I was told that @GoldenBoyBoxing offered @HBOboxing a December fight between @AmirKingKhan and Humberto Soto and was turned down. #boxing
This would be a great fight & makes sense for both fighters looking too rebound.
who wins this one? Bit on the fence at the minute.
the issue with khan is the money. they wont get his fights cheap, so they really cant afford to put the guy on an undercard. they dont want him in a main event at this stage, so they'll wait until he's made a comeback on somebody else's dollar. i think this is a terrific move for them. ask him to take a paycut, and if he doesnt, you make him go through the comeback process/rebuilding process somewhere else, likely in europe.
it's obviously not his name, record, or style that keeps him off of HBO, in my opinion. it's the price. if he makes a comeback in europe first and he gets a nice win then they'll certainly invite him abck.
If Khan is still after over $1 Million a fight you can see why HBO turned their noses up at this fight. Demanding loads of money per fight means he can only take on dangerous big names to justify the amounts and right now he should lower the risk take on safer fights as he works his way up the ranks with his new coach.
LMAO at this poll Soto hasn't stopped anyone since he fought at 130
he's been a good offensive fighter who has hurt some good sized and usually durable guys. antillon and mathysse aren't much smaller than khan. mathysse certainly has the better chin. soto had mathysse hurt, and was actually giving a pretty good account of himself until got badly hurt very late in that fight.
i dont think this is a main event level fight on hbo. maybe BAD, but they'd need a good looking undercard.

Khan should seriously just target a rematch with Lamont PEDerson.
The IBF are letting him keep his gifted belt so it'd be a nice way to get back in the title picture. Its a natural fight with the back-story etc.
I'd be cool with either tbh though I would thoroughly recommend he doesn't fight Matthysse unless he wants flattening again and nowhere to go.
I think Soto is too dangerous at this stage actually.
I would say he needs to build his confidence up again and take a sort of tune up that won't be a complete walkover but hes just so delusional he actually said it was a lucky punch lol
I mean what the hell do you even say to that? :?!: lol
Maybe a domestic clash with Ashley Theophane in the U.K, that would sell well. Theophane doesn't have much power at all and he could always give it the old ''Theophane arguably beat Danny Garcia''
IDK.
Ashley Theophane would be a dangerous fight for Khan. He is very underated and technically far more sound than Khan well capable of beating him. He gave Garcia a hard time

If HBO are turning their noses up at Khan fights and if Team Khan are not budging on their over $1 Million a fight deal Khan will be left with 2 choices taking less money and building up slowly or going for dangerous fights and getting KOd again.
thankk gooooooodddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
KAHN DOES NOT DESERVE ANOTHER TV SPOT WTF!
I DONTUNDERSTAND HES BEEN KOED COLD TWICE BY NOT SO GREAT FIGHTERS WHAT THE FUICK IS THE OBSESSION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IM BOYCOTTING KAHN
"IM READY FOR MAYWEATHER" REALLY??
"ILL SUCCEED WHERE HATTON FAILED " REALLY???????
**** OFF CON!
You shouldn't be so hard on Khan imo. Because not only were Khan & Pacman fans saying Khan beats Floyd. Floyd fans were hyping it too. That's 3 fanbases right there. The Floyd fans were touting this fight through the roof.
He also got dropped heavily in the amateurs by Scott Lawton with the very same punch. Michael Gomez also dropped him with a counter left hook.

HBO show include in it's contract, "If you get ktfo, we shouldn't be responsible for airing your comeback fights against easy opponents"
A three fight contract, should only include fights good enough for HBO. Let Khan fight a couple fighters elsewhere and when he is ready, let him finish his contract. Either way, I bet HBO wouldn't be interested in another contract with Khan when this one is over. Why dish out the big bucks only to have him fail again.
The thing is he really hasn't learned a thing from his amateur days and it shows if he is making the same mistakes & getting dropped & knocked out repeatedly by the same shot.
Can any trainer help him? I think a real strict oldschool trainer needs too crush his ego or something if there is any chance of drilling those bad habits out of him.
He just don't seem to ever learn from his mistakes and I'm certain he still thinks he is an elite level fighter. The guys got those Audley Harrison delusions going on.
Yeah. I think he just stands with no head movement still thinking that the opponents will not likely to counter anything significant during his amateur days. The worst part is that when he moves up weigh or slows as he approaches say 28, he will be done fighting the same way.

I don't know how you can compare him to Audley Harrison. Khan is an accomplished fighter no matter what his detractors say.
The fact is Khan hasn't had a trainer that is willing to teach him to be more defensive minded. I've never seen Roach teach Khan defensive manoeuvres, how to hold effectively, or how to slip punches and move his head.
He reigned in Khan's aggressiveness some what, and he showed improvement for a couple of fights but he's been on the decline since.
I'm convinced that Khan would have coasted to victory against Garcia if he wasn't so reckless. He should never throw an uppercut or more than a two punch combination while on the front-foot ever again. He needs to be a double jab, right hand, at distance fighter for the rest of his career.
With improvement Khan can still beat the big names and go on to more success. He will lose a few more, but he will win more big fights than he loses if he makes the defensive improvements he needs. He's not too intelligent Khan, and relies on his heart too much, but he is a quick learner, a good listener, and very talented. With that kind of fighter who's still only 25, you can make a lot of improvements.

nacho beristain?
forget the HBO dates for now. being under the bright lights will only serve to inflate his ego. take a couple tuneups back home to sharpen his game if he wants to take his career seriously. khan is one power punch away from being on Friday Night Fights.

I think he needs to revamp his whole game and basically start out defensively. His head movement is really not there when he throws the punch. And anything hard on the right side of Khan face (like a solid left hook) seems to have effect on him. He needs to jab and be on the bicycle most of the time now. Do a "Tour de France" in the ring if he must.
Haha even though he took most of the sting off Maidanas shot, he lived to see another day.
Maybe the left side is granite, the right made of putty.
His head movement though like you say is just non existent, I've known this for some years now and when I seen the sparring footage in prep for Garcia I was just gobsmacked to how easy & clean his sparring partner was landing. Over & over again, like my god move your damn head!
He needs a lot of work, Virgil Hunter better be even better than they say he is if this guys to ever hang around world level.

DAYUM.... It's the SAME focking left hook. Maybe Danny's dadda talking sh1t really knew the weakness...Khan needs a brand new style of fighting and I am kind of skeptical. He can go against Malignagi someone w/o too much power. Berto and Ortiz would have a good shot beating Khan if he fights this way.
