quick recap
cano was an unknown lightweight who fought morales at 140 and got battered and stopped, he gets 2 easy wins, paulie fights him at 147 and gets a gift. this is where you laugh.
I laugh when I hear him introduce as welterweight champion. This guido is such a joke

you thought it was better than quillin vs n'dam?
did you watch the Quillin fight ?
The Quillin fight was fun, but Malignaggi-Cano was dramatic as hell. Every rounds was close as ****. I enjoyed Ndam-Quillin and Ndam showed a lot of heart, but it's not like Quillin was in danger of losing the fight.
Wish I had a nickel for all the times I've seen fanboys and nationalists use compubox as a reason their favorite fighter may have won a match. My position will never change, it should be refined or they should get rid of it.
Is this him talking about how he got his @ss whooped by hand picked opponent who was supposed to make him look good. If not I'm not interested. U know the welterweight division is sh1t when u have someone like paulie as a champion

few things:
close rounds from round 3 and on.
paulie was winning the 10-8 round.
too much credit from compubox and the commentators for the body shots. a lot of low blows and wrist slaps to the body from cano. paulie rolled with a lot of these punches, he looked remarkably untouched until the last 2 rounds.
I lost count.
There were a lot of close rounds, it was a hard fight to score. I wasn't surprised with any of the scorecards, even the wide Cano one.
I think the kid should have called Paulie out for the rematch. If Paulie does get the Hatton shot (he'll lose), I'd like to see Malignaggi-Cano II after. It was a fun fight, the best of the evening.

Paulie easily won 8 rounds imo. People like to think that plodding forward and landing 3-4 punches wins rounds.
But running backwards and landing 1-2 jabs wins rounds?
i was certainly not keeping a card at that stage ( ) but i felt paulie's boxing was effective for good portions of that fight. cano did well for himself. i'm about to watch it on my DVR now (home safe and sound after a gorgeous 4 hour train ride along the coast.)
you live in what is probably the world's greatest city, man. i was blown away last night. i hadn't been there in almost 15 years, and clearly the magnitude of that place was lost on 10 year old new england. i cannot wait to go back.
cab drivers have balls of f#cking steel.
:lol1: really? Where did you end up going/seeing in NYC? That part of Brooklyn is not the best area tho. I guess im used to it and the city pisses me off now. You should catch the Cotto fight in MSG
I didnt hear him say he was outboxed and beat up by a 140 journeyman

He edged the fight just barely on my card, but I wouldn't have a problem with a draw or a slight Cano edge either. It was close. The KD helped Cano a lot. I think Paulie put some rounds in the bank by just boxing and moving, but admittedly he didn't do much other than the jab. He definitely didn't look as sharp as he did when he fought Senchenko.
indeed, the difference was night and day. i think he was too focused on making the cut worse instead of using his overall boxing skills. he didn't utilize his footwork, or set up traps, or varied his punches like he did against senchenko.
seemed like he didn't want to be there either. probably cause he was no longer defending his title, the fight was worthless with an opponent who was worthless and overweight, who knows but something looked off. the cut looked really bad and that was his way to stop the fight early i suppose but, it didn't happen and he overlooked cano's game effort while doing it.
