Thanks guys! The WBC belt was nice and shiny in person.. Had a little more weight than I thought it would have.
No pic with Dawson because I was out of town for his media day and after the weigh ins he disappeared.
Got a few more good pics from the fights tonight that I'll post tomorrow.
I spoke briefly with Steve Smoger after the fight and asked him what dawson said before he stopped the fight... He asked chad "what do you want me to do?" and chad said " get me the f*ck outta here."

Which is why I laugh every time someone claims they could go the full 12 with Malignaggi. Could ring true for some fight fans but the majority would be weezing by the fourth round.
Chad Dawson simply had no options, he couldn't get on his bike because his tank was empty he couldn't tie Ward up because Ward is a beast on the inside.
:D Never seen anyone claim this but i wouldn't be surprised.
Malignaggi would KO 95% of the posters on this forum.
Just because he can't KO most professionally trained fellow Boxers...dont be fooled into thinking you(aimed at those who said sh1t like that), a nobody who's last fight was probably in high school could mix it with him just because he hasn't the power to KO his fellow Boxers...he'd KO these internet warriors easy enough.
Again half these guys saying they'd fight on I doubt they've ever even been in a fight with anyone worth talking about.
As for the guy who said he'd take both Ward and Dawson on for Dawsons pay cheque I think you really should start prizefighting.
Theres nothing wrong with quitting when you're clearly outclassed.. Whats the point? I only hate on fighters like judah and Ortiz because they quit when they're still in the fight.
And all the e-thugs need to stfu, if you're so damn tough, how come i dont see you in the ring?
Do you realize how stupid you sound? Ortiz quitting is bad because he was still in the fight? Do you realize that he had a broken jaw and he new it as well? What injuries did Dawson have from preventing him from fighting on? a broken sack?
Dang, what's with the crucification of Dawson?
I think it's because some people said Dawson was "soft" while a lot of people strongly disagreed with that notion.
The fact that he quit proves a lot of people wrong and threads like this are more or less a "I told you so" thread.
Dawson knew he was beat from around R3 when Ward had effectively neutralised him and KD'd him twice. I think mentally he was gone from then on.
If he wanted out then that's his prerogative, you have to respect the guy from dropping down in weight and going to Ward's hometown.
Because HBO want the full African American to suffer. Ward is more white than Black so they accept him.
Yeah, American's are so in love with white-ish boxers. It's why Pacman, Mayweather and Cotto are drawing PPV's and DLH and Tyson were popular too. ****ing white ass boxers right there.
and im a fighter who prides myself on never being down on the canvas. been down twice in sparring due to body shots, after which 2 weeks of hard core training put an end to that. never been stopped, never down in competition, never been hurt honestly, but i still understand chad's position.
its not about quitting its about preserving his career. why take 3 more rounds of beatdown when your being dominated. not like he quit right away. he fought for 10 rounds after being dropped twice and knowing you have no legs. im just saying, pushing through pain and not quitting is one thing. when your drained, its like you see the opening and know what to throw but your body just doesnt respond. its impossible to imagine unless youve felt it. as for your job, i would be much more fearful of doing what you do then stepping in the ring. the ring is a controlled environment, prison is another world lol. but at the end of the day, chads getting punched in the face for no reason. call it a day and come back to fight another day. imo scully should have stopped it when chad went down the last time, rather than making chad say it.
You need to relocate. In IL, for bilinguals who speak fluid Spanish. The starting salary for correctional officers are 54k a year.
I already speak a little spanish. Last year I cleared 25K :nonono:
Never got in a boxing ring, but I step into cellblocks with convicted murderers and gang member every day. Just go ask Mike Tyson which was more scary/dangerous....his time in the ring or in prison. I work a hazardous job to. And when I fight guys, I get paid 11.41 an hour, not millions. But I still do my job.

Boxing is a sport comparing it to a street/prison fight is beyond stupid. In one situation your life could depend on you continuing to fight in the other situation only people's recognition is on the line.
Ask Mike Tyson what scared him more. I put my life on the line every day at the job.
This is probably balanced out by the fact that Dawson doesn't start threads on here once per week saying that he's about to commit suicide.
:nonono:
Im still here aint I??? I dont wanna die, im not a quitter. I didnt quit when things in my life became unbearably hard, and I NEVER will. I stayed the course though the darkest time in my life and came out stronger than ever.
I have not read all the comments on this thread but ward sure fought well Dawson did not seem able to mount any offence and was taking a beating to end when he did may have been a wise move. There was no doubt as to who the better man was on that night.

you know they showed a replay of the stoppage on hbo where they listened in to what dawson was saying right? dawson for a fact didnt say that. he didnt want to continue, true. but thats no reason to make **** up.

You played a football game with the flu and you are greater than Chad Dawson and cut of the same cloth as Michael Jordan?!?!? Haha! Who exactly did you play against in that epic JV football matchup?
Yeah
Me and MJ>>>>>>>>>sad chad
I played an entire football game with the flu once, never came off the field...I didnt quit....and I sure as hell didnt get paid millions for it. Michael Jordan did the same thing.

Guaranteed this dude right here never laced up or stepped up into a ring...
This is a boxing forum bud, not a basketball or football forum.

im talkin good ole amurican football. try laying down in full pads and just rolling up and down the 100 yard field for 2 straight hours. entire team puking at least 3 times each. this was before all the new nancy sht about dehydration. Water is for cowards. Water makes you weak. Water is for washing blood off that uniform and you don't get no blood on my uniform, boy you must be outside your mind! We are going to do up-downs, until Blue is no longer tired, and thirsty!!! lol good times. still not the same as draining your body for a fight.
Yes, Im American, I played football. I do agree Boxing is much harder than football...but still a little similar as both are very pysical sports.
Refereees aren't doctors. Ask Margaritos right eye. Just because someone is getting paid doesnt mean they should throw their life and future away.
Have you ever stepped into the ring? Going 10 ounds on mitts and on the bags without getting hit is unbelivably exhausting enough in itself.. Its like running a marathon. The majority of people probably cant even go past 5. Now add getting hit, which feels like your brain and skull being torn apart and having a 2 inch gash above your eye and being so drained you can hardly stand and you're fighting the S.O.G
Getting paid doesnt justify acting like a fool. Winning does, but chad was not winning that night

Ya, American football...not soccer. Victory or death...no other option...this is spartan law.
I also once ran 46 hill sprints and got an awful leg cramp. I was in alot of pain, but too close to 50....so i ran the last 3 in pure agony....cause IM NOT A QUITTER.
