The number are in and Donaire Nishioka did only 835,000 viewers on HBO. Over the last two years, the average has been around 1.3 Million per fight.
In fact, Chavez-Martinez's replay on 9/22 did more than this fight at 852,000...

Source? I call bullshyt on this.
Ward-Froch topped out at 580,000 viewers, and the Super Six was highly publicized.

No way in hell an unknown scrub from cuba fighting a weak, unknown champion like ramos does near the ratings of ward-froch, especially when rigondeax-ramos only sold a pathetic 325 tickets :lol1:

Damn didn't know the S6 final did so little. So Ward draws fewer viewers than Donaire against foreign fighters lol DempseyRollin where you at?
That's weird, you would think that Rios/Alvarado would've motivated more people to watch. Second lowest ratings figure while fighting the supposed #1 in the division. Is it possible to find out what the rating was for Rios/Alvarado?
It was 816,000.
Ringodeaux did 500k viewers when he fought Rico Ramos on shobox in a Friday night fight..

It was also a major gain for Ward from his previous fight, in which he decisioned Carl Froch on Dec. 17 in Atlantic City to win the Super Six World Boxing Classic title. According to Nielsen figures, the Ward-Froch fight on Showtime peaked at 580,000 viewers.

Guillermo Rigondeaux has generated a good bit of buzz since his easy win last Friday over Rico Ramos at the Palms in Las Vegas, but nobody was interested enough beforehand to actually attend the fight.
Figures for the show were bleak, as the fight sold a meager 375 tickets, with a gate of $14,525 total. Thank heavens for site fees and TV packaging this time.

lol, did Golovkin and Proksa do better?
Dang, he did closer to them than a million... and they're Europeans fighting here for the first time.
.....you're kidding right??
A couple of people were interested in Donaire's previous ratings on HBO. Here they are:
February 19, 2011: “HBO Boxing After Dark” (Nonito Donaire vs. Fernando Montiel) averaged 1.02 million viewers (P2+) watching Live + Same Day.
October 22, 2011: “HBO Boxing After Dark” (Nonito Donaire vs. Omar Narvaez) averaged 819,000 viewers (P2+) watching Live + Same Day
February 4, 2012: “HBO Boxing After Dark” (Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Marco Antonio Rubio) averaged 1.9 million people (P2+ meaning “people age two or over”) watching Live+ Same Day (meaning “people who watched the channel live or recorded it on DVR and watched it before 3 a.m. in the morning”).*
July 7, 2012: “HBO Boxing After Dark” (Nonito Donaire vs. Jeffrey Mathebula) averaged 988,000 people (P2+) watching Live+ Same Day.

He's fought on undercard of PPV's, Rigo hasn't even headlined a Friday Night Fight event.
Common sense tells me Lara has a following, common sense also tells me Gamboa has a following, how do I know what Rigo's following looks like, word of mouth, LOL.
I totally forgot Rigondeaux is a house hold name, what was I thinking:dunce:
You obviously can't comprehend what you read... :twak:
Isn't that about average for a BAD? I know WCB cards average around 1 million+ viewers, but BAD cards don't get nearly as much promotion and usually get lower ratings.

this right here......

That fight sold 300 tickets, I believe. Somewhere around there.
Already backpedaling from the "boring" comment lol.
Donaire drew 1 million viewers against Montiel and there was no big fight on the undercard. He can sell.
i never had to backpedal, if read what i said clearly u would know what i meant. smh, thats what happens when u jump the gun to defend someone. re read my first comment
IM not a fan of either but at least Nonito is headlining a BAD card
when has Rigo headlined a BAD card and what are his numbers...
its ok ill wait
True dat chucky
thatd all be relevant if that was the only thing i was basing my comments off of, but it clearly isnt...smh.
his size is def a contributing factor. but its not the most important one. we arent talking ppv here. we are talking regular hbo. not to mention he had two exciting mexican fighters opening the show for him and he could only pull 800k? but sure donaire is not the blame. he complains that he cant fight so and so because it cant sell but he apparently cant sell by his damn self either. hes confusing. and so are his fans. he shouldnt be blamed for anything apparently. its all something elses fault.

His personality is not more boring than Pac's or Cotto's and inside the ring he's not more boring than Ward so that boring talk is just hate.
It's funny you never mentioned his size or how famous his opponent was.

donaire doesn't deserve a rigo fight till he becomes more known.
So the less known fighter with only 10 fights needs the more known fighter with more fights and exposure to become more known until he gets a shot?
BWAHHHHAHHAHAHHA
