Why not P4P #1 Andre Ward

He is a one division champ while pacquiao and mayweather are multi division champs, they beat everyone in multiple weight classes, ward just fought at SMW and 90% of his fights are in his backyard. So you don't think Hagler is an ATG right?

My whole point is, Ward has beat all the TOP competition very EASILY!!! When the top three P4P has lost or struggled with top competition!!! Who'd Mayweather struggle with again? Also Sergio's been on a tear and just starts slow. Pac I honestly can't have in the top 3 anymore he just looks like he doesn't have it any more. I'd have to say Floyd, Andre, Sergio in that order.

i have no problem with that. ward's work in the super six & last night warrants serious consideration. from 2009-2012, ward fought and defeated top-tier fighters back to back. no "stay busy" fights.... no "gimme" fights... pac remained #1 even though his best was in 2008. ever since, his performances were lackluster and against "big" names instead of relevant threats. floyd fell off due to inactivity and choice of opponents. donaire had some great wins sprinkled with stay-busy fights against nobodies... sergio was in eurobum land fighting nobodies to keep busy... klit bros stomped out their division against nobodies (not their fault)... if i judge p4p based on "what have you done for me lately?", then i would have ward on top... 2011 fighter of the year wasnt enough???? for me, it is. but if we were to judge based on whole career and popularity, then we have floyd, pac, jmm, b-hop, etc. on top. What big names do you speak of for Manny? If you say manny beat bradley then i'll say JMM beat manny 3 times. Only thing i see on mannys resume is Cotto at catch. Manny at top 5 is laughable.

Can any body give me 1 reason why Andre Ward should not be P4P number 1. Look at all the competition he has fought in the last 3 year and the way he has beat them easily!!! Bika, Kessler, Froch, Abraham, Green, Maranda and now he stops BAD Chad Dawson easily!! Wow!!! He fights at 1 weight and always controls every advantage possible, da refs is even afraid to warn him for foul play. He now wants to fight a 40 year old man dat has been retired for 3 years, dat sound like P4P#1 to you?

His win over Dawson really isn't that significant or great. It was the most significant fight in American boxing in recent memory. Just because it didn't get the media's attention doesn't make it worth any less.

The last time Pacman impressed against a solid foe was Clottey. That's not enough to be pfp in 2012. Floyd did beat Ortiz & Cotto. Both decent wins, but not to brag about. Ward's domination of the super six & destruction of Dawson is the greatest accomplishments of any top fighter lately & he deserves the #1 spot imo. Pfp isn't based on resume. So beating Barrera a half decade ago isn't enough to warrant pfp supremacy now.

I think Ward is definitely p4p number 3. He's surpassed Sergio in my book by beating top competition at Super Middle and solidified his position by then knocking out the light heavy weight champion of the world. He made it all look easy as well. I still have Manny at number 2 because of all the accomplishments he has achieved in the sport. His last loss was a robbery and Marquez has always given him a tough time. One bad night is not enough to drop the guy down several places. At 28 Ward is closing in on the number one spot fast but I don't think he's there quite yet. Let him mix it up with some light heavy weights AT the light heavy weight limit and then we can voice our opinion.

Ward maybe deserves to be #4. But then you could ask why both Klitschkos aren't up there, considering they have alot better resumes in one division, because Ward is only ranked at SMW and "P4P" generally means multi-divisional (fighting opponents at their natural weights). Technically, JMM has more business in "P4P" top 5 than Martinez. The Klitschkos above Ward. :rofl:

because Floyd hasnt died yet? I'm sorry but this dude is right, the only reason Floyd was bump from his spot was because he went on hiatus. Ward is #2 easily, but until Floyd retires or gets beat, he won't get that spot.

Ward, you could make a case that hes a better fighter than a past prime Floyd. Ward is a stud.
