Pacquiao Booked For April Fight

MANILA, Philippines — Bob Arum has already booked Manny Pacquiao a fight next year provided that he gets past Juan Manuel Marquez on Dec. 8 in Las Vegas, a sign that the Filipino is not retiring anytime soon.
“I have talked with Manny and we agreed to hold his fight (in 2013) on April 20,” Arum told the Bulletin on Wednesday.
Arum said that date is perfect since it will come at a time after March Madness, the US NCAA college basketball finals that takes place in March and just before the May 2013 elections.
Arum said he is not looking too far ahead because Marquez is going to be a very tough challenge for Pacquiao, who is hoping to put an end to the controversy over his first three matches with the Mexican counter-puncher.
Even though Pacquiao had won two of three bouts, the first having ended on a split draw in 2004, ringsiders believe the Marquez had actually been robbed each time.
Pacquiao, who turns 34 on Dec. 17, wants to finally silence his critics, while the 39-year-old Marquez is out to prove that he has Pacquiao’s number with a convincing stoppage win in this fourth fight.
Arum believes there won’t be a fifth chapter to one of boxing’s most storied rivalry.
“Neither fighter wants a fifth fight,” said the 80-year-old Hall of Fame promoter.
Pacquiao is set to leave for training in the US and he has already filed his certificate of candidacy as congressman of Sarangani so he can fully concentrate on his eight-week buildup under Freddie Roach.
Marquez, meanwhile, is in the early stages of his preparation, showing up at the Romanza Gym in Mexico City in the afternoon after doing his morning workout in the mountains of Toluca that includes such primitive methods like wood-chopping.
From what Marquez has been showing, he is out to ruin Pacquiao and Arum’s plans next year.

PLEASE-NO DEBATING BOUT MANNY AND FLOYD
That was what you guys were saying just weeks ago. You were jumping up and down there's finally a close member in Mayweather's team who is bold enough to talk with Arum. Turns out 50cent was just duped into thinking his friend was serious in fighting Pac.
Long story short, the whole timeline is fvcked up again. I don't even know what the purpose of this thread is. It's making the assumption that Floyd will just sit around for months, wait for Pac's forthcoming fight to be over then start negotiating the fight.
Floyd has been inactive for five months now since his last fight. If the assumption is true, and he won't be fighting any time soon, man this guy is virtually retired. Same guy who said he will be fighting five more times just five months ago.
I NEVER said any of this. Don't lump me up with other people.
He apparently has signed a fight in December 21st with Buakaw Banchamek, I can't 100% confirm this, its an exhibition fight, I'm interested in this one more than JMM VS Pac 4
Cant you read threads? You telling us that this fight will not happen if not on Cinco de Mayo weekends? May 13th next year is the election day where Pac is running again for congress. Floyd vs Pac is bigger than Cinco de Mayo and Mexicans will still watch Floyd vs Pac even not on Cinco de Mayo... that fight is so huge and no special holiday is needed! get it?
so May date is so critical for Pac to win in the elections..?
if a rapist congressman in jail can win the election. Pac can win the election even if they fight in the moon in May...:lol1:
this good news. i don't give a sh1t if mayweather refuses to fight. pacquiao will still dominate the welterweight division until he retires probably 2015
Yes I lost the battle of who is the bigger flom0.
Hold that title proudly!
BRB making fun of Pacquiao in another thread
If that made your day .... cool .... at least I made one person happy today .....
Verbal insults now? ...... I guess you lost again!

Floyd wants to fight a war-torned Pac to level the playing field.
Yea it is a complete justifiable complaint to anyone who isn't a nut sucking loser.... You are the only one who would have a problem with it.

You answered your own question buddy ... lol!

I am complaining about what exactly? How this Floyd-Pac bullsh1t is done and has been done for the past 2 years and there doesn't need to be threads about it every 20 minutes? Yes I am complaining about it because I am a boxing fan, you on the other hand. You LIVE off the nut juice of Floyd. And now you are living off MY nut juice. How much nut juice do you need??
You answered your own question buddy ... lol!
I saw the flaw in my argument, but you were the first one to point it out. So kudos =P Anyhow realistically he shouldn't be fighting until after the election because he's using a ton of time anyhow. The reason my argument is still valid is because he's fighting so close to that date to begin with. If it was really about the elections IMO, he would wait til they were over. Still would be a crap date, but that argument would hold more ground.
If Manny would choose a date after the elections it still wouldn't be May 5th weekend so this thread would still be made by the TS or some other Floyd fan.
but I agree that I'm actually surprised that he would fight in April with an election in May .... but Manny made no excuse and still wants to fight even with an election. You can't fault Manny on this as its not him who chooses the election date .... he can only choose a date for his fights.
Do people, really, really, really really, think that 50 Cent was ever going to actually make a Mayweather-Manny fight?

Look who just popped up complaining again!!! lol!
Were you saying the same about Floyd last year?

:pat: :haha:
Wow! I will just say that this is a funny (use your own words) post.
So if Manny fights on May 5th weekend in Vegas, it will only take one day out of his campaigning? Really? lol!
How about the time out because he will be training? Especially when training at the Wild Card gym in USA? If it works out for the Marquez fight, Manny may want to do his training completely at Roach's gym. Even travel time to get back to the Phils will be a long exhausting flight. Time to recoup? Possible hospital time? Certainly he will take time to do a (singing) concert? lol!
Anyhow, we were well aware of Manny possibly fighting in April due to the elections in May .... you guys just put 2 and 2 together now .....

Hilarious how Pac does the SAME EXACT thing that Floyd does, but it's always justified.:lol1: Anyway does anyone really care anymore?
Look who just popped up complaining again!!! lol!

So he only campaigns for two weeks? He'll start his campaign on April 21st then right? Come on now, you campaign people vote, you don't miss much taking one day out of it.
:pat: :haha:

Reasonable people no. 50 cent has never promoted a fight, but magically he was going to make floyd and TR come to terms for a mega fight... a lot of faith in the guy I guess.
