"..." Arum said. "... Look at the past numbers. When Pacquiao fought Marquez (in November), it sold close to 1.3 million pay-per-view ..."
So... Arum lies by at least 200K. Maybe that's why he hasn't allowed HBO to release the numbers for JMM III or Bradley fights. Still waiting on the Mosley numbers as well...
1) 1.40 - 1.3 = 100K
1.45 - 1.3 = 150K
So how did you get "at least" 200K? Oh wait you just decided to create a thread "exposing" Arum's exaggeration while also exaggerating your numbers.
2) It's been 1 year, let it go already
Arum is exaggerating even with his "close to 1.3 million."

This is very interesting. It's interesting how Arum's numbers are all over the place.
The Truth, however, never changes..
NBA, MLB and NFL fans can talk about contracts but boxing fans cant talk about purses, ppv numbers etc. Its bullshyt. Its just something that posters do to make other posters feel stupid basically. It is probably the biggest cop out on here as well as "manny always loses fantasy fights."

No reason to explain yourself brah.... This is a boxing forum, every aspect of it, in fact.
I know I didn't but I hadn't explained that in a while so I figured I might as well make it clear. I do like people to know where I am coming from.
Here I will break it down real quick~
I find sport business interesting, all sport business and this is a boxing website so talking about the business of boxing should be fair game that should not get questioned and told to shut up by people who don't care about it. PPV are a huge part of the business of boxing thus are very important to a part of the sport that I do care about, if you don't care good for you but people can care about different stuff~
On top of that I talk tons of boxing and different aspects of the sport it is not like I just talk the business of boxing but I find that understanding the business side of the sport leads to greater understanding of what actually takes place~

Oh, it means very little, I agree with you. At the end of the day, maybe 5% care because what happens in the ring is all that actually matters, 2M PPV buys or 2,000. I'm just making a point directly about the numbers put out there. 1.45M came to be the accepted figure. Which at that time would have been more than any Mayweather PPV. Arum saying almost 1.3M puts the actual buys around 1.25M for me. 200K off.
I'll move on, but it's the constant misdirection by Arum that is so perplexing. The man lies so much he can't even keep his lies together.

1.2+ is still very good but yea Arum would say or do whatever to look good because even if he gets called on it it will be way after the fact and in small print so only a few will take notice.
