Paulie Malignaggi understands because he's a fighter. Any poster who has never fought, needs to at least respect the sport and those who have and called Ortiz a quitter, shame on you because you should know better.
Ortiz suffered one of the worst broken jaws I have ever seen. I have never seen the jaw literally crack in half and he fought that way for 5 rounds.
I don't think most people were mad that he quit because his jaw was broken.. most people were mad that he let his jaw get broken by being unprofessional and walking around the ring with his mouth slack jawed as if he wasn't in a fight
Paulie fought with a broken jaw against Cotto; Hes only bigging himself up with this :lol1:
Victor Ortreez on the other hand has no excuse, I don't give a sh1t what anyone says, he should of not only of got Lopez out of there but not been using his face to block punches. His own fault just like the decisions he makes everytime he decides to fold mentally.
Quit against Maidana. ''I don't deserve to get beat up like this!''
Folded against Peterson
Purposely got himself D.Q'd against Corey Alarcon
Started to fold against Floyd & got KTFO
Lets not go on like this is the first time he has quit.
Once a quitter, always a quitter.
I couldnt agree more!
so I guess in your case its once a homo always a homo!
Good night son
The fans pay for a boxer's fights...They have the right to criticize...Without fans, critics boxing solely doesn't exist...That's including if the criticism is biased...It exists in every single sport known to man.
After the fight I was drunk and pissed since it was such an exciting fight so I called him a coward. Then I saw the x-ray and well just look at my sig.

His defense and chin is his downfall, not his heart. He takes too many punches, hard clean punches, and doesn't have the chin to do that. It leads to him quitting.
He HAS heart, he wouldn't be a fighter for a LIVING. All he ever knew how to do is fight, since he was a kid. He took a lot of punches from Maidana and Lopez, and Lopez broke his jaw in two places. Maidana was just ourtight quitting, he couldn't take any more punches and doesn't know how to defend himself, his defense is to hit back. He quit.
For the Lopez fight, his jaw was broken in two places. You just can't mess around with that. I could only imagine the pain of a broken jaw in one place, but multiple places...anyone would quit.
I wouldn't say he has a bad chin. Sure he's been dropped but he comes right back at you, look at the Berto fight. Sure Mayweather "KOed" him but he took 2 blind shots he was not expecting and with his mouth opened I believe. Ortiz is like an oxymoron, the dude is tough in a way but a quitter at the same time. Idk how that works but that's how I see him. I guess it has something to do with his weak mentality.

Ortiz is a certified btch. Ass soon ass he fights some one who can take his punch and keep going forward he will quit again. Dont want to see this clown again on hbo or showtime send his ass to espn or telefuturayou mean like the berto fight?
I retired in a fight due to a broken jaw so i know how he feels. it didn't bother me much at the time either. but then again i didn't have people on the web calling me a coward though.

I think a lot of people are still mad with Victor for head butting Floyd, so they rip him at every opportunity. His jaw was broken in two places, can't knock him for that.
I also think down the road Paulie Malignaggi will make a great boxing analyst.
as good as roy?
Paulie just said what only 4-5 members, including me, were saying. Basically looking at the situation in a realistic manner, instead of a dumb ass fan who's never experienced a broken jaw. The rest of 1,000+ members will be in here tearing Paulie a new one.
Or claiming they've said that all along...

ortiz does get alot of flak and so did dawson.
but i think some people need to re-evaluate things. theres nothing smart in staying on your feet and getting a batering.
its much smarter to accept that maybe tonight isn't your night and that you will live to fight another day. thats what vasquez did in his first fight with marquez and no-one calls him a coward
The bold is 100% correct. It's a recipe for disaster, especially if your jaw is broken or if you're taking a hellacious ass whooping. But some people have that "if it were me" thing going on. Yea, right.
