Hell no he would not beat Prime Roy.
He could very possibly beat Hopkins. Similar fighting style, both excellent technicians but Dre is more athletic and quicker. But I would still favor a prime Hopkins by a small margin.
He would lose to Toney as well.
I was referring to styles.
If you notice, I said stylistically Ward does everything better than Taylor.
That's not the same as saying Ward beats Jones because Ward beats Hopkins who beat Jones in their 2nd bout, retard. That's a triangle theory.
Or here, how about this one.
Mayorga can beat Mosley because Mayorga beat Forrest who in turn beat Mosley.
There's another triangle theory for you since you don't know the difference. If that was my reasoning or logic, then you would have a point.
What I did, was I took styles of fighters being compared and have fought similar opponents in the past. I've taken known characteristics of fighters and used that to evaluate a "potential" fantasy matchup. It's called Critical Thinking.
Not Boxing Math. Learn to know the difference first before speaking.
Or maybe you should learn how to word your responses better.
Why not?
Jermaine Taylor beat Hopkins in his. Ward's jab, hook and defense are much better than Taylor's. Stylistically, Ward does everything better than what Jermaine did as an undefeated fighter.
The only one he absolutely doesn't beat is Jones. But let's not act like Hopkins or Toney weren't already beat in their primes.

Weren't you trying to sh*t on triangle theories before? And now reading your response... Can't possibly take it seriously.
I don't think he beats RJJr or Toney. He would probably beat Hopkins but who would wanna watch this:

No way he beats Jones prime at 168. Jones was in his own league. Those blistering, lightning fast combinations with raw power were out of this world. He was like a machine from the future. Sad he is still fighting. People need to remember the marvel he once was, not what he was 10 years ago, 5 years ago, and now. Over 10 years ago he was special. One of those fighters that comes along 2-3 times in a 25 year period, if that.
As a big fan of Hopkins and the "old school" way of fighting, I have to agree more or less with what Kev said, let's not sit here and pretend like they were gods who couldn't be beaten.
I will agree though, Roy was AMAZING at his peak. BUT, Toney and Hopkins are very winnable fights for Ward. I personally think Ward has a stronger chance of beating Toney rather then Hopkins TBH, and here's why: Ward's foot speed advantage would give Toney fits, just like Roy's gave him fits. Ward is a master at controlling distance, and has very good footwork, and turns his opponents very nicely. I think Ward would literally box circles around Toney, but Toney would make it rough obviously. I have to say though as a Toney fan, he gets just a BIT overrated by some people. You'd swear he went his whole career undefeated and was a godly specimen, when in reality Toney was a great naturally born fighter, but also had some lackluster performances in his career, and struggled at times with guys that he should of handled easily, and didn't handle good boxers very well at all. Ward UD12 116-112.
Hopkins would be tougher for Ward because Hops would be harder to tie down given the fact he can match Ward in foot speed and ring I.Q. I would LOVE to see these two go at it on the inside though, jockeying for position, trying to match each other with their skill and strength on the inside. I literally could see this fight turning out to be a draw, or a very close win for either guy. I do think Ward's speed would give Bernard fits, though.
A prime Roy? Who could beat a prime Roy? Nuff said. Although, Ward would make it rough on Jones, and given Ward's quick feet, mastery of distance, and ability to smother on the inside, Roy would have big issues with that. Roy would win a decision most likely.
