euro level
should be a good fight, mitchell will probably try to engage more because he won't be too worried about rickys power, while ricky will try outboxing him with counters..
Burns has underrated power. He chooses to box rather than throw punches with bad intentions. But he had Martinez wobbling more than once. Mitchell will underestimate this at his peril.
No.
But that didn't get him the shot, beating a domestic level fighter in John Murray did. The winner of that fight would go on to meet Burns in a ' battle of Britain ', Mitchell earns his shot by his nationality.
This is not to say he's completely undeserving, he's proven his worth.
Yeah, he's proven his worth at domestic level!
TBF, who did Ricky beat to earn his world title shot? Before his world title shot he beat Al Hamidi who had a record of 6-26...
Taking the '0' from John Murray is more deserving than adding loss number 27 to Himidi.
No one has beaten Prescott more impressively than what Mitchell did. McCloskey, Alvarado and Vazquez being the only other people Prescott has lost too. He's a lot closer to world level then what Murray is, Mendoza is etc... Infact, the only person who's a better name on Mitchell's resume is Kats and that was a 3 rd demolition loss.
He's won of Mitchell's best wins.
IMO beating Prescott doesnt put him in line for a World title shot...just saying.
Prescott is a very underrated fighter who holds a K.O victory over Khan and a close SD win over Richard Abril. He was robbed vs McCloskey
He took an extremely solid world champion in Vazquez all the way and even had him on the deck.
He was giving Alvarado a boxing lesson until he gassed.
Prescott is a very good fighter and a very good name to have on your resume. Only world class fighters get passed him legitimately.
Though I feel Prescott was drained at 135, I can not deny the excellence of Mitchell that night who boxed perfectly to a great gameplan.
Not sure about all this Mitchell deserves this and that, other than John Murray who we know is European level he hasnt got any one of note on his record.
To me he hasnt even earnt this fight, Burns will show him whos's boss as he's the one who agreed to it, put him in his place then its back to the begining for Mitchell and Im not sure he's up for that.
Great to see him back fighting for a world title, I'm a big fan of Kev.
Obviously he was having serious problems around the Katsidis fight and it showed, but otherwise he's shown nothing but pure class. He's the better fighter in this fight, he's also faster and hits harder....the only issue will be Burns' length.
Still, Mitchell wins.
i dont think thats wlad klitschko on the left, looks too small.
mitchell didn't look great getting knocked out by katsidis and overall burns is the better boxer, mitchell is a skilled boxer, more one-dimensional but with much more power..

He is a euro level fighter...nothing more IMO
Frank Buglioni and Billy Joe Saunders look pretty huge for their respective weight-classes.
Buglioni hasn't looked uber impressive so far but he is built like a brick shithouse.
Pretty much agree. A kayo could happen but only if Ricky over commits & gets caught but he's too savvy for that.
Can't wait though.
Ricky's got a tight defense ontop of a solid chin. I'd honestly be really surprised if a stoppage happens.
Mitchell can punch though. But I see it being tactical, on both parts. Both are going to look to box I feel.
Mitchell can punch but Burns has a solid chin, I don't see a KO.
I think it's going to be tactical from the start but I think Mitchell's going to have to force it a little but stick to the gameplan.

Yeah I am kind of worried about that too! Mitchells got fast heavy hands, I am hoping he can take it out the judges hands though something just keeps telling me Mitchell TKO7 I think it likely goes the distance.

His team are very happy with how his camp has gone.
Mitchell is a very good fighter but looks small at the weight. It really showed up when he fought Katsedis and bit off more than he could chew. This is a tough fight for him. He deserves a lot of respect just for taking the fight. This looks a 50 50 fight to me.
Burns is a good fighter but I always thought Mitchell was a better fighter.
Still, it's going to be a close fight no doubt. I don't see either fighter dominating.
I worry that Mitchell will struggle to get a decision in Glasgow.

I like both guys, Burns really won me over with his last few performances.
Not rooting for either just hoping for a great fight. (Come on Mitchell! HAMMER TIME!!!)
