When the Klitschko's retire, will there be one new fighter who's got what it takes to dominate and become future undisputed champ?
My personal candidate: Kubrat Pulev!
There won't be any king, just several lords controlling parts of the kingdom. If Haye stuck around he could whoop everybody but he'll probably retire after the Vitali fight.
David Price for me, but I have to admit my knowledge of the eastern European up and comers is very limited. I'll try and catch a few of Pulev's fights, considering everyone seems to rate him quite highly.
17 wins, 9 by knockout. I'm not saying he's featherfisted but he doesn't have that great punching power like Wlad... or Price.
6'4 is honestly to small for a future HW king IMO. Wlad is 6'6... Price is 6'8. This is the time of super heavys.
Cruiserweight David Haye became 'world champion' when he beat Valuev a couple years ago... No Valuev is not Wlad or Price, but goes to show, smaller HWs can (still) compete.
Pulevs Ko record doesnt look great but he's shown he can break a big mans heart which will be useful in the heavyweight division.
I'd have him above Price at the moment because he has had better wins. Price' bets win so far was against Audley and thats not gonna set teh world on fire. I doubt a win over an ancient Skelton does much for his rep either.
Surprised nobody on this thread has picked Fury. Maybe like me everyone realises he has no hope once he steps up in class.
Yeah but conversely dimitrenko was almost stopped by chambers who is definitely a non puncher and Ustinov is awful and basically quit.
That said I think Pulev has something on his shots but he's not comparible to wlad or price, or even someone like Arreola
Price knocks people out, that's a fact. He still needs a real test though, I'm not so convinced yet. I like Arreola by the way, he's a real fighter, and if he stays dedicated with his conditioning and so on, he can go far.
Cheers Wvladimir. I think I remember it know. He had a bloody nose and never really got into the fight did he.
Pulev did a similar job to Dimitrenko. It looked like an even fight going in but I think Dimitrenko gave up mentally and the finish was similar in that one too.
Did he stop him in the end? I remember watching that fight but cant remember how it ended. He was just boxing rings round Ustinov who was too slow and wide open.
Ustinov took a knee in the 11th and didn't get up on the count. Looked like he decided he'd taken enough punishment from Pulev.
And I'd say stopping a 300+ pound giant in Ustinov indicates he has some punching power

David Price
Kubrat pulev is too small and doesnt punch hard enough, i dont see how he is ever gonna dominate at HW.
Wouldn't call Pulev small, he's a 6'4, 250 pound guy! And I'd say stopping a 300+ pound giant in Ustinov indicates he has some punching power. He also TKO'd Dimitrenko, who had never been stopped previously.
I think Haye has a good chance of beating Vitali (if Vitali stopped avoiding him) but he probably wouldn't do too well in the Wlad rematch unless he managed to catch him with 2 or 3 bombs. Even if he beat both Klitschkos he'd probably retire straight afterwards so he wouldn't be really be a reigning king.
There are some good heavyweights coming up, Price, Chisora, Mitchell, Joshua, Pulev, Wilder and many more. The heavyweight division seems to be regenerating nicely so there's a lot to look forward to in the future.
I hope Vitali will fight Haye, but it's highly doubtful. I would like to see Wlad rematch Haye, but that's also doubtful. And yes, Haye says he retires if beating a Klitschko, so I have him excluded as a candidate, actually.
There's certainly fights to look forward to in general, many good contenders.
Yep, Price needs a real test.
i would love to see price chisora although chisora isnt a big puncher he is relentless in coming forward big fight for britian too.

i think price will but im not cemented on him yet,i want a tough fight for him,i wanna see him get hit flush on the chin, just to see how he takes it thats the only thing we are yet to see from price.

Yeah Pulev looked a good heavyweight last time I saw him. I think he could beat Povetkin now for the WBA title.
Lets see if Helenuis can get back up there cuz he used to look good when he opened up. I have no faith in Seth Mitchel ever doing anything.
It would be interesting if Wach pulled off the upset this weekend. With Vitalis decline that would really make the division wide open.
