight happened in January and had about 11 months to get trumped. Of course it was inevitable with that much time ahead, Marquez-Diaz, Martinez-Williams, Pascal-Diaconu, Dunne-Cordoba, etc...this is as far as back and forth action fights go, not slaughters like Mosley-Margarito.
Andre Wards beatdown of Chad Dawson was pretty damn exciting, though I don't think he'll pull of more performances like that.
I'd have to give it to the other American boxers, Rios or Broner.
What I find funny is that coincidentally Collazo, Ortiz, and Guerrero's most exciting fights were against Andre Berto. But instead of people admitting this, they are bashing Berto.
What Berto is, is the type of fighter that upsets upsets. When you think a quick upset is about to happen, he shows heart while being hurt and comes back to make the fight a FOTY type of fight. People don't seem to like this for some reason. I guess if he was Mexican, he would be labeled a warrior for doing this.
I have to disagree. Collazo vs Hatton was a better fight IMO.
Ortiz fights against Maidana and Mayweather were exciting while they lasted, but they weren't as good as the Berto fight.
Collazo? I know him as a skilled fighter, not a very exciting one.
Berto however, has a bunch of exciting fights under his belt. Collazo, Ortiz, Guerrero, Zaveck.
By the same token I cant remember either of those three being in any bad fights either. So they're pretty exciting without Berto too.
Guerrero vs Katsidis/Escobedo and Casamayor were all one sided and dull. I took the Aydin fight off after 3 rounds.
