Martinez. Both fighters have a lot to gain from that fight. Besides Alvarez getting to prove himself, Martinez would have a chance to prove he is the same guy at 154.
Cotto is the more natural fight. He's worldclass but a level below Floyd and Martinez, perfect opponent for Canelo at this point. Let's see him swim with a shark before throwing him in with the killer whales.
Cotto.
Mayweather and Martinez are too good for Canelo at this point and could ruin his career.
Cotto is probably too good too but he is the weakest of the three and it would be an entertaining, potentially winnable fight.
PR v Mexico too.
Big three? What big three?
There's pac and pbf, and then cotto Is levels down below with a bunch of other guys
Big three in the sense that those are the three biggest names he can possibly face, without obstacles. Obviously, he is not facing Pacquiao, because of obvious obstacles.
Cotto... Stylistically the more entertaining fight... Also, Martinez and Floyd r on a different level than Cotto, so Cotto would be a better "gate-keeper" sorta speak to see if Canelo really does have what it takes...
Essentially I'd prefer to see it in the order from most winnable to least winnable
Cotto
Floyd
Martinez
I was actually just being sarcastic. We all know Manny won't fight at 154 but he sure will claim to be a champion in the 154 weight class.
When talking about Canelo's "big 3" options it's obvious that Pac isn't one of them. I don't know why Earl Hickey even brought that up.
Why does he get credit for winning a title in an 8th weight class then? :dunno:
Because the ABC belts have no credibility. Arum wants a belt so they make the 150 pound fight for a vacant belt. But you already knew that, you just want to argue.

Pac dont fight at 154 homie. Canelo is "too big"
If Cotto fight's Canelo..that's 3 very good undefeated boxers in a row, all within a year..that's beast!
AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHY COTTO IS MY FAVORITE ACTIVE FIGHTER ALONG WITH JMM & a few others & will always be one my all time favorites!
If Cotto fight's Canelo..that's 3 very good undefeated boxers in a row, all within a year..that's beast!
only bad thing is..if he loses to Canelo he'll be 1-2..lol eliminating the good looks of that on the resume..
Out of the name's you mentioned I would like to see him in with cotto. it would be a good test, and if he beats cotto he could than move on to face the top fighters (floyd & sergio)
Stylistically...I gotta go with Cotto..He's the one that'll be there to hit and be hit and it could turn in to a gun fight..it's all a matter of if Canelo's power overwhelms Cotto and breaks him down or if Cotto's experience and accuracy can pull him out of it with the younger stronger possibly bigger Canelo..
This is the fight I want to see..
