His my boxing coach and his a great guy and an amazing teacher/sparring partner as well as a big fan of Hector Camacho and Tommy hearns himself.
That being said, He doesnt really go in to detail about his own career. I am kind of curios to know how he was perceived during his active days and how do view tony pep in general?
Also sparring with him, I can say that, dude has an amazing footwork, great lead hand and a very accurate right!
This forum is quickly turning to **** with all the Mayweather/Pacquiao spam and trolling.
But I remember his name popping up a lot during the 90's. I'm not going to lie and say I followed his each and every move but I remember him being a tough contender and he's been in the ring with world class opposition.
Thank You!
Its not like boxing revolves around them,Jeez man, dont pac/may nuthuggers have there own thread anyway?
Anyway back to tony pep, his one of the most detail oriented coach I have ever worked with. Great pad work as well and in sparring, even at his age his very mobile and he always says no matter how good you are, you always should take your technique to the next level.
That and he is pretty fit and trains hard for the love of training.
You should consider yourself lucky as hell to be working with him. I always thought he was a bit underrated myself, but he was truly a first class warrior.
He was a tough solid fighter, certainly at least two notches below world class although he saw some guys like that on their way up. Against lesser guys he held his own but he it is not like he was a sure thing, there were some hard luck loses mixed in also.
So you created an account just to troll every thread with your Pacquiao propaganda? Seriously, Manny has nothing to do with this topic.
Thank You!

Whoever he is I know with certainty that he would lose to Pacquiao.

Its not Mannys fault that gayweather is scared to face him.
Boxing does not revolve around Pacquiao. This thread was not about Pacquiao so respect the thread and stay on topic.

you lose. you had nothing before, you had nothing during, and you still have nothing to offer. why am I arguing with an alt anyway?
point is, manny fights floyd leftovers and beats them after their mentally beaten, at a catchweight on top of all that. i know you love hangin on to manny's "giant pinas" and all, but he doesnt give a shit about you, just like no one gives a shit about him anymore. deal with it :Flush:

I was living in Canada then and remember him well. He was enormously tall and held the Canadian feather title. He had a pretty decent career and early in his career looked as if he was oignt to be good. HeI think he laterw on the lightweight title.. fought a few very good fighters, to all of whom he lost, although he held up OK. Had most of his fights in Canada. I remember thinking he might have been related to Willie Pep, but wasn't.
I saw him in Denmark against Racheed Lawal (RIP) back in the day. Pep was a surprise and gave the homeboy all he could handle. I think Pep lost a close decision.
Lawal spoke fondly and in admiration about Pep long after the fight. Mentioning him as one of the best if not the best fighter he ever met.
