the cowardice of bernard hopkins
- loses to roy jones so drains himself to make 160 so he can avoid him for the rest of his career
- beating a skill less big welterweight in trinidad who made his name overpowering smaller opponents in his 'biggest win'
- beats midget de la hoya at a catch weight (what a joke this guy is, camping out at such a low weight)
- loses to bum taylor twice
- moves up to fight tarver (one of only risks he made, to cash in)
- fights middleweight winky at 170 catchweight (winky fat as hell, head butts him to decision)
- fights smw calzaghe (makes another smaller guy move up) and loses while trying to get out of the fight feigning injury
- fights middleweight champion pavlik at 170 catchweight (catchweight king hopkins?) pavlik also another guy who made his name overpowering smaller opponents not out boxing them
- fights old, shot roy jones (even after calzaghe fought him yet he gets no stick for it)
- waits until dawson loses to pascal who is a one dimensional fighter, cherry picks pascal
- gets forced into fighting dawson by wbc, chickens out of fight faking injury (like he tried vs joe calzaghe)
- loses rematch to dawson (obviously)
- ducks andre ward
how can a guy who had a trilogy with robert allen be considered a great fighter?
hopkins has had 3 catchweights vs smaller opponents! constantly tries to make fighters move up to fight him while reluctant to do it himself, only did it at end of career to cash in and it paid off.
catchweight king, cherry picker, ducker + coward = bernard hopkins

some many brain washed fans its sad
leonard is a legend.. he beat duran, hagler, hearns all atgs in prime.
hopkins resume = tarver, blown up tito, blown up pavlik
lmao
hopkins probably top 20 all time. top 5 pure middleweights at 160
its how an ex-felon like him made it back into the system and redeemed himself that makes him a living legend.
Why you so BUTT HURT Bernard dominated Kelly Pavlik and made him into a drunk:boxing::boxing::boxing:
B HOP is an ATG. I like his front teeth gap
haha is that what it is. How sad is it that the ts's biggest claim to fame in life is being a Kelly Pavlik internet butt boy.
I do think Hopkins is better than his resume. I feel his resume is overblown somewhat but he is still the oldest champion of all time beating a young hungry fighter in Pascal. He is clearly a highly skilled boxer and I wouldn't put that many people as favorite to beat him in his prime but yeah, his resume is overrated at the same time.

I await seckondz out and Phillys finest to put you straight.
lol at calling tito a skill-less big welterweight. talk about not knowing what the **** you're talking about. the guy was one of the best punchers of all time, in power p4p, and in putting punches together. he may have been limited, but skill-less? rofl.

Right on the head!!
bernard hopkins, best win, was against antonio tarver, with the jean pascal rematch, a runner up...that said, had bernard hopkins, beat fellow atg roy jones, when roy jones was a phenom, jermaine taylor 2x, and atg joe calzaghe, and tried to make a fight and beat atg james toney (never understood why he didn't realize he needed toney to cement a solid legacy), i would rate bernard hopkins, up there with the best of 'em...

This can pretty much be done with every other fighter out there; and it probably has been done come to think of it...

LEGEND
Deal with it.
How can a guy who fought mario veit twice and Tucker Pudwil be considered a legend?
Actually it's quite hilarious to compare the resumes of hopkins and calzaghe
Hopkins best wins:
Trinidad
Glen Johnson
Kelly Pavlik
Jean Pascal
Antonio Tarver
Antwun Echols
Winky Wright
Oscar De La Hoya
Howard Eastman
Calzaghe:
Jeff Lacy
Kessler
43 year old hopkins
then it's umm...
Tucker pudwil
calzaghe is not a legend and neither is hopkins
im stating facts, looks like a lot of people are brainwashed into thinking he was a legend.
how many legends need 3 catchweights vs smaller opponents, wait.. thats right.. smaller opponents!
