I got Rios in this one, but it would be a helluva fight. Danny is no joke and all I ever here is how he's so limited and will get done in sonner rather than later. I disagree he's got heart and good power so he'll always have a shot in any fight, but again Rios will apply that constant pressure and eventually wear down Garcia. He has the chin to withstand anything Garcia throws.
Don't forget, Rios is a 19 year vet at 36 years old with tons of wars under his belt.
:dunce:
I don't know about this one..on paper it shows Rios' pressure being too much for Garcia...
But the key here is Rios is still fresh to the 140lb division..and Alvarado was knockin this dude all over the ring and Garcia's left hook is much more lethal than anything Alvarado throws..Garcia can definitely shut Rios' lights out with a crisp hook like last nights..
I rather see Garcia-Matthysse
On the outside he doesnt get tagged much and only with jabs on the inside he get tagged a lil more but that just cause he opens up like hell on the inside and garcia has a non existent inside game.
Alvarado tagged him repeatedly from the outside and inside. Abril tagged him repeatedly from the outside. Acosta tagged him repeatedly from the outside, he just has a good chin. I do see rios smothering garcia though but alvarado was able to jab rios to distance when he wanted I see garcia trying the same tactics with less firefight
garcia's left hook is explosive no doubt...i'm not sure if it is enough to knock out rios in just one shot though, but i do expect it to put rios on queer street. I'd slightly favor danny to beat rios if ever they do fight..
How anyone can be a fan of Garcia is beyond me. The guy beat a faded fighter twice and glass chin Khan. Wait until he gets in their with Mathysse or Rios. He's due for a rude awakening.
Garcia is much quicker than Rios as well, and even though Danny isn't really a boxer, he has the ability to stay on the outside from time to time and out box Rios.
Garcia is a very underrated fighter, and has very underrated body work.
LMfao okay and How will garcia land this Left Hook that he needs distance to land with land?
:thinking::dunno:
Anyway, Garcias resolve would be tested in this fight.
Garcia can't box Maidana, Matthyse, Rios IMO and get a UD. He just seems like he lacks something. He can't KO them IMO.
Khan IMO would win a rematch if he didn't commit too much. Danny is a counter puncher by heart, you MUST limit how often you throw a punch.
like what I've said in the other thread, Garcia is a better boxer than Rios, but Rios's style is also hard to handle if your not that much of a mover. Rios would easily get in against Garcia and throw his fire power too. This is a great match up coming from both hungry fighters but I have more faith in Rios's chin, pressure and combinations.
He'll need to add the uppercut to his repertoire to deal with Rios on the inside. Since Rios likes to wear ear muffs, Garcia's looping shots would probably be negated of some of their steam. He'd have to rely more on shots that go up the center.
Garcia/Rios is a very intriguing match-up. Fuck TR and GBP for taking that option off the table.
If the fight was available to both I wouldn't pick this fight for Garcia just because of the uppercut issue... I seriously could see Rios taking Garcia all the way and drowning him in deep water.

Agree man, especially with the bold.
Rios fights toe to toe and is wide open for punches all night. I wouldnt be surprised if Garcia knocks him out. Hell i would favor Garcia by knockout. Only way to beat Garcia is to fight smart and outbox him, things that Rios doesnt do.
That's way off base when Garcia hasn't even shown that he can fight on the inside.
The only issue I have here is Rios gets really close to you, Garcia still need a bit of space to fully extend his left hook with proper power, against Rios he would land it but not with his full hand stretched out because Rios would be right on his chest.

Like both fighters but the biggest issue I see here is Garcia's non existent jab. I don't see Rios struggling to get in, I see Rios smothering him.
Agreed. Garcia would need to establish a jab and box a bit more than he's used to. I know he'd want to slug with them, but that wouldn't be the intelligent way to go about it. We also don't know how his endurance/stamina would hold up. Can he go 12 hard rounds with the likes of Rios/Matthysse, guys who are known for soaking up punishment? Would Garcia punch himself out, given that Rios is always there to be hit?
