it's been no secret that both men plan to knock each other out in their upcoming fight and i think it's a great selling point to attract paying customers who've seen pretty much the same thing over and over again.
however, marquez plans to go all out and looks to knock out pacquiao which realistically speaking is almost an impossible task considering pacquiao's iron chin. pacquiao early in his boxing career did suffer two ko losses to lesser fighters via crushing body shots which marquez is not known for. since then, pacquiao has proven himself against notorious body punchers like hatton and margarito which he's defeated in convincing fashion.
bottom line is pacquiao looks good against fighters that come forward, and marquez being aggressive might just lead to his early demise. if he does stick to his usual counter punching and able finish the whole 12 rounds, pacquiao's offensive minded style might just be the winning point for the judges to him him the nod once again.
in any case, the odds in pacquiao's favor are well justified and marquez has a hell of fight in front of him when he faces the mexicutioner.

IMO Marquez won the fight on effective punching but he did not run away with the thing either.
The Bradley fight was a striaght up robbery
word. i do hope pacquiao-marquez 4 lives up to the hype.
there is good reason to justify marquez won the 3rd fight. the first time i watched it, i had marquez winning by a round or so i think. but after i watched it numerous times, i saw marquez's counter punching was only effective to temporarily put pacquiao at bay and try to survive while pacquiao's offense never stopped and his high workrate was what carried the action in the entire fight and the main reason pacquiao got the decision.

Marquez already did defeat Pac in their last fight!

Marquez has already given his final great performance. I'll be shocked if he can muster that again.
Manny has an APril fight lined up so the chances of JMM winning are not that good.

maybe, but most boxing experts say marquez is the best at light welterweight and the only true champion at lightweight today, not to mention the top 5 in the overall p4p rankings
its gonna go the same way the first 3 fights went.
Marquez keeps it close and exciting gets dropped by pacquiao then backs off or marquez gets out thrown and out landed and his face becomes far worse for the wear than pac loses another close then complains of a robbery.
Or in my very first post.
:lol1: :lol1:
I agree with you.
But on the flipside, maybe the fact he didn't get the decision he deserved it might put that same fire in him this time?
Who knows, we'll find out December 8th.
No, my point is that his slowing down, coupled with the fact that he put a lot into prepping for the third fight - which was to be his crowning moment - leads me to believe that he cannot summon yet another great performance, hence my saying that was his last great performance as a great fighter.
Yes, you did write that eventually.
Most definitely. Unless you buy that he's just switched to a "more crowd pleasing style". Sort of like everyone's saying about Floyd now.
My point was that your post just claim that JMM is slowing down so much so you don't think he has a chance this time vs Manny. Manny is slowing down and deteriorating pretty noticeably as well so I don't see why JMM would all the sudden have no chance.

I'm not quite sure where I said Manny hasn't slowed down but I guess you were trying to make a point?
Anyway, I thought Marquez was declining before the third Pacquiao bout. Against Casamayor and Diaz...and then the Katsidis bout was a shocker to me. He ate so many punches. But he really put it together for that third Pacquiao bout. I'll be shocked if he can muster that again.

well, manny and jmm have been exactly as busy as each other for the last 3 years, both faded late in big fights. they have about the same number of pro fights so they've been through similar numbers of camps...
basically, neither are in their prime. jmm is older, but lets stop acting like jmm is sooo far on the decline and manny hasn't shown any signs of slowing down

Officially or unofficially?...GTFO with asking that stupid question.
His chances are good. Better than most fighters out there.
Both need to make a statement in this fight. JMM wants a win. Manny wants a KO. This is gonna be a pretty good fight. A fight that i wish never would have been made again!
Not about punishment from that fight but the accumulation of age, many other fights and the countless training camps. Prime Marquez doesn't get dropped by a Michael Katsidis. And even in that third fight he was fading in the championship rounds.

JMM has Pac's number. I remember for the third fight how people were disrespecting Marquez in that he was going to get KOed cause he was already too old and that he was going up in weight.
They forget how JMM has handled Pac in the past. This fight won't be any different from the ones before in that both guys are even with their individual talents coming into the fight.
It is going to be another close affair
Prime JMM was a featherweight and Katsidis is a big puncher. I don't think he has declined any more than Pac has declined and his style doesn't require a lot of athleticism.
His style involved a lot more footwork than it does today. And the idea that he hasn't declined more than Pacquiao well...I don't know. Katsidis being a big puncher is one thing. Katsidis regularly bouncing power shots off Marquez's dome is another.
Marquez is 40 and barely fights anymore. Furthermore, he looked like a declining fighter before he fought Manny--hell that's why he got the fight. But he turned back the clock like Morales did when he fought Pacquiao the first time. Asking him to do it again maybe a bit too much.
