At the 0:43 second mark, watch closely. At first I thought it was his mouth piece, but then Berto started to chew on it and swallowed it. What do you think it was? Aren't fighters not allowed to take supplements aside from water right before a fight? This may sound like reaching but in all honesty I don't want my opponent to be seen having something put in his mouth and for him to chew it and swallow it. Whatever it may be.
It is NOT his mouthpiece and that has been confirmed in this thread.

See for yourself.
So many conspiracy theorists on here. What's so mysterious about it? Could have been any number of things. Ice chips, a sugar cube.....maybe they knew The Ghost was gonna be in his face all night and deployed a tic tac for his breath.
Somebody should tweet him and get to the bottom of this "mystery." While you're at it, maybe you could also look into some of the less important mysteries like the Bermuda Triangle, why the Pyramids were built, why shoe repair shops also cut keys, and after reading a few Instaflex reviews, whether that stuff actually works.
It looks like Berto was given something to chew and swallow at the 0:43 mark, and since it's confirmed not to be his mouthpiece, that raises legitimate concerns. Fighters are only allowed water between rounds, no supplements or substances, so if he did ingest something, it could be a violation. You're not overreacting; it's fair to want clarification and ensure the rules were followed.

Cant argue with why peple are suspicious there's good reason and imo the question needs to be asked and answered!
Probably innocent but It looks very dodgy.

Could've been Berto's power pellets

Even if he does. We talking about Berto. Al Haymon don't even believe in this fool. What's the point in wasting energy trying to defend him?
The guy is hot garbage. It's like discussing the Washington Wizards.
HEY HEY no need to get nasty!!!!! That is my team you are trying group with Berto my Wizards aren't that bad no need to degrade us by lumping us with Berto!! LLS but that is my b-ball team we stink:soapbox:
Strange indeed, it could be ice but I'm not ruling out any other possibilities especially for a known cheat. In the Mares video (good eye catching that btw) you can clearly tell it's ice as you can see his trainer holding a bag full of ice and stick his hand in there and gives it to Mares.
I been fighting since age 12 and a lot of coaches give there fighters ice to chew during warm ups and sometimes when in ring. Numb mouth a little, and helps warm up the jaw and get it moving.
This right here. A lot of guys chew ice right before a fight.
