It's only who would have a chance of doing so. It's comparison of punching power versus Vitali's chin.
Of course it is very unlikly that tyson would koed vitali due to massive size difference but the thing is the others wouldn't even have a chance even if they do land clear because they don't have that puching power...

I agree that both Lewis and Sanders did rock Vitali - but still they were not able to knock him down. that uppercut from Lews was indeed huge, and I don't think many fighters (past and present) would have been able to tolerate it like vitali did.
I can't think of many boxers with comparable chin - maybe prime Ali..
? Vitali was stunned in their final round from a huge uppercut, Lewis had Vitali holding on almost the whole round after that.
I think he did definitely lose quite a bit of punching power, not only was his age a factor but him being out of shape, Lewis was exhausted in there along with Vitali. Idk about you but you've ever been exhausted and tried to throw a punch it won't nearly have as much power as it did when you first started throwing.
Sanders also had Vitali rocked badly, the fight started off competitively and then Sanders tired out badly, mainly because he was already a retired golfer, I think he was around 40 as well. Both prime Sanders and Lewis definitely had the ability to KO Vitali.
Very unlikely.. Sanders landed the most perfect punch he could possibly land and still Vitali was fully recovered in matter of seconds. He ran back and was pretty much in balance. We saw what happened when that punch landed on Wlad. Lennox would be dropped as well - similar what happened when Rahman KOed him. Sanders was a huge puncher and it was in the first round, so it was pretty much with the full power.
In Lennox fight Vitali was clearly tired after 5 rounds as he was the one who pushed the action. Also he struggled to see due to very bad cut. He took the best Lennox's uppercut and he wasn't stunned - if he was Lennox would finished him easily and Lennox never was even close to doing so.
They both were holding in 6th round. No way Lennox could ever KOed Vitali with the single punch - Lennox was a great boxer and a big puncher but to KO Vitali it takes something extraordinary - maybe Foreman or Tyson..

Prime Foreman, prime Tyson, prime Wlad might be close to that if they land clear.
Lennox - no way with the single punch! Vitali took MANY of Lennox's best punches and wasn't even much stunned. (that wasn't prime Lennox but I don't think he lost anything on his punching power at the time).

Vitali's chin is relatively untested
and old Corrie Sanders dropped him
no he did not - vitali has in fact never been dropped by a punch. if you are referring to the end of rd 1 (where corrie pushed/pulled him down when he was a bit off balance), that was quite obviously not a knockdown (and was - correctly - also not scored as a knockdown).
corrie did land heavily on vitali in the first few rounds though, which shows that vitali has a very good chin.
vitali has never been truly defeated in the ring. his loss from lewis was a premature stoppage by the ring side doctor due to cuts which he should have won basing it on the scorecards. same thing when he fought byrd, vitali injured his shoulder and the doctor had to stop it even though vitali won the on all scorecards. so no one from the hw division today can knock out vitali. maybe a prime tyson would have...
I don't even know who this guy is. But one thing I do know is if he detonates this off Vitalis chin, Vitali's going to sleep.
Classic James Thunder, could never beat the upper echelon fighters, but he disposed of bums like a true HW champ should.
Prime Foreman, prime Tyson, prime Wlad might be close to that if they land clear.
Lennox - no way with the single punch! Vitali took MANY of Lennox's best punches and wasn't even much stunned. (that wasn't prime Lennox but I don't think he lost anything on his punching power at the time).
anyone can get ktfo if they're hit with the right punch at the right moment period
Exactly.
No flush is needed. A clean power punch connecting to the chin can KO anybody. Especially if one walks into the punch, or didn't see it coming.
As for Vitali's chin , it's a very good chin. It's been tested a few times for Vitali (luckily for us funs) opens up way more than his brother does now (Wlad was not so cautious when he was younger, and got KD a few times).
That said Vitali remains a "behind the jab" kind of fighter, not a face first brawler /inside fighter (the kind of fighters that are usually most exposed to punishment).
