If Martinez's gets passed Chavez (Which I expect him to do) what about this fight? He'd have essentially cleaned out the Middleweight division, he's after pound for pound glory what way would be better than moving up one division and fighting a fighter who by some is regarded as the best in the world.
Typical? What a **** poster you are. Ward was getting dropped at 160 because he was weight drained. That's why he fights at 168 now moron.
Ok...... Ragemoar bro.
So Ward getting dropped was the weight's fault but when he drops Dawson the weight wasn't an issue. He just hits like a truck.
:lol1:
lulz okay Skills that was total pwnage right there you must admit.

good thing for ward again, he stays at his comfort zone, i'll doubt he'll give martinez a catchweight (which ofcourse sukkks) even if its a more reward less risk fight than the dawson fight.. IMO he'll beat martinez handily at his weight, he has everything that it takes in there and lets not forget martinez is a small middleweight already but i still doubt he'll make 154 that easy..
martinez doesnt have the inside game to neutralize anything that ward does.
he'll get KOed, just too big, smart and strong for him..
to beat ward we need the best version of hopkins in there..
I doubt he'd be rated as #1 if he beats Floyd as I doubt it'd show tremendous skill on his part. It'd be a case of a larger fighter beating a smaller fighter.
But according to 4Corners we're talking about a drained fighter beating a guy at his own weight.
So his current resume + Chavez Jr and Floyd would not get him the #1 spot? That's harsh man...
He would be #1 too if he beat Floyd. IMO Floyd is a more winnable fight than Ward and more possible of actually happening.

If he's beats Ward at Super Middleweight ( Not going to happen) then it couldn't be argued that it was down to a weight advantage, it'd be based on his skill.
Of course he could just stick to fighting the Middleweights in his division.
He was 186 yesterday? Damn, then he was severely dehydrated ... We're talking about an 11% loss of his body weight just of water. Only a few boxers do this and in fact look like crap during the weight in (see Rios, Jr)
Actually, was it 186? I think I remember saying he gained 19 or 20 lbs. But yea and these people still have the nerves the weight wasn't an issue.
If martinez beat Ward that in my opinión os imposible, his the 1 p4p

the winner of jr - martinez vs ward would be a terrific fight. one of the most intriguing that could be made. it would sell. i'm not sure how competitive it would be, in fairness. i dont see anything from martinez and jr that makes me think they could beat ward.
Maybe Martinez-Ward but definitely not Chavez-Ward. If you don't think they could beat Ward why do you think it would be intriguing?
Me being a fan of Floyd and Ward doesn't change the fact that everyone is saying Dawson was drained, even though he was 186 lbs on fight night and looked in good shape at the weigh in.
So if people are saying that, what would be the difference if Sergio went down to 154 and looked in shape at the weigh in, and then weighed around 165 lbs or so on fight night???
People would be saying the same thing if they keep it 100.
Still back to what you originally quoted me on, yes Sergio is MUCH bigger than Floyd. Sergio and Floyd are further away in size than Sergio and Ward, that's a fact.

oh my gosh
if ward didn't drop a few lbs via catchweight you'd never hear the end of it
i can see the photoshopped pictures of martinez with a gut floating about

Well, I was talking about weight/size wise. Plus everyone knows Floyd is the #1 guy and Martinez also wants that paycheck regardless of what he says. Everybody does.

Even if he was 186 on fight night, that doesn't mean he wasn't drained. The damage done to your body is already done by the time of the weigh in. His training was probably heavily focused on dropping the weight compared to preparing for the fight.
The only evidence you really need is to see the way in which Dawson took Ward's punches. Ward is not a big puncher, everyone knows this. Yet Dawson was dropped multiple times from average shots, not even power shots.
Dawson, at 175, has been hit much harder by much heavier hitters and not gone down from them.
It was obvious he was drained.
BUT, like I said before. At 175 lbs, Ward would still win. But he would win by decision in a boring fight and not ever really hurt Chad. Chad just doesn't have what it takes anymore, I'm not sure he ever did. He doesn't have that will to win that Ward, Mayweather, Pac (pre-Mosley) and others have. He just doesn't have the heart.
From what I recall Martinez expressed interest at 165 and Wars entertained the idea, but it just died off and the last we heard was Lou saying the advantages Serg has at middle and 154 would be gone if he put on more muscle...which makes sense. Wards a pretty big 168 while Martinez is already a smallish 160. They each win at each others class. Ward would be drained, Martinez wouldnt have the speed advantage or strength. Theyre close yet so far. Massive props to either if they challenged the other. Bu if Martinez wins against JCC Jr expect him to go down to 154 an put himself in position for Floyd. BundrGe would be a good keep busy fight. Martinez already took the risk in moving up. Ward should challenge himself imo instead of having everyone go to him as usual, even when he didnt deserve it.
Martinez is like 40 lol. Youre asking a near 40 year old to pack on the muscle instead of the youngster lose weight? There too much bias in the Argument. Floyd and Martinez is only possible because Floyd just fought at 154 and has shown interest in Martinez should he beat Chavez. Every guy Martinez has fought recently has appeared bigger. Even Dzinziruk seemed a bit bigger.
It's all about how these fighters look on the scales/fight night. It seems to me you're the one just making these excuses.
But I just saw your sig and the first 2 names you have on there, it's cool. :fing02:

Everyone will already say Sergio was drained at 150, which he very well may be. S**t, Dawson went down from 175 to 168 and everyone said he was drained, which probably means if Sergio went down from 160 to 154 people would say he was drained.

Fighting Sergio is a lose-lose situation? Please explain cause as far as Im concerned they would be fighting the currently #3 P4P guy. A lot of people here are saying it would put an emphasis on Floyd's "legacy". And let's say Sergio beats Chavez, his stock would be that much bigger.
Fighting Sergio at 150 lbs is a lose-lose situation......yes. If they lose, they lose to a big guy who came down in weight. If they win, they beat a big fighter who was drained. Lose-lose.
