We all know Manny lost interest in following Ariza's strength and conditioning program, at least fully and properly, a few fights ago; he's admitted it himself, and before his last fight - or was it before JM3? - he talked about needing to go back to the plyometrics and intense strength work with Ariza that he attributed much of his success to in recent years. I just checked out Ariza's twitter and saw this:
HorheDyordz: Brother, is Manny Pacquiao submitting to your strength & conditioning regimen? (Ariza's reply) Not so much...
So if Manny isn't really following Ariza's regimen.... why the hell is he even employing him? Can we really expect a better Manny if he isn't following his strength and conditioning guy's program? I know Ariza has his detractors, but he's excellent at what he does and I think for Manny to have any chance of putting this one beyond doubt, he needs to train harder than he ever has.
Manny isn't in any decline.
Its just that in the past 2 years he's fought guys that he didn't weight drain and weren't coming off huge losses for the first time since 2008.
How is that a decline in any way?
Is it because his opponents aren't as stationary as people have become accustomed to? JMM and Bradley are top fighters who still had the goods and confidence going into the fight with Manny.
It wasn't any decline in Pacquiao as much as having healthy, strong and game fighters in front of him makes Manny look less than stellar.
His workrate and foot-speed have declined massively. The dynamism is gone. His deterioration is due in any case. His phenomenal athleticism was a large part of what made him great and that has to go eventually. He's done well to stay at the top for this long.

Cotto wasn't healthy, strong and game when Manny fought him? Oh, wait, you're right, those extra 2 lbs he had to take off made him a walking tomato can and we should give Manny no credit for pummelling him. Nor should we give Manny credit for dominating Mosley and dropping him too (something both Floyd and Alvarez didn't come close to). Or completely spanking much bigger foes like Clottey (who punished Zab and Corrales, lest we forget) or Margarito. It's pretty clear you ain't gonna give Pac credit no matter what he does.
Its scary how much emphasis is put on a strength coach, the guy behaves like he is a boxing trainer
Virgil Hunter said he just finds it a baffling concept of so much focus being put on strength coaches. Ariza seems like a ****in douche, a very dodgy douche, hope he aint blackmailing Pac, i'm sure if he goes down he will take Pac with him
Not to claim Ariza necessarily falls into this category, but Pac seems like an extremely loyal guy who can't refuse anyone who attaches themself to his entourage. Like Ali, he allows himself to be leeched on and assumes responsibility for supporting a great number of random, useless people.
Which is why he'll probably still be trying to make fights in 5 years time.

Pacquiao may not be following Ariza's routine to the letter but he is doing some of it so he must feel it's worth something. As far as expecting a better Pacquiao, I think his sparring, road work, mitt work, bag punching, and shadow boxing are more important than Ariza's routine. Old time greats like Joe Louis, Ali, Robinson and Duran did ok without a strength coach.
Pacman keeps these guys around because they stroke his ego, he is just like Floyd in a sense that they love to have a lot of people around who kiss their butts they love hanger ons. Ego maniacs are like this they can't be alone.
well why does pac still keep michael koncz who is hated by everyone in pac's camp?
the 64 million question.... and why the hell he borrowed money from visionqwest to buy him a house? does he blackmail pacquiao?
