Go through with the fight? Knowing that it would be an advantage to your opponent which could lead to a loss on your record? This could affect your career and future earnings.
For me it's the principle of coming in on weight. It's your job to come in on weight.
I wouldn't go through with the fight and Let Broner and his handlers deal with the consequences of his actions.
Personally i work a job where i have to come in on time and put in work just like every person on this site. What makes it any different for Broner? We all know if someone doesn't do their job they get fired. DO YOUR JOB BRONER!
Yeah allot of people are pretty straight up when it comes to the reality of what the fight means to HBO and Demarco`s career. It just would be a real disrespect to the sport if Broner comes in over the limit. I equate it to cheating and regardless if it`s a blow out or not when he fought Escobedo, i still put an asterisk * on that fight. Cutting to your proper weight is part of the match. with guys that have to cut muscle mass it`s allot harder for them if they are over the limit and it only makes it fair because the other cut down as far as he could to make the limit also. the last 2 lbs does make a difference especially when it comes to stamina. I just think it would be a real bi.t.c.h move by Broner. I have him in my sig but he`s gotta show respect for the game IMO. Allot of people who are ATG and HOF have done it before him, why the f.u.c.k is he so special? I could care less what he says and how he act before during or after the fight but when he steps on that scale and he's in the ring, be a professional and handle your business. Just my thoughts. Allot truth on this thread though, the cold truth.
Hope it's a good/fair one.

All he has to do is make a 10 million dollar a lb for over stipulation or demand:doh:
I don't think it will happen but if it does then...yeah you still fight especially if they are going to double your pay and you get to keep your title win, lose or draw
I think some people kinda don't want to see this fight go on because deep down they have no confidence in DeMarco beating Broner and they don't want Broner fans to talk trash if he wins
Demarco is the champ and he has every right not to go through with the fight if Broner does not make weight. He probably won't do that because he wants to get paid after a hard training camp. If HBO does not like it I am sure Showtime will welcome him. Corrales refused to fight Castillo when he failed to make weight for their 3rd fight and nothing bad happened to Corrales because of refusing to fight. As others have said Broner will make weight for sure.Broner did not care last fight because he knew he was leaving 130 anyway. He wants to be the lightweight champ and he was 139 a few days ago.
DeMarco doesnt have a choice. Hes not the draw. His best option would be to take the money and dont mess with HBOs future baby. Or who knows next time DeMarcos people try to get a fight on HBO they forget his name.
Lol @ acting like Antonio Demarco is Andre Dirrel.
I would make him get the weight off. If he got to within a few ounces of 135 I would settle for lots of extra cash. If he was a pound over then pay me double or no fight like his promoter said. If he could not get down to 136 then no fight. I believe Broner will make weight this time. He got down to 133.5 last fight so 135 should be easy for him to make.
The reality is he'd have about as much choice as Marquez had when Floyd didn't bother making weight. In theory he could say no, but HBO and everyone else with a stake in the fight would lean on him to go through with it, and refusing to fight might be worse for his career than the loss he might take. It's lousy but there you go. Makes you realise how low it is for someone to take advantage of the situation in that way.
Someone reported a weigh in at 139lbs so he's easily at 135 by Sat! If he's slightly over and can't sweatbox a pound or two off I take the extra money and fight on. If theres 2 pounds difference it means NOTHING other than $$$$$$$$$'s Ring the Bell!! Ray
take double the purse, but he was 139 7 days out, hes making the weight
Agreed. I am sure that everyone involved with his career got on him about missing weight in his last fight. Would be very surprised if he didnt make 135.
The promoters should have a replacement opponent on deck ready to step in for Broner if he doesn't make weight.
I don't think this is the case but it's not unheard of, for promoters to do this..
I would probably want the money not to mention the bump in pay he would get, because DeMarco if the fight goes through or not still has expenses of running a camp. It sucks but this is why guys almost never tell a guy to get bent over that even if it is egregious. Plus it gives a built in excuse if the fight goes awry, and people will be real sympathetic thus making the road to another shot a bit less difficult.
Then there is always the chance of victory~
Wow f.u.c.k that that is the god honest truth then eh... keep stacking the cards in his favor cause he's on someones d.i.c.k and can't do it legit.... please....
It is what it is. People arent going to AC to see DeMarco. You think if he left HBO swinging in the wind that hed get another fight? Im not saying its right but its life. Besides none of this will matter because Broners gonna make 135 no problem.

I agree. It's tough for me to say cause I've never seen more than $10,000 in person but if they offered me double my salary I would want it. On the other hand. I wouldn't take it simply because of what you said, it'll be like them stacking the cards in their favor. In the end the only thing people would remember would be that he beat me and not that he came in overweight or that I got double the purse.

no fight no pay
yeah it sucks though. Is a fair fight out of the question with this guy? coming in on weight is part of the strategy is it water weight or is it muscle mass? Broner is pretty big so i figure it would hurt him if he doesn't do it properly but is that Demarco's fault?
