Why does the WBC block unification?what is it's official reason?

Which is why they stick their Diamond b.s in any fight that generates revenue and they don't have their hand in. Cotto vs Pac May vs Cotto Freaking Donaire vs Nishioka Supposedly, the Diamond belt does not have a sanctioning fee attached to it, it's just a "prize". It doesn't have a lineage that one would follow, it's only for that specific fight. Now, there's been a bunch of shady shit done by the ABC organizations in recent memory. You've had the WBO strip Pirog because he wanted to unify with Golovkin, you've had WBC say they would strip Canelo if he fought Trout. WBC also unfairly stripped Sergio of his MW title. I know people had problems when the IBF decided not to strip Peterson although he tested positive. Everyone, feel free to add to the list lol

Hopefully this will start pushing countries into not recognizing the WBC as a legitimate sanctioning body. In Japan, the IBF and WBO are not recognised - will this push them into dropping the WBC & recognizing the IBF instead, which seems to the best out of the lot. And what happens when the WBC try to strip one of the big, popular German champions because of this? - the Germans are not likely to be impressed. And what happens if they try to strip one of the Klitchko's?? I see a lot of court cases in the WBC's future in they try such stunts Europe, with a possibility of them being referred to one of the higher EU courts, with their future as a recognized santioning body in Europe at stake. Also the Russians are finally getting their stuff together in the pro game - watch how unimpressed they are likely to get if it happens a few times to some of their guys... Or maybe we should just hope that the corrupt piece of garbage that is Jose Sulaiman will finally just f*cking die, & leave the boxing world atleast a slightly better place...

I don't think they've given an official reason. It shouldn't be related to sanctioning fees because they could establish the % they want and other commissions can't change that. I think they're trying to stick it to their competition and steal away the fighters. At any rate, it hurts the sport, and the rule will likely be applied at Sulaiman's discretion. For example, they would never strip Mayweather for something like this.

If a boxer has all the belts, Sillyman and the Crooks can't force his hand, whereas the if they only have the Crooks WBC belt and what is deemed a more "minor" belt, the chances are the prestige of the We Be Crooks belt might be enough to keep that person towing the line Sillyman and his clowns want. Title belts and rankings are no longer used to justify who a champion should fight as it is a way to NOT make a certain fight. It sucks but as long as championship status is what guarantees purse splits, fighters will continue to fight for these organizations.

they have interests that vary greatly from the other organizations they all push separate agendas. who cares? there's a lineal champion in many of the divisions now. you've got champs who beat the champ, and champs that are crowed when the top two guys fight for a vacant championship you used to be able to use ring mag's belt it's a bit more of a bargaining tool than it used to be, considering that goldenboy owns it.
