De La Hoya - Pac jumped 2 weight classes for this fight. First time fighting at welter, coming off a lightweight fight. ODLH was the A side, he called the shots, so this was all on him. No issues with this one.
Cotto - Fighting for Cotto's welterweight title. Since Cotto weighed in the previous fight at 146, only 1 lb less at a 145 lb catchweight was supposedly fair. But if it's only 1 lb, why not just fight at the welterweight limit?
Margarito - Tony was a career welterweight. Plus, Pac didn't even come close to making the super welter limit. No issue with this one.
Marquez 3 - The catchweight was basically their real weights without having to cut weight and rehydrate. Pac is not a full fledged welter, more like a filled out junior welter who doesn't feel like cutting weight. He's the A side, so he can call the shots on the weight. No issue with this one.
So the only one I have issue with is the Cotto fight. Cotto had a history of trouble making weight for 147 as it is, plus Cotto was the champion. The others are no big deal for the reasons stated above.
So how do you feel about LMW champ Cotto asking to defend vs Marg at 150, with a 160 rehydration limit? That was just last year. You think he likes being drained, or what?
You shoulda told the bookies that Pac DLH was a mismatch. Better yet, shoulda told DLH and Schaefer, they could have skipped the humiliating quit job vs cherrypicked midget. Unless you think Oscar wanted to retire like that, he is a sick puppy after all.
Its about what Manny has done , and it just always seems to be in Mannys favor the way the CWs work out , when its put to Manny from JMM to go 144 Manny says NO ,,, he is fake kid and all your muddying the water wont change that .
Nobody has manipulated weight like Manny , you know the Manny Im talking about , the your to small JMM you got to be 147 , your to big Cotto you got to be 145 , and Mosley your shot so now it dont matter , Margo drained to 150 after 2 yrs off and a 154 bout where he looked like crap , a 26 ft ring and 8z gloves just so now the weak sloth will have no hope of catching me , lol who are you trying to kid with your fanboy BS , at least Margo got his license out of it because boxing said no, but Bob fixed that for him , Margo is on paid service with Clottey .
THIS MANNY !!!!!!!
Well, admittedly, they all received as much **** for it as Pac did. None of these guys was given a pass for it, and they still don't.
Some have but not all to the same extent. Especially when you consider that Manny had to usually come up many more lbs while the opponent had to drop down just a few lbs?
Funny how Manny comes up and asks the opponent to come down a couple of lbs and people make a big deal. Marquez did the same. Please point me to the link that criticizes Marquez for asking the WW champ to come down and weigh in at 143lbs (Manny)? Just to remind you, Manny, the WW champ, was criticized for that even though he at least came down and kept his word, unlike when Floyd asked Marquez to come up for his first attempt at these higher weights.
You can criticize but at the end of the day, I'm just reminding people that many others have done it too.
It's a Pac thread, so yeah Pac is open to criticism. Leave the butthurt at the door kiddo
- or make threads on those catchweight fights and I'd be happy to discuss those with you as well.
I guess I must have hit a nerve called THE TRUTH! lol!
You say what you want buddy and criticize who you want .... So what I bring up others .... Just pointing out the facts ..... that many have done it before him and many will continue to do it after him.
By the way, you should look in the mirror before you talk ..... looking at your other posts, you don't seem to mind talking about other fighters ....
These should be considered when blabbering about a catch weight or fighters moving up or down.
1. A career light heavyweight moving down to fight a career super middleweight at 168
- Advantage goes to the career 168
2. A career SuperWelterweight fighting a career Middleweight
- Advantage goes to the career Middleweight
3. A career Welterweight meeting a career lightweight at 140
- Fair fight
Logic simply applies.
Oscar-Pac is the most unfair
Before the FACT - Oscar had not fought at 147 in so many years BUT.. Paquiao had 1 fight at 135 and ZERO fight at 140!!! and yet the fight is at 147??!!! WTF?? :hitit: Its a suicide mission for Pac. he'll get annihilated by the 1st punch. a single left hook will knock him out.
Looking back - Pac is a monster with enough pop to retire dela Hoya who had big trouble being competive at 147. he had nothing in that fight that would trouble the likes of pac.
----
Pac Margarito
Is it fair to give Margarito the extra 3 lbs to be able to trouble Pacquiao? the 3lbs would yield an alphabet belt so Pacquiao gladly approve the additional 3 lbs to Margarito.
Marg had 17lbs againts Pac resulting in Pac being admitted to the Hospital pissing blood. Pac was limping for days.
Is it fair? I thinks so. Marg would be an easier target at 147.
---
Pac - Cotto
Cotto has a signifcant number of followers so there will be 2 versions of this
- Cotto was 146 againts Clottey and 145 against Pacquiao so it made minimal significance as we saw Cotto did very well before he was dropped.
other version : 1lb made the difference.
Cotto was a problem because he was already having trouble making 147, that why he fights at 154!!! He also turned down a fight with him at 150. I don't blame him. If u want to fight the best in the WW or SWW then u need to fight at the weight required. Don't ask them to come down and drain themselves to make it a fight where they are not in prime weight.
DLH was also a mismatch. He had not fought at 147 in how many years? 5-6 I think. He was not in his prime either.
Pacman has not fought anybody in there prime at there prime weights. DLH would have blown through Pacman in his prime at 147 or 154.
Pacman has not beat JM either. Draws at best but that it. Pacman is a little bit over rated and still think Floyd would destroy him. To much timing and boxing ability for Pac.
Just look back to the 1st Eric Morales fight. Pac stood no chance against a true boxer in there prime at proper weight. Yes he beat Eric 2x after that but he drained to make weight as well and was getting out of boxing as well.
Once again, prime weight and prime age Pac has not beat the best. JMO

almost every fighter has done a catchweight at one point or another..and other fighters have done it multiple times..now STFU...
some catchweights do make sense. pacquiao uses them strictly as an advantage.
he says he's "too small" when the occasion suits him. forcing the champ to defend his title at 145 while marquez, and bradley have to fight him at 147. he's bitchmade with weight stipulations.

