CARL FROCH has never refused a challenge – but Britain’s top boxer has revealed his biggest fear is doing another skydive.
Froch, who is in his third reign as the world super-middleweight champion, still has nightmares after doing a 15,000ft skydive three years ago while on holiday in Cuba.
The Nottingham fighter, 35, insists he will never try the stunt again and found it scarier than walking to the ring for any of his fights, including epic battles with Andre Ward, Mikkel Kessler, Jermain Taylor, Arthur Abraham and Jean Pascal.

I would ordinarily agree but listen to Froch speak in his interviews. Unlike most other fighters he talks about his belt like it means something, he talks about wanting to break into the top 10 pound for pound rankings, his dream of fighting at the City Ground and being remembered as a legend.
IMO this is a fighter more concerned with recognition and respect than money.
A lot of fighters say that but at the end of the day they fight for checks first, legacy second. Nothing wrong with that, it's their job after all.
"Probably bullsh1tting" :lol1:
Give it up. You're done. Warren shows the written offers in an interview. If Froch was "chasing the dough", he'd be fighting Cleverly right now. That's the cold hard truth.
Stop pathetically and shamelessly trying to criticise one of the only fighters in the sport that actually fights for legacy before money.
So Frank Warren, one of the biggest crooks in the sport, shows a piece of paper in an interview and it's enough for you to believe him? :lol1: Unless Froch himself or his promoter confirms that offer I'm not gonna believe this scumbag. He's the british Don King, screwed so many fighters that one of them tried to kill him. :lol1:
His nickname isn't "The Son of God."
It's "Son of God," as in everyone is a son of God.
Thanks Bo. So sick of people doing what that poster did. If they would pay attention, they would know what his nickname is.
I was about to say.
Froch is probably one of, if not the only fighter in the sport who cares about legacy before money.
If he's "chasing the money", why would he not go straight after Ward? Who's apparently a cash cow now :lol1:
Instead he's wanting to fight Kessler first and has already said he'll concede the lions share of the money just to make the fight. Even go to Denmark again!
That Carl "Money" Froch eh....:nonono:
"Probably bullsh1tting" :lol1:

They were probably bullshittin, no way Froch makes that much against Cleverly. He's not even a huge star over there, he ain't on Haye or Khan level.
Froch is chasing that dough just like everybody else in the game. That's the cold hard truth.

Lets put aside if Froch deserves a rematch for now, if he beats Bute again and then Kessler I think we can all safely say he will be a legit challenger to Ward, but more importantly then if Froch deserves to fight Ward now, should be if he does get himself into that position, shouldn't Ward buck the trend of a lot of American boxers and prove he can fight away from home, in a hostile environment?
Imagine what it would do for Wards legacy if he found his passport and left the USA and stopped Froch in Nottingham. Now Ward fighting Froch in Nottingham makes a lot of sense for everyone other then Ward's most die hard fans. Beating Froch at home after another good run would be far more impressive then the other beating he put on Froch IMO
I'd defiantly pay to watch froch fight ward here in uk live but I doubt ward would do it Kessler should come here too the first Kessler ward fight was close as hell imo

"We made a written offer to Matchroom (Froch's promoters) of a million pounds to Carl Froch for him to fight Nathan for Nathan's title. We could have done it at a catchweight," commented Warren.
"They declined. We got an email back saying he was going to continue fighting at super-middleweight, so that was that."

Most of the money in a fight comes from the networks and HBO pays big money for his fights. He made 1 and 1/2 mil in his first HBO fight and if he keeps winning his paydays will keep increasing. Which super middleweight makes more money than him?
But clearly his opponents don't do as well. Isn't 600k for lineal champ Dawson a lot less than you'd expect?
I believe it was over a million pounds plus potential PPV revenue. I doubt Dawson got that to face Ward.
All fighters want big money but certain fighters chase money solely. Froch is clearly not one of these fighters. You trying to sound clever is not a good look for you.

You seem to be mistaken Ward simply does not generate huge money he is not some kind of cash cow he has a relatively small fan base and his style is not considered aesthetically pleasing.
Dan Rafael reported that both Froch and Dawson only made 600K fighting Ward. Ward earned 900K vs Froch and around 1.3mil vs Dawson. Both Froch and Ward also got money from UK TV on top of that.
Hardly ground breaking figures in this day and age.

Why would anyone want to see this rematch? That was a completely one-sided uncompetitive clinic? In fact, now that Ward is settling down on his punches more and taking things to the next level, I think he will stop Froch if they fight again actually. As always respect to Froch for fighting anyone anywhere but I am sorry, Froch does not have the skill or ability to handle Ward, unless like in any situation, he lands a lucky punch.
But is it larger than what he would make against Ward today? I don't think so

All fighters do it. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you that santa doesn't exist.

A fight with Cleverly could potentially be on PPV here and the purse he was offered was larger than what he got fighting Ward.

To suggest that Froch is some fighter who is simply chasing money makes you ridiculous. He is probably the last fighter in boxing you could level that accusation at.

I want to see it. You are happy with Ward "the son of god" fighting the likes of Pavlik? :firedevil
His nickname isn't "The Son of God."

Of course he wouldn't. Ward is now one of HBO's main stars, fighting on this network is much more lucrative than fighting on Sky sports. The gate money would be pretty big but most of the money comes from the networks.

somebody ought to show froch the first fight and remind him that he thought about retiring after it...
why rematch a fight like that?
I think he owes it to himself to try again.
andre ward is going to move up to 175 in 2013 if new fighters at SMW don't make themselves cant miss opponents.
I don't really believe that. Commentators and interviewers are always putting it to Ward about moving up but he never responds enthusiastically and wouldn't even consider a catchweight against Dawson.
Ward will probably move up one day, but I don't think it will be any time soon.
