A-list opponents for Calzaghe:
43yr old hopkins(post prime, also most think he only lost the split decision due to racist comments)
Kessler(prime)
semi-retired Eubanks(almost shot)
Roy Jones(shot to sh1ts)
A-list opponents for Froch:
Dirrell(prime)
Abraham(prime)
Pascal(prime/slightly pre-prime)
Kessler(prime)
Ward(prime)
Bute(prime)
Taylor(post prime)
Froch beat them all except Ward, and even against Ward he had him going in the last 2rounds he finished strong, if it were 15rounder Froch mightve stopped him. Besides Ward wouldve completely raped Calzaghe anyway. Calzaghe retired completely unproven, he cannot be considered an atg because who has he beaten? Hopkins was split decision super close fight that many thought he lost the majority of the first 8rounds, who else has Calzaghe fought that was atleast a one point in their career considered a-class/elite??
You said Froch beat all those guys except Ward. He lost to Kessler and I agree with that decision. Calzaghe beat Kessler by a good amount. Their resumes are close but I'll go with Calzaghe. Froch has a much more fan friendly style but Calzaghe was effective with more speed and a better defense than Froch in my opinion. Froch fought better guys overall but he lost twice.
Doesnt matter about the Dirrell arguement, that'll look good on Carls record in a few years not now, his best win is Bute based on the fact he was ranked top10 p4p, had something like 15title defenses etc. Bute a close second who went on to become the lightheavyweight champ. However his he did beat other noteworthy people like former middleweight champs Abraham/Taylor, former supermiddleweight champ who won 5rounds vs calzaghe in Kessler(a guy he couldve stopped in the 5th and will rape in the rematch at his best), and many others like former lightheavyweight king Glen Johnson.
Frochs resume is already made, based on the accopmlishment of his average opponents, even if he retired today, his resume is a different class and league to calzaghe. To think that theres still so much left in his career!
Not now? What are we discussing, 10 years from now? The f*ckouttahere.
And on what planet was Bute a top 10 pfp'er?

YET!!!!
That is the point of that comment
Yeah that's why it makes no sense. He could also go on to do absolutely squat. So...as it stands...he's accomplished nothing.
Talent = potential unfulfilled.
WHAT HAS DIRRELL ACCOMPLISHED?
You insult Froch by saying that his best win is over someone who has accomplished squat.
YET!!!!

Calzaghe fans will argue no matter what... The only thing they have in the argument is "Calzaghe would probably win if they fought"
Outside of that, they have nothing
Dirrell based on talent, he'll prove himself in the future. However Bute on credentials, Bute like Calzaghe had something like 15title defenses against a bunch of bums going into the Froch fight and was ranked p4p etc. Bute on what he did before the fight, Pascal on what he accomplished after the fight, but Dirrell imo based on abillity. Dirrell wouldve beaten Calzaghe and might even beat Ward, thats how crazy talented this kid is, he'll prove himself in the future

His best win is Dirrell?? Tell me...what has Dirrell done in his career?

His best win was Dirrell whos gonna show hes up there with the elite of elites in the future. Froch beat Kessler in my opinion even with all the crazy crap that happened to him during the week of the fight he still beat him and couldve stopped him in the 5th.
Taylor+Johnson+Ward+Dirrell+Kessler+Pascal+Bute+Abraham is already no doubt head and shoulders above Calzaghes resume, Frochs got 175 run where he can beat Dawson imo if hes as good as he is at 168, hes also got a list of rematches that include Kessler, Ward, Dirrell, Bute before he leaves the division. Theres no doubt Frochs resume is in a completely different class to Calzaghe.
You can't have a resume completely and solely built off of beating via Split decision a 43year old hopkins(which many think he lost) and fighting 20+tomato cans.
His best win is Dirrell?? Tell me...what has Dirrell done in his career?
Not if - fact. Best win = Pascal. Lost one-sided to Ward.
Turned to the fight as well.
its not a fact what are you on about, his best win was Dirrel or Bute, certainly not Pascal
if you say so...........
anyway i must run to broner vs darmarco.

True - because you beat three legends out of five. Not quite what happened here. Here...his best win is over Jean Pascal. And he lost every round to the best opponent he fought (Ward) and looked completely out of his league.

dude.
if i fight ali, fraizer, foreman, lewis, tyson, holmes. & i beat 3 of the 5. the other 2 are still worth mentioning because it shows i fought everyone (the best of my era)
if i beat 1 of those guys & have a undefeated record (with no one worth mentioning) it's a weaker resume.

Only if he beat them. When looking for work, do you list all the wonderful jobs you applied for but didn't get on your resume? I didn't think so.

i don't think so............obviously the better the opponents the higher risk for a loss.
froch consistently fights top ter guys. i think that adds to the resume............