It doesnt matter whos fault the CWS were , who asked or demanded them is irrelevant to the performance of the opponents , the result in the ring of those CWS was very detrimental for Pacs opponents , the CWS hurt them badly that is a fact !!!
Oscar needed IV fluids to gain 2 lbs , thats dead man walking , he was 150 and Steve Forbes nearly beat him, if it was the same night at Pacs weight Forbes would have stopped Oscar .
Margo needed diuretics to make 150 , that tells you the trouble he had making weight , add to the CW a special 26 ft ring and 8oz gloves and the stacked deck against Margo is very apparent .
Cotto said he will never sacrifice his body like that again for another boxer , and Manny REFUSES to fight Cotto without a CW that drains him , its blatantly obvious what is going on , Pac WILL not fight a healthy Cotto and that is the duck of the decade !
Take the CW wins out of Mannys WW resume and what have you got , not much !
Every single WW opponent has trail of innuendo surrounding them , there is always some BS deal going on with a Pac fight .
Clottey - in house paid to lose he even said so in his own words .
Hatton - looked like crap with Lascano , fed feather fist Pauli , given a new trainer and a coke habit .
ODH , the worst case of a weight drained fighter in years a absolute weakling compared to the 154 version that steps in the ring 15 pounds more than he did with Manny .
Cotto , Pac refuses to fight him him healthy and the duck is blatant , its the same man at what ever weight , yet Pac obviously knows thats not true and will not fight him without a CW .
Mosley , Pac ducked him while he was winning even while Shane was begging for a fight at a ridicules weight , Roach said your too good of a fighter , turn the clock forward Mosley gets beat by Floyd and looks crap with Mora now Manny will fight him , weight dont matter , just coincidental right :)
Margo - diuretics , 26ft ring , 8oz gloves , looked like crap in previous fight .
Bradley , 140 WC brought up and beats him , refused a rematch .
JMM brought up in weight with Roach going on record saying they forced him up thinking he would be slower and forced to slug it out , it backfired Freddie , you should know going up in weight doesnt hurt you like being forced below your healthy limit does .
Mannys WW resume is full of manipulation and marketing , call it fair if you like but it wasnt fair fights they were set up so that the handicap was always against the opponent .

DLH was not a cathweight and its the weight that Oscar called out pac at so dont get it confused!
all others were unfair and just plain wrong
I dont care what any ******* has to say they have no logic when arguing
and flo mos are just as bad so fawk them both
In this thread the guy claimed that:
1. Cotto was drained vs Pac
2. Mosley would have been better off at 140 than Cotto at 145 in 2009
Now he claims that Marquez wasn't bloated vs Floyd. He's just here to waste your time. Just ask him to make a poll, that'll shut him up.
I can see he is a troll who dont mind floyd getting JMM to step up 2 divisions and coming over the limit yet crucifies Pac for a 2lb CW.
So i think i will ignore the troll for now, he has set up camp on this thread obviously, he likes threads where they hate against Pac.
What fight with Pac did he step up three overnight? No it has been noted JMM looks rather solid and PED like against Pac rather than soft and bloated looking against Floyd.
Pac and JMM are the same size, its just Pac can take a harder punch than JMM and can beat bigger guys something JMM hasnt really proved. JMM wouldnt have to bloat himself to be as big as Pac anyway, no matter how you look at it.

As much? Maybe on some other board you're a member of, here any Pac CW get 100 times more sh1t than all those put together.
Take Cotto Marg 2 for example. This is worse than any Pac CW easily. You seem like a historian, give me a precedent for the champ asking to defend his title at a CW. A "real" champ (this guy was rated #1 at his weight lol), not Danny Green with his IBO belt. So why are there 1000s of Pac Cotto posts for every post about this abomination? Or Martinez PWill 2, it's far worse on principle.
In the second fight both he and Pac weighed in as 130/129 lb fighters and by fight night they weighed in as welterweights.
That's 3 weightclasses
So JMM was bloated too right?
Well if they weighed on the scales 130 that isnt bloated is it. If they hydrate to 147 whats that got to do with it?
So was Marquez bloated against Pac since he moved up THREE DIVISIONS over night?
Stop avoiding the question.

Margarito= thats the max pacs can fight him 150.. anyway margs last fight is 147. Marg can make 147 that time.
nope margarito's last fight before pacquiao was at 154. if he could make 147, he would've stayed at 147.
he told cotto to **** off when cotto also wanted a 150 catchweight. margarito said he can't make 150.
Margarito and Cotto are pretty much equal... Margarito might be a tad worse since we had no proof he could even make 147 anymore, ergo the "career welterweight" thing isn't even valid... People fill out in weight as they get older...
If ur gonna fight for a belt, fight at the limit...
If ur gonna break records, do it like a real man... I could break the largest compubox margin in boxing history record if I made my opponent contractually unable to use defense or throw punches... Would that make me special?
Marquez wasn't bloated against Floyd. .
It was noted that JMM looked rather soft against Floyd and small, even after bloating himself up.
So Floyd likes not little 2lb advantages like Pac does, but likes 2 divisions on his opponents. He may try better himself next time and bloat Donaire up. Hes trying to set a world record for how many divisions a fighter will step up to fight him as they are desperate for a shot to beat Floyd and are willing to go kamikaze style to do it.
