after a recent stellar performance, brandon rios is on cloud nine and overflowing with confidence. who wouldn't be after winning by knock out and nominated as possible winner for fight of the year. rios even went as far as calling out pacquiao which i think was a bit foolish.
if ever the two go head to head, the pressure fighting style of rios would be perfect for pacquiao to set up a knock out win. no way rios will last the whole 12 rounds even though he has shown to have a granite chin. i foresee a ko in pacquiao's favor within the later rounds.
your thoughts?

I'm a firm believer that Pac has declined quite a bit, but Rios is a couple of classes below Manny and would get stopped within 6 rounds, probably by the ref.
Pac will hit him all night long, and has the chin to absorb a couple of shots that probably will land by Rios.
there was a saying by larry merchant that stuck to me, even a rock breaks if you hit often enough, and rios is a prime example of that in this case
If people really want to understand how good Rios is, just make a fake article where the #1 WW/JMW Floyd Mayweather states that he wants Rios at WW...
We all know everyone would sh*t on Rios (let alone anyone else) and express that he's not a WW, and that he's not good enough, is too small, too this and too that for the best in the sport, Floyd Mayweather...
So since Floyd wants the "JWW" Rios at WW (which results to Rios being a sh*t fighter due to the standards of Floyd being held very high), why would anyone want to see Pac fight him at WW?
Don't answer, this is just Bob Arum expressing that he won't deal with anyone that is not Top Rank where he can't have complete and full control over everything, hence why Hoya, Floyd and Cotto left him to make millions more without him.
When Bob is ready and exhausted ALLLLLLL his options, he will make the fight everyone wants. Which is not Pac vs Clottey, Margarito, Mosley (some would say JMM III, Bradley, JMM IV at WW), and potentially Rios next year.

I think Manny beats Rios badly, with the one caveat being as long as Manny is not totally gone. I have not seen him struggle against a guy like Rios which are the fights he always excelled in, against tricky boxers or guys who don't engage sure Manny has issues but Rios is about as far from tricky as they come he is as simple as a screwdriver and always willing to engage~
It could be fun for a while but when Manny forces Rios back the fight will be over.
Early rounds will be exciting. Pac will test Rios's power and trade. After that its a wrap. Rios is pretty easy to hit. Manny lands all night leading to a stoppage.
Rios will be the fresher and more determined version of Margarito that Manny fought.
But he lacks the experience and skills to last 12 rounds of a Pacman onslaught.
Even at this stage of Manny's career, Rios is in big trouble.
Oh and Manny has a granite chin himself and have taken bigger bombs from bigger boxers. So I'm not sure what are Rios' advantages are at this point.
The general consensus is that Rios gets stopped. I don't think Pac would let his hands go nearly as much as most people believe he will. Pac by 116-112 decision. Rios would test Pac's endurance/stamina/toughness.
The guy Rios went to war with and KOed in a competitive fight was nothing special. Alvarado had to come from way behind to beat Prescott. Beating Alvarado does not make Rios a top guy in my opinion. I think he is about an even match with Garcia. He is very easy to hit and I think an accurate KO puncher like Matthysse would KO him. I don't think Pacquiao would need to wear him down and KO him in the late rounds. I think Pacquiao has the speed, power, and accuracy to take Rios out early.
The only way this fight is hard for Manny id the very possible chance Manny goes into the fight looking more to entertain the fans than win... In that case, he could wind up fading in the later rounds due to Rios' wear down style, but Rios still wouldn't win (legitimately)
Otherwise, Pac destroys him, tears his face up, and ends his career
Rios is overrated and Pacquiao destroys him Margacheato style and since Rios' corner won't stop the fight and Rios won't quit, this fight will pretty much end Rios career..Karma is a motherf*cker for making fun of Freddie Roach..Manny will come out looking for payback for Rios and Cheato making fun of Roach..I would love to see the fight just to see Rios doing the worm after getting KO'd.
This is the type of fighter that made Pac Mania explode. This'll be like the Margo fight IMO. Pac may have lost his step, but not enough to be smothered.
Repeat of the Margarito fight.
Rios is basically a smaller version of Margarito.
Pacquiao TKO 11, losing about 2 rounds to Rios' activity.
A definite fight of the year candidate, though.
False. rios is much quicker with more power
